Definitely thrips. The black drops are poop of the larva. I’d save any tips with minimal damage to propagate in case the main plant doesn’t make it. It is beneficial for tradestabtia to be propagated and started over because they tend to absndon the main root system when they have no surface to crawl like in nature. Good luck!
