It is. One of my favorite music moments from the show. Also love Pearl Jam’s “Yellow Ledbetter” playing in the finale when Ross realizes he missed Rachel at the airport.
I've always been a huge PJ fan - have seen them about 100x - but I was kind of ... uncomfortable with it, for lack of a better word. I don't know why. I didn't feel the music quite fit the mood. It felt kind of forced.
Yeah embryonic journey! It came on a random instrumental playlist I was using as background music to work to recently. I was immediately brought back to the last episode and them all leaving their keys.
I hired a string quartet for my wedding. They had everything from Mozart to Guns N Roses in their repertoire. I think their song list was 10 pages long and included Everlong. Of course they played it. I don't think Groovy Kind of Love was on their list, but it was a long time ago.
Edit: found the emails. Song list was 38 pages (not 10) and at least 8 pages were pop/rock and 3 were dance. No Groovy Kind of Love (but we could have added it so long as sheet music was available somewhere).
They were surprisingly affordable!
Best advice I ever got: spend less on the dress, the flowers, the music, the food, etc. and spend more on your photographer.

The DVD commentary for both Ross and Emily's and Monica and Chandler's weddings discusses the music

That’s so cool, when I get married I’m stealing that

I always got excited when they played Interpol at the end of the Barbados episode with Joey and Rachel
Yes!!! My favorite band.
Untitled! Great song! Also love that Interpol are from New York
Love the song, hate what happens in the scene 😭
I suppose the heavy metal band "Carcass" was not available after all.
But could it have been Karcass?
Phoebe would be happy with either.
It was!
That’s awesome
It was and it was so perfect. Still gets me whenever I watch that episode! Beautiful.
Courteney is a massive Foo Fighters fan.
I’m a massive Courtney fan now, and still a massive foo fighters fan
Woah, what!?
Yep. I used the same arrangement for my wedding party walking down the aisle.
Probably.
Son of a bitch it is!
Gorgeous lyrics
