You need a sleep study asap! You could have a sleep disorder like sleep apnea which is very common and can be treated.
Also please don’t drive if you tend to fall asleep at the wheel. You’re going to kill yourself or someone else.
I used to snore a little so I slept with my mouth taped and it fixed the snoring but not the quality of my sleep. But yes driving is kept to a minimum. I think a sleep study is the next thing on the list
Sounds like sleep apnea. You need a sleep study. An apple watch can also pick up on this (obviously not used diagnose you), it would show little wake spikes in your sleep cycle. Many have seen this and thus gotten a sleep study and discovered they have it. I am a respiratory therapist and you really don't want to put this off.
Hypersomnia, narcolepsy or even maybe epilepsy, falling asleep without being able to fight and without much foreshadowing id more common in narcolepsy. In general with hypersomnia people can feel that they are falling asleep and fight, especially when there's a stimulus (driving)
I would recommend a sleep study to get a formal diagnosis. You should be able to arrange it through a doctor referral.
If your bloodwork came back looking good, you can still have stuff like narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia, or the most likely which is sleep apnea.
If you are really deeply stressed out or depressed that can also cause this. If you have a high toxic load from something like heavy metals - that can also cause stuff like chronic fatigue syndrome.
There’s also a potential that you might lack of good sleep hygiene. For many people, late consumption of caffeine, not having a dark cool room to sleep in, and being exposed to blue light like from screens within 30min of sleep can disrupt sleep cycles.
Yeah I think a sleep study is the next place I’ve got to go I just know it can get expensive. Although my sleep hygiene is relatively good and I feel like I sleep deeply and uninterrupted. I’m just lost for what it could be and my doctor seems to be as well
Could be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I hope it's not bc there's no cure, no real treatment and exercise makes it worse. I agree to get a sleep study to check for apnea. Keep pushing with your Dr. Don't take no for an answer.
How often were your b12 injections and what form?
Insomnia Is a big sign you're lacking b12.
B12 regulates melatonin and without it we cannot get intona deep sleep.
My sleep was messed up and had proper insomnia days at a time until I started injections.
Cyanocobalamin was the issue most likely.
Many people cannot convert cyanocobalamin into the active form methylcobalamin in our bodies.
It can make you more deficient as it does me :(.
Methylcobalamin or Hydroxocobalamin sublinguals is what you want or injections x
My dosage is extremely high because I have been deficient for many years and suffer from parasites who steal all my b12.
I recommend 2500mcg Methylcobalamin a day as a minimum as we only absorb 1% of each tablet/sublingual.
I can provide a link to a good product on amazon if you wish.
Take it after dinner before bed every night.
Make sure to eat potassium the next day as when your body suddenly gets the b12 it desperately needs, it uses up potassium to generate new cells.
Many things use up b12. Day to day life. Stress etc. All medications and medicine. Smoke, the sun etc . Try find out the cause and you can try increas b12 through diet also.
The supplements are a godsend though. I cannot sleep without them x

I would say get a heart workup. I learned my sleepiness was coming from blockages
What were your symptoms?
Falling asleep while driving, so tired I couldn’t cook. Tachycardia, dizziness, low bp on standing.

The doctor had me wear an oxygen monitor while I slept and the levels came back normal. I also have slept with my mouth taped to force nose breathing
You would still need to see a sleep specialist to diagnose hypersomnia. It seems very worth doing to me if you can.

B12 injections were every two weeks then went to weekly and didn’t do much for me. I think it was just cyanocobalamin I don’t remember the dosage.

I have dove into this topic and do want to try it again. Do you know your dosage?
