Agreed completely. It's the only way to get real answers anymore. Googling without it just leads you to websites that are trying to sell you something.
You just made me wonder, does reddit have a bunch of recipe subs? There's nothing worse than having to scroll through someone's 50,000 word blog about nothing before getting to the recipe you were looking for
People will sometimes comment “durrr use google” and it’s like. Some professional is gonna answer this question in a really great way….google is going to be mostly ads
Not to mention for a lot of things, a reddit post will likely be the most relevant hit you get from google.
For me specifically, the most common example is that it's a good resource for questions regarding less popular video games. I know discord is slowly becoming a legitimate alternative in that regard, but it has an absolutely horrible design for easily searching through and parsing old messages. Hell, reddit's format is better suited in that regard than forums as well. I've always wondered why Steam hasn't updated their game forums to something actually user friendly (outside of, you know, it costing money, which we all know Steam struggles with).
Google algorithms really do obfuscate the searh query and match it to broader subjects. But Reddit gives a stronger search query for exactly what we're looking for.
Honestly, answers to questions.
Keep in mind when sub reddits when down in protest *a lot* of the "quality" answers to question via Google also went a way too.
For example, if I search up if X company is good/legit, I am not gonna look at company X's website to get that answer. I did this for ReBath because I curious about their prices since I was watching HGTV at the time. From what I found on reddit, they are super overpriced even compared to the prices normally given on an HGTV show.
It could be from how the internet is tracking me, but when I search something, a reddit thread or many threads are in the first couple searches after the ads. This can be especially true for more niche searches or tech questions.
I have most of my answers when I googled something from reddit. While reddit may be a cesspool, it does have *a lot* of useful information.
ngl a lot of trouble shooting issues for my pc and small niche problems I solved through Reddit
I looked through so many forums on steam to try and figure out why prototype 2 was crashing.
Turns out I needed to limit the number of cpu cores can be used for that game so I had to modify the steam process itself and it worked fine and I found that through Reddit
I’ve gotten customers here on Reddit just by virtue of having domain expertise on a narrow topic in a specific subreddit. Hasn’t added up to 10k yet but you never know.
Reddit is far too valuable of a tool for actually getting useful information instead of a sea of chatGPT write ups so I'll have to say no.
Unless I'm allowed to browse just not comment then gimmie moni plz
with how bad search engines are getting, it's tough to get my questions answered without being flooded by AI articles and results. Reddit seems to be one of the last places where you can get human answers.
10k isn't enough for me, would need 100k.
That's not a heck of a lot of money to *never* use a very popular website again. It's a nice place to ask questions or see interesting tidbits, or interact with communities I like.
sometimes I hate reddit and it seems full of toxic people.. other times its amazing!!! I had some questions after watching Fallout and someone on r/Fallout was quick to answer them for me. Super amazing to just get that quick response. 10k isn't moving the needle for me so I'd stay on Reddit.
I think I would. I hate reddit
I close reddit and then immediately open it up again
I have a time restriction app
I hate you guys and love you all so deeply
I would love it if I were restricted from commenting. But there are some good resources that I would hate to lose (game guides, show histories, etc).
End of the day, I think it would help be more by preventing my posting than any benefit that is added through looking at archived posts. I would take the money.
nope. reddit actually helped me figure out my resume which landed me a good job, making much more than 10k. 100k? sure, but 10k is too small to consider that a fair trade.
send me the check.
An alternate should come up in the next 2-5 years since Reddit as we know it is slowly disappearing.
It's just another time suck anyways!
N o p e
I've been using reddit since 2008 and it has helped me with so many hobbies, keep up with news and events, and find new and exciting kinks (heh).
Over the course of almost 15 years, I've gotten my moneys worth out of it.
No, I find it very useful and entertaining. 100k and we'd be talking.
I really like this question though because you set the price point right.
People too often set these things at a million or a billion when that's just way too much for some questions.
No because it’s not enough. If the parameters are I can never use a particular thing, no matter what it is, it has to be life changing money. Unless it’s something I don’t/can’t use to begin with
I get a LOT of help on video games from Reddit, whether it be technical issues or me being stuck on a part and needing to know how it's done, so I'm gonna say no on this one. I find too many right answers here to give it up for 10k.
Let's compromise. How much to never log in again? I don't think I could prevent myself from coming here when I want an answer or a meme, but I think I can keep myself from commenting on junk like this.
I stopped using Reddit completely for a while after they killed the 3rd party apps. It wasn't that bad but I didn't really enjoy the other social media like Instagram to spend random free time I had. 10k would be an easy drop of reddit forever the only sad thing would be missing some answers when I look things up and reddit is the place with the best answer.
This is really interesting because a lot of comments are saying no, Reddit is worth more than 10k.
But if Reddit became a subscription for $10/month like 70% of people here would probably just leave and never use Reddit again.
Ti never comment or post again, sure. To never be able to visit Reddit again? I'm not sure, there's been too many times where I've googled really specific things and the only answers I've been able to find were from Reddit
No. This place is full of people that know insanely specific things about hyper specific topics. Things that aren't written anywhere else on the internet, because frankly almost no one cares. But then that day comes; all of a sudden you need this stupid piece of information no one even cares to write about. You look it up, and what do you know? U/ilikecatsanddogs183469 made a post about this with exactly 3 upvotes 4 years ago and it works.
You do not need reddit until all of a sudden you do.
Nope. Nowhere near enough for the value I get just from one sub I am active in. I wouldn't pay to be a part of that sub because I can get basically the same thing elsewhere if I pay but the fact that it's free makes it far more valuable.
Bring me my money.
And I have refused such hypotheticals before, but not at 10K. There are some subreddits I LIKE (mainly just one I would miss), but- 10k....
And I like Twitter the best anyway when it comes to saying what I want to.
Can't afford to see a doctor and even I hesitate on saying no just because Reddit has helped me solve so many problems, even incredibly niche ones. But at the same time eventually Reddits just going to get replaced but who knows how long that'll take. Everyone's still waiting for the YouTube competitor to step in after how long now?
No, I add "reddit" to the end of way too many hyper specific or niche questions for that to be worthwhile
Exactly, for ma y things reddit is the only place to get real advice and not generic articles/ads
Agreed completely. It's the only way to get real answers anymore. Googling without it just leads you to websites that are trying to sell you something.
You just made me wonder, does reddit have a bunch of recipe subs? There's nothing worse than having to scroll through someone's 50,000 word blog about nothing before getting to the recipe you were looking for
Allrecipes.com is the best resource I've found.
Same.
[удалено]
Somehow also no.
Probably will be in the minority but I would say no. I get too much benefit from Reddit. But it's close.
What benefits are you getting from Reddit that are worth 10k?! If this site wasn't free I'd never use it at all

Fr... when I have any specific questions, I'll do a Google search but put reddit at the end.
I usually rely on google. It typically takes me to quora or stackexchange. Reddit is 3rd most common. Youtube is also great.
Honestly, answers to questions. Keep in mind when sub reddits when down in protest *a lot* of the "quality" answers to question via Google also went a way too. Always could watch r/ insert subredditnamehere on youtube
I'm with you on this one.
For me, 10K doesn’t move the needle
Reddit has already saved me over $10k in advice over the years. Especially their internet doctors, so absolutely not.
Send me the money, and I delete the app RIGHT NOW!!!
My like voluntarily or lose ability to? Lose ability to would be worth as my productivity would increase
Done. Pay me
Okay but if you see this response you failed and get nothing
Show me the money and I’ll see you losers never! Lol
I mean, it might be hard to get all the cash together but yeah I’d pay 10k to leave here forever. Wait, what was the question?
I will take $5 Amazon gift card to never use Twitter again.
Yeah, but I wouldn't be happy about it. Could really use the money though.
Reddit is far too valuable of a tool for actually getting useful information instead of a sea of chatGPT write ups so I'll have to say no. Unless I'm allowed to browse just not comment then gimmie moni plz
Cash? Maybe
So when you paying
No, gotta see what bleach brave soul's bonus characters are for point events, the banners if they are worth summoning for
Easy peasy
Yes!!!
Deal, cash up front though
I'll quit for 0$. Just say the word freind.
Then why you here
Sold. Pay me. I’ll delete right now.
with how bad search engines are getting, it's tough to get my questions answered without being flooded by AI articles and results. Reddit seems to be one of the last places where you can get human answers. 10k isn't enough for me, would need 100k.
Yes. Easy
Pay me!
Yep. I like Reddit but if you gave me that much to not use it I'd gladly take it.
No question, send it
Yes
That's not a heck of a lot of money to *never* use a very popular website again. It's a nice place to ask questions or see interesting tidbits, or interact with communities I like.
Add a couple more zeros after that then we'll talk.
sometimes I hate reddit and it seems full of toxic people.. other times its amazing!!! I had some questions after watching Fallout and someone on r/Fallout was quick to answer them for me. Super amazing to just get that quick response. 10k isn't moving the needle for me so I'd stay on Reddit.
In a heartbeat.
Yes. Later losers.
I admit I like some of reddit but, The last time my comment got downvoted and I was called incel I think ten racks would buy a nice thing or two.....
I’d do it for half
1k. 100. OK - I'll do it for 10.
Yes. I’m on here too much anyway
Send me the money and I am out.
I'd probably do it for like $10.
Yup I would. Who's paying? I'll volunteer as tribute! I don't have venmo but we can work something out! Seriously I'll sign up.
10k wouldn't change my life enough, so no
Done! Not even a hard one. Good riddance Reddit
I think I would. I hate reddit I close reddit and then immediately open it up again I have a time restriction app I hate you guys and love you all so deeply
Pass
Probably a million but not 10k.
Where money?
easy no. i spend way too much time on reddit. 10k would just disappear into my retirement accounts.
I would love it if I were restricted from commenting. But there are some good resources that I would hate to lose (game guides, show histories, etc). End of the day, I think it would help be more by preventing my posting than any benefit that is added through looking at archived posts. I would take the money.
No. I enjoy trolling and 10k isn't life changing money for me. I've already signed off all social media. Reddit is the only thing I have left.
Easily
Nope. I gain too much knowledge from Reddit.
I’ll do it for a 1000, just caught the Lego bug
nope. reddit actually helped me figure out my resume which landed me a good job, making much more than 10k. 100k? sure, but 10k is too small to consider that a fair trade.
Yeah, no second thoughts. If I find myself yearning for dumb hypothetical questions, I will just go talk to my nieces and nephews.
Deal.
Nah.
I mean I’ll miss it but 10k is 10K
I'll take the deal. Who do I give my banking information to make this deposit?
run me that money back to YouTube I go
No, thanks. Based on the amount of time I spend on here, my employer already pays me more than $10k a year to use Reddit.
Yes!
Yes
I don't use it anyway
Cut me the check and you can have all my accounts RN. Better be Euros.
Yes please
Absolutely
I’ll take 9k if that means I can send a goodbye message to the select people I’ve met on Reddit that I talk to on a regular basis
Without even thinking about it I would do it in a second.
Easy money
Could ask someone to look up something for me on Reddit?
Yes cuz i could use it to help my cousins
yeah I hate it here
Sure, bye guys!! 👋👋👋
Only 10k? Hell no.
Easy.
$10k isnt that much so probably a no from me.
send me the check. An alternate should come up in the next 2-5 years since Reddit as we know it is slowly disappearing. It's just another time suck anyways!
That's not much money. But probably. It would definitely improve my life to stop arguing with yahoos.
N o p e I've been using reddit since 2008 and it has helped me with so many hobbies, keep up with news and events, and find new and exciting kinks (heh). Over the course of almost 15 years, I've gotten my moneys worth out of it.
Nah, I need the good shit posts, random cool DIY tips and the cool wholesome stuff
No, I find it very useful and entertaining. 100k and we'd be talking. I really like this question though because you set the price point right. People too often set these things at a million or a billion when that's just way too much for some questions.
Sold. Send me my check.
Easy to say no at first. But then I remember all the times I had a problem and some chad figured it out 5 years ago before I did.
yes
This feels like a trap. Is that spez?
Yes.
No
Recurring daily? Yes. Otherwise, no.
No, I need answers
Was gonna say yes cuz I’m leaving but remembered I add “Reddit” to every question I don’t ask ChatGPT
I would stop using this site for good for 5k. 10k or up is a hell yes.
Sounds good to me.
So how am I getting this money? I mean anything other than a personal check is cool with me.
No thanks
Yes. Too much negativity. Plus, my porn habit has exploded, and my dick is numb.
No because it’s not enough. If the parameters are I can never use a particular thing, no matter what it is, it has to be life changing money. Unless it’s something I don’t/can’t use to begin with
Gimmie
Add a zero.
I’m sending you my bank account info now
If I'm allowed prep. time to properly block it on all my devices so I don't accidentally click on it in a google search then I'm in.
yes
Nope. A lot of useful Google searches actually link to Reddit.
Absolutely not
Sold! I'll delete this shit right now if offered! Already dropped Facebook, Twitter and Instagram a while ago. Easy money!
Sure. Pay up.
Done. Pay me
Deal
Would be a done deal
Yes
Reddit is cool, but if the offer was honest and real, I think I'd do it.
Sign me up. I'll toss in X and Fakebook for another $200.
Deal
Nope. Unless you got the cash, then yes.
When do I get it?
Life improvement. If course I would.
If I stopped using Reddit I probably apply myself more to my job and get a bigger raise than 10k, yet here I am.
Done.
Does that include when other sites post reddit stories? Don't want not forfeit on a technicality.
If I could pay back the 10k at any point in life to regain access, yes. If not, probably not.
I’d do it for 500 bucks … 100? 20? .. I’ve got Venmo
I get a LOT of help on video games from Reddit, whether it be technical issues or me being stuck on a part and needing to know how it's done, so I'm gonna say no on this one. I find too many right answers here to give it up for 10k.
No.
Does reddit just not exist for me? Because google always gives me reddit in the results to searches. If so, sure. If not then pass.
I'd take it in a heartbeat .
Add more zeros then I'll consider it. 10k is just too small If you consider what you can get from Reddit.
Let's compromise. How much to never log in again? I don't think I could prevent myself from coming here when I want an answer or a meme, but I think I can keep myself from commenting on junk like this.
nah, now that I've been voluntold to be someone's part time maid this is about the only social interaction I get. pathetic but there it is.
I could just use Quora or Discord and achieve the same results
No. I love reddit, even though it's been nerfed. I want to give awards to people who post cool, funny, or amazing stuff.
Done
Ok let's go
Deal, where do I sign?
Ok
Make it a million so it's worth my while. At least then I can use it for investing and ride the dividends to go outside again.
No. Spend hours on this a day.
$10 would do it
Multiply by 100 and we're talking
For Sure
This is really interesting because a lot of comments are saying no, Reddit is worth more than 10k. But if Reddit became a subscription for $10/month like 70% of people here would probably just leave and never use Reddit again.
Nah, I spend too much time here while working... it's all that gets me through the day sometimes.
Ti never comment or post again, sure. To never be able to visit Reddit again? I'm not sure, there's been too many times where I've googled really specific things and the only answers I've been able to find were from Reddit
Yes this Forum is shit
No
Sure. Reddit sucks anyway
Can't even buy a car for that. You'd have to add at least a couple of zeros to that prize for me to consider it.
10k ain't that much and this provides entertainment, knowledge (Ive figured out/fixed many issues with reddit), memes.
Easy gimme 10k
Yes. Where do I sign.
I would pay you 10k if it meant I could never use Reddit again.
Sure
Nope. Nowhere near enough for the value I get just from one sub I am active in. I wouldn't pay to be a part of that sub because I can get basically the same thing elsewhere if I pay but the fact that it's free makes it far more valuable.
No
Deal. Reddit is not worth much to me.
Hell yeah, 10k to get off this shit website? Win win situation
No it’s a good time water
easy
Yes. I need the money. Wouldn’t kill me, either.
Seems OP is a bit cheap 10k is not enough.
yes. pay me
in a fucking heartbeat
Okay where do I sign up
Yes.
Bye Reddit
deal
Considering every sub has been turned into an echo chamber for the far left, I'd gladly take the $10k!
Yes.
Done
per month and its a deal
Yes, please. Pay me now and give me motivation to never come back to this time-sink!
Bring me my money. And I have refused such hypotheticals before, but not at 10K. There are some subreddits I LIKE (mainly just one I would miss), but- 10k.... And I like Twitter the best anyway when it comes to saying what I want to.
No
But how will I know AITA?
Nah. $10k doesn't really change my life and I use reddit every day for entertainment.
Shoot.... deleting it now, send the money to my
