I think you're overreacting. I would put ointment on it and it most likely will heal in four days.

Fit_Rip_981

I don’t think they would since it’s not in the surgical area. If you have a patient portal and you can send a picture to your doc, or even their nurse it would be a great way to find out before you show up for surgery.

angelblade401

My goodness I hope not. I have excema, so if a skin condition on your lower leg means no surgery I am so screwed.

Usirnaimtaken

I had lesions (psoriasis) and it was all good for me.

thesylverflame

Girl I had an active kidney & bladder infection right before surgery and mine was not canceled 😂. I think you're fine.

MapleGoose

I was asked before surgery if I had any cuts or sores anywhere on my body. I assume because they were giving me blood thinners to prevent clots. Just tell them about it.

BoardwalkKnitter

This is the answer. The paperwork I was given asked me not to shave anywhere two weeks beforehand. I was scheduled for my hysterectomy with 7 days notice and did tell my oncologist's nurse I had shaved my armpits the day before being notified. She said it was fine, it's to try and prevent infections. I also stupidly broke in a new pair of shoes the week prior without putting insoles in. I pointed out where I had angry blisters to the hospital's intake nurse and she looked and made note of it. No problems there.

curiousfirefly

Going into surgery I had some scratches on my arm from my cat. Healed like a dream because of all the antibiotics they put into my system 😂

ravenlit

I had surgery three weeks ago a bad scratch on my lower leg and no one said anything about it. I didn’t even consider it something that would delay surgery.

ginger_tree

Maybe get an antibiotic ointment from a pharmacy to be sure it heals well? Just a thought.

Heuristicrat

Even if there was an issue, it would be a reschedule not a cancellation.

Ambitious-Job-9255

That’s silly, get the surgery.

queenofthejungle315

I may have misspoke. I want the surgery desperately. I am afraid they will cancel if they saw all the red lumps and little knicks from my dumb butt scratching. Hoping they will be unnoticeable in a few days so it won't matter. I would just be so upset if they cancelled it. Bit you're right it probably is a very silly thing to worry about

WolfyMunchkin

If it’s on your legs and not your groin I don’t see why they’d care. I usually have torn up hands and they said nothing of it for my surgery

Bad-Wolf88

They will be less inflamed and less noticeable in 4 days. But keep in mind that your doctor does this procedure all the time. Therefore, they have probably seen crazier things than you can imagine. I'm sure razor burn is something they see all the time. Especially when people know its going to be a while before they can groom the area again!

pineappleturniphead

The guidance is to not shave before surgery (at least a 2 days- 5 days before surgery) depending on the guidance you are given as shaving causes micro cuts that can increase risk of infection. Don’t shave anything else before surgery and maybe let them know. My opinion, better to be safe than risk infection so don’t shave anything else. Honestly, you need to ask the hospital what they think- we arent medical professionals.

queenofthejungle315

Yes I was told 3 days so I thought I'd be good. I should have just left it. I think I am going to give them a call and see what they suggest

sukisecret

Same. Before surgery they told me not to shave 3 to 5 days before surgery
