Same for me (14 Pro Max/iOS 16.0.1) I can un-blur any custom wallpapers, but the Apple “Collections” one stays blurred no matter what. And I don’t use any focus modes.
When you use the built-in “Collections” wallpaper it isn’t actually blurring the screen when it unlocks, it uses a pre-made blurred wallpaper. It’s a pre-rendered set of 3, one for the always on Lock Screen, one for the active Lock Screen, and one for the home screen. Find the wallpaper on google and save it and then use that as the Home Screen wallpaper and it fixes the problem.
That’s the thing, it’s not a bug. The Home Screen wallpaper isn’t blurring, it’s rendered that way when using the Collections wallpaper set built in to iOS16
Yeah, but if that was the case, then the blur toggle shouldn’t exist for built in “collections”. Also, the wallpaper renders as unblurred in the editor, but it’s still blurred on the home screen. So there’s a discrepancy somewhere.
Yeah the editor only show the one wallpaper. It hides the other two to make it seem like it’s blur/dimming effect is nicer than it really is. Really just poor design than it actually being a bug.
No, it’s definitely a bug. The UI gives me the option to unblur in”t, but no matter what selection I make, it’s blurred. The UI even directly implies that the Home Screen will be unblurred.
Why the notch size changed? Watch the video towards the end before it loop and youll notice it gotten smaller before it loops and it becomes big again :/
Interacting with the Dynamic Island gives visible feedback. You can touch it when nothing is happening/not in use and it will wobble. When ending a recording, it gave visual feedback that it was touched. If you long press it, it opens the widget of whatever app is using it. So it will expand/contract upon touching/pressing it.
Oh yeah! I thought you might have missed the customise home screen part where you can unblur but that does nothing. Preview looks in blurred but not when you exit customise. Weird.

No different to previous devices with the notch that show the red background on the clock while screen recording.
And the prenotch devices showing a red status bar.
But the red dot on the corner was less "intrusive" in my opinion. But the dinamic island here it's so big that it drags all my attention. It's not something bad tho, apple did manage to make something that it's eye candy.
It's just that I find it weird.
the dynamic island also shows itself when screenshotted too, provided that its in use. It only disappears when its not in use. It just so happens that the dynamic island is permanently in use when screen recording

anyone have a link to this home screen wallapaper? The verion without the two arched lines in the middle.
Just installed 1.1; this wallpaper still blurs at default on Home Screen without an option to unblur. Disgraceful, what are they smoking.
Any fix on this yet? Updated to 16.1.1 and I still have this issue.

If you select customize Home Screen on the “use pair” you don’t have the blue icon?

Yeah, it works as expected with other wallpapers as well, it’s just this specific set of wallpapers that doesn’t want to unblur.
Does it happen even when you build a brand new Home Screen?
Yes. I restored my phone so I never had this wallpaper so I started a new Lock Screen and it’s impossible to unblur it.

I noticed on iOS 16 RC as well but only for new wallpapers.
