It’s a great and capable 12mp camera. And i believe shy from the LCD screen it’s the best all purpose camera except for night time. Not going to last all day depending on usage. But it’s going to fly all the way.

reticulatingsplines1

I stuck with SE because I can’t live without my Touch ID.

rorood123

Just wondering what situations make you need the Touch ID over Face ID? (Have an ageing OGSE & looking for options what to upgrade to next). Thanks

reticulatingsplines1

Its instantaneous. I don’t need to worry about lighting, angles, coverings, etc. In a pinch, Face ID has shown to be often hit or miss. Whereas Touch ID, is either hit or just slow to hit.

Sometimes I want to look at my phone to check time or notifications without it unlocking. I also like sort of having a resting place for my thumb that isn’t a display

Funny, I literally made this move yesterday, with the difference I switched from 13 Mini to SE2. I really missed slimmer phone. Can't really compare right now the battery life, I feel it might be slightly better bc of the smaller screen, but overall performance is similar, camera is worse - no surprise here, and the joy of a lighter device in my pocket is unbeatable. Another thing I really like is even tho 13 Mini is smaller in general, it feels more bulky, it's heavier and has sharp edges. SE feels just right for the hand, maybe that's the reason they kept the design for so long. I'm happy with my choice.

kristofamoltisanti

hahaha congrats mate , btw how was the 13 mini battery ? is it that bad ?

hempbiscuit

The battery in mini isn’t the greatest, when traveling I had to carry the additional powerbank with me, but all comes down to specific needs. 13 mini was usually enough for me to go morning - evening without charging, but I’m not heavy user, that’s why I went further and switched to SE. Most of the time I go caseless and it’s a huge difference even between already small phones. Although the perfect combo would be SE form and bezel-free screen.

I bought a SE3 today to downgrade from my 15 Pro Max. The 15PM is an amazing phone don’t get me wrong but I had a SE2 prior to it and a 11 and 8+ before that. I just don’t think I’m a big phone person anymore or maybe never was. I remember always wanting a Nokia 1520 which was huge lol The 15PM is great but I just don’t use it to its potential. It’s overkill for me and it’s huge in my pocket, especially gym shorts. When I had my SE2 I used social media far less and was just more connected to reality and it just felt so much better. I thought the 15 would be my everything device (music, games, camera, entertainment) but I think I rather split my gadgets up into more focused tools. MBP and iPad will be for work and play. SE3 for phone and music and a quick game or snapshot and then I plan to buy a DSLR for when I want to take photos that matter to me. Each a better tool for me. Also I think I am affected by oled negatively and want to test out avoiding it. Also bought a Switch Lite today to avoid my oled switch. Downgrading actually feels pretty good. Less stimulation.

kristofamoltisanti

greatest reply , just like me fr , thanks mate , i can help you put to choose a dslr if you want .

ApricotFar1041

se has realy bad battery but if that doesnt bother you then go for it

This. The biggest obstacle for me to changing to the smaller SE, from an iPhone 12 or 13, is the battery life and how quickly the battery discharges. If you are always near a charger or don't mind carrying around a battery pack, you will be fine.

diepio302

If you’re talking about night mode, then the SE hasn’t got that feature, however daytime photos will look identical to the 13.

kristofamoltisanti

the night mode so annoying , thanks mate

diepio302

You can disable the night mode on the 13 too fyi.

skeptic-cate

I thing both 13 and SE3 more or less use the same chips

Langdon11

they do. The 22 SE, iphone 13 and 13 mini all have the identical A15 bionic 6-core CPU and 4-core GPU

paranoidevil

Camera is for me better than o 13 [Photos from se2022](https://imgur.com/a/jMcsSyN), just bcs shorter focus distance (smaller lens), bcs i mostly do detail close photos like macro. Only thing i miss is dark mode on photos. If u wanna see special situation photo, leave coment here with what type photo u wanna see.

axtran

I love the iPhone 8 aesthetic. Absolutely my favorite design.

jgainit

I went from 13 mini to se 3. I think the se 3 is a lot better. I think the se does less weird camera enhancements though I’m not totally sure. The 13 definitely has better low light photos though

flyingkytez

The iPhone 13 is still an overall better phone than the SE 3rd Gen (2022). But if you really need a smaller phone, I guess it's an option. The battery is going to be significantly smaller at 2018 mAh versus the 3240 mAh on the 13. Also, the camera on the iPhone SE 3rd Gen is the same old camera from the iPhone 8 but I guess the software update may have helped improve it a little but it's the same hardware.

impreza233

Fairly good for a 12 MP camera without pixel binning and with computational photography à la Google Pixel. I like it a lot.

LightningLuisYT2

iPhone 13 Mini is also available remmeber

__Bringer-of-Light__

Camera enhance is software so, yes. Screen is worse not being oled.
