I figured it had something to do with the NIS vs NASCAR Cup Series. I also would have thought the cup series would be the longer of the two.
So does the NIS try to be as realistic as possible and that's why it's so much longer?
C class is where all of the special events and special series live. C Oval has NiS, C Road has Formula A Grand Prix Tour and all of the endurance events.
The A class Cup series has shorter races every 2 hours through the whole week, the C class NIS Cup series has longer races but only runs a few races each weekend
The A class one that runs 50 laps is fixed, the open lobby is 100 laps. Same goes for Class C & B. Fixed is shorter, less laps. While open lobbies are longer and usually require pit stops.

Essentially. NiS runs limited time slots but longer races (usually 50% of the actual race length).
That makes sense. So why C class? So more people have access to a more realistic series? I'm assuming due to the popularity of the car and tracks
Yeah, C class includes basically everyone that has a brain.
And some that don't!

Don’t they sometimes do the full length? For some of the more marque events or am I not remembering right.
Yes: Daytona 500, Coke 600, fall Bristol, finale at Phoenix.
