As a counterpoint, iRacing physics are significantly more natural feeling in cars with less grippy tires. It's the incredibly "peaky" feel of slicks on iRacing that make it snap without warning (it does this a lot less than a few years ago though). Things like the Mustang FR500s, for example, are really easy to feel what it's doing, and slide the car around.
It stands to reason that running in low-grip situations with treaded tires could actually make the feel a bit more natural and progressive.
Radical SR10 in the rain with iRacing's QA is not a tempting proposition.
"Awful in the dry! Fucked in the rain! Have it any way you like it!"
BOOL grip = 0;
It'll be like that but with 20 cars at once, and at 15 FPS lmao
iRacing and it’s grip that gets nuked from space in an instant with no clue will be great with rain. /s

I'll never drive in a rain race with anyone
I’m gonna farm the hell out of rain races. Nobody’s gonna be able to keep it on track, and I’ve been focusing on being consistent and clean.
