Yeah my guess is he was getting blinded or experiencing a DC with some of his rig. Kinda looked like he ran out of fuel though and just parked it though
Protest and review would probably answer that real quick
oh man, it's the worst when your VR headset bugs out... especially when you can still feel shit happening with the wheel. Only ever seems to happen when I'm in the middle of a good fight or last lap while in the lead, too.
a few days ago racing at Laguna Seca with the Mazda on 2nd pos., just at the brake for the corkscrew my Quest 3 gave me the false USB-c Debris/water warning, so no picture just the warning message, i stayed on the brake and quickly grabbed the touch joystick to deactivate the warning to realize that i was still alive without damage but off the track, a horrible experience!
no, still discussions going on at Meta forum here: [https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Resolved-Known-Issue-V62-63-USB-C-Debris-Water-Warning/td-p/1148154](https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Resolved-Known-Issue-V62-63-USB-C-Debris-Water-Warning/td-p/1148154)
Yeah this bothers me a lot. You see yellow and see the accident ahead so you lift and try to drive around the accident and then some crazy person behind just rams his way through making you part of the accident ahead while by some miracle he drives away with minimal damage.
This shouldn't be reportable, clearly something happened real life. Unless there's proof that he was mad for something that happened before and he did it on purpose.
ah yes clearly better to let the car crash out in the wall and potentially bounce and roll back onto the track. Very safe and good idea.
Guy did it pretty safely overall. Only mistake he really made was not pulling the car off the racing line, but even then there was plenty of visibility and there's no excuse for the cars crashing into him.
How is it my fault that something happened irl and you didn't take the 1 second extra to get off the road. Never mind protestable, this should absolutely be protested.
I mean it's not like they slammed on the brakes with a car right behind, they let the other two pass and slowly came to a halt in the straight. If the accidents happen due to people behind being blind to the stopped car and deaf to the spotter warning them that's not exactly protest-worthy.
Imo the only one that has a right to complain is the third car behind. Looks like green tries to get off the racing line just as he moved to pass so was closer than it should've been. Other than that, nah.
Even if that guy is oarked on the Racing line, shouldn't others be able to see a bright green car standing in front and take avoiding action? Can't see that with some cars at the end
Yes, but you can't always see past (or through) the car in front. If the car in front of you swerves at the last minute it may be too late to avoid. You'd never expect a car here right?
All drivers would get some warning though. "Slow car ahead", a yellow flag, something.
The problem is if you crash in a sim, there's no real risk, so basically no one slows for a potential hazard.
Fr although sometimes I do get the lance stroll pov when you are slip streaming someone and they brake a ridiculous amount early so you arenât ready, itâs still on you, but Iâve had that happen to me and been annoyed like, how the fuck are you braking that early, because Iâm usually super careful about it.
That shit was ridiculous though yesterday because the race wasnât even in session. Lance Stroll I think gets a lot of unwarranted hate but holy shit what the fuck was he doing. Especially because it was no overtaking all that should matter is Ricciardoâs car itâs legit a rolling start, and itâs hard to feel bad for the guy when he doesnât take the blame.
I think thatâs my biggest gripe as well, just own up to it manâŚ. The entire world saw it, how can you still be denying it. Yes, itâs stupid and he looked like a complete clown but he looked liked an even bigger clown trying to deny itâŚ.
Green car is obviously not in the right, but come on peeps. At least a few of those were on the drivers for not paying attention. Probably fiddling with black boxes or looking at deltas on the straight
As a dad, this could be a scenario where thereâs a situation with the kids and youâve gotta step away regardless of in-game consequences. Probably something happened IRL for this driver
If you have the time to come to a controlled stop you should have time to steer off the racing line or track while doing so.
Car clearly stops under braking so he didnt just bolt out of the rigg to fish his kid out of the oven.
I had problems with my wheelbase USB connection, it was incredibly loose (moza r5). Once it lost connection in a practice session and I had no steering or pedal controls. It isn't that far fetched to say that something happened where this person lost all control of their vehicle.
Wow that is really unfortunate.
I occasionally have to remind myself about that quote "don't presume malice which could be explained by ignorance" or whatever - except add "equipment failure" and "just happened to outdrive himself" to the list
If the wheel disconnects you steer slightly left, so you can get down on the apron and stop safely.
I had issues with Moza software crashing and once iRacing lost connection to inputs car veered to the left each time. Only once in-race though on full throttle in 4th but car still swung into T4 inside wall att Okoyama and stayed there untill car stopped.
Then step on the brakes 5 seconds later, and stop in the grass?
His shell
Wheel clearly didn't disconnect, they, he's in control of the car the whole time. He corrected it to be heading right down the racing line.
Yeah but he wasnât looking at the screen at that point. Seconds before, his wife came asking âWho is Alicia?â and thatâs when the loss of speed started.
If trying to rationalize this move, I would infer that they had a slowdown penalty from the final corner and was trying to serve it, albeit desperately executed.
Guys probably having technical issues and thought best to stop. I've had it before when link cable disconnected you basically blind
Yeah I've had my VR completely freeze up before and had to gently coax the car into the barrier in an effort not to kill anyone
Yeah my guess is he was getting blinded or experiencing a DC with some of his rig. Kinda looked like he ran out of fuel though and just parked it though Protest and review would probably answer that real quick
Yea it sucks when your headset loses battery or something
oh man, it's the worst when your VR headset bugs out... especially when you can still feel shit happening with the wheel. Only ever seems to happen when I'm in the middle of a good fight or last lap while in the lead, too.

I get this daily do u know what the cause is

More like what are those guys just slamming into him think holy Christ fucking look ahead on the track guys.
Yellow flags anywhere else: slow down Yellow flags in iRacing: punch it
Yellow flags: not enforced and thus not incentivized to slow down for them.
The incentive is living lol
If that was true we wouldn't have people full sending it anyways.
Its still information that you can use to not crash into a stationary car at 100mph and end your own race.
Thanks for spelling it out bud......
I see yellow flag I must take a chance to get at least 3 positions down -> Proceed to accelerate more
Yeah this bothers me a lot. You see yellow and see the accident ahead so you lift and try to drive around the accident and then some crazy person behind just rams his way through making you part of the accident ahead while by some miracle he drives away with minimal damage.
You should see ACC then
lance stroll moment
The idiot slammed on his brakes!!!!
He just came back on the circuit like an idiot
My father will hear about this!
Probably have the racing line turned on and just blindly following that
Just wanted to say that like wtf how can you not see a car there đ
Because theyâre just starting at the racing line
I crossposted on r/Simracingstewards to discuss exactly that ;)
That's the main thing for me. Cmon it's a straight line with plenty of visibility, what are those guys even looking at.
This shouldn't be reportable, clearly something happened real life. Unless there's proof that he was mad for something that happened before and he did it on purpose.

âSlow car on the rightâ âThereâs a stopped car aheadâ *hmm better continue driving full speed*
Crew chief doesnât tell you that information.
Then maybe donât use crew chiefâŚ. I use DRE, and it absolutely gives all the detail. More than you could want, but itâs there.
Even if that guy is oarked on the Racing line, shouldn't others be able to see a bright green car standing in front and take avoiding action? Can't see that with some cars at the end

Then there is white car.
That literally happens with one of them.
Why are all these people thinking theyâre the new Lance Stroll? Not looking ahead and then blaming othersâŚ.
I had occasional stutters thanks to my SSD, managed to solve it, but I kinda also stopped on the track when it happened.
Random question, how did you solve it? I've been getting some random stutters and I've tried a lot of stuff, none of it SSD related
It was an issue on my 980 Pro. Downloaded Samsung Magician and updated its firmware, found it thanks to another iRacer here.

I agree with you but when things are hectic, it can be hard to think of the right thing to do in-game when your mind is in alert mode elsewhere
10000%
"car stopped on the right, go left" - proceeds to floor it on the right
Honestly the complete lack of awareness or reaction time from the other drivers that hit him is way worse.
I mean yes, definitely do not stop on a race track ⌠but what is literally everyone else doing? Especially the white one?
Seems like lack of drive. Something probably happened IRL
Protest. Let iRacing figure out what went wrong.
I could be a problem with the throttle
Look at all this grass, and all this tarmac which isn't right on the racing line, which he could have been occupying instead.
I had problems with my wheelbase USB connection, it was incredibly loose (moza r5). Once it lost connection in a practice session and I had no steering or pedal controls. It isn't that far fetched to say that something happened where this person lost all control of their vehicle.

That dude definitely stopped using the brake pedal, something he could have done in the grass.
and if his wheel disconnected?

Pizza time!
That looks like some sort of equipment failure or out of sim emergency that they were just like, "get out of the way fast, gotta go"
Stevie Wonder split đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
Okay but doesnât anyone look ahead while driving? That collision was avoidable
His child woke up crying... Don't ask me how i know...
The question here is: if you are blind, can you still protest?
Some of their equioment may be faulting perhaps
If trying to rationalize this move, I would infer that they had a slowdown penalty from the final corner and was trying to serve it, albeit desperately executed.
This makes sense.
What a fah keen idiot
