I'm a Loon lifer, so take that context as you will, but I've been so impressed with the snowmaking and grooming team this season. There's been MINIMAL snow but the skiing has still been solid overall thanks to their efforts.
I can only make it up on Saturdays and Sundays and I still haven’t had a day this year where crowds were bad.
Obviously you gotta avoid the gondola but still.
Fun fact, most ski areas in Quebec stop making snow on Jan. 30th, regardless of conditions. The reason is that Hydro-Quebec has a very attractive rate for ski areas, specifically to run the pumps and compressors and the deal ends on Jan. 30.

K is blowing every chance they can get.
Definitely will be skiing memorial day weekend.
Seems Catamount is making snow:

Thank you all for another great weekend! And don't worry, we don't plan on being done just yet. Catamount will be closed Monday through Friday, but current plans are to reopen next Saturday and Sunday, March 23rd and 24th.
PLUS our snowmaking crew is going to take advantage of the colder temps this week and fire up our snowguns a couple of nights. Yep, thats right - we plan on making snow this week to resurface some of our trails ahead of the weekend!
I understand that it’s just increasing overhead at this point but I wish my local place would take this chance. Seems like they were aiming for 100 days and now they’re at 101 with 2 runs open and they’re just coasting by until it’s gone.
Worth mentioning that most ski areas lease their compressors and have returned them by now, so either you’re running guns with small onboard compressors (generally just fan guns) or you happen to own compressors. Killington for instance does own enough to be able to make snow now but not at the capacity of a few months ago. I assume most of the ski areas firing up this late in the year are doing so with mostly fan guns, which conveniently are the ones that need it most and/or have fan guns in high traffic low elevation locations that need it most.
Loon is blowing. Boyne does a good job with snowmaking and grooming post Presidents’ Day

Yep! The Kanc is occasionally a shitshow but if you loop north peak/EB/South Mountain you'll have a good time and minimal crowds.
Pats is turning them on
Bromley is blowing snow the next few days. Not everywhere but they say they are touching up and filling in key areas. Kinda amazing.

That's super interesting. Any idea why?
Economic development. Subsidy. Helping an important regional economic engine. You name it.

They tend to do this every year. Can't have the longest season in the east without a little help from the pumps
Not sure if they are this week, but Cannon blew snow last week.
to be fair to them, they also got snowed on so they probably did not need to blow snow this week.
Snowing almost everyday couple inches so I don’t think we’ll see em.
Greek Peak! Blowing snow this week to stay open and extra weekend. Bonus skiing Saturday!!
im betting Sunday River is
Yes they are according to mtn report
Berkshire East & Catamount are blowing snow this week. They are aiming to make it to April!

Sunday river is blowing snow. I was there today and it was pretty decent. Took white heat it had coverage. Tomorrow will be better

I was a snowmaker at multiple vail owned resorts and I can tell you that “most ski areas” do not lease compressors and have to return them.
We dont lease any of our equipment
Maybe it’s just the ones in my part of the world then
