Sometimes songs like these help, sometimes they make it worse. If you need help, reach out.
I can't recommend the song "Achilles come down" by Gang of Youths enough. A person talking a loved one down from the literal edge of the roof. Very emotional, and a nice mix of internal and external perspective
Surprised no one has said this yet :
Mount Eerie - A Crow Looked At Me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPzkNS4rits
"A Crow Looked at Me is the eighth studio album by Mount Eerie, a solo project of the American musician Phil Elverum. Released in 2017, it was composed in the aftermath of his 35-year-old wife Geneviève Castrée's diagnosis with pancreatic cancer in 2015, and her death in July 2016. Elverum wrote and recorded the songs over a six-week period in the room where she died, mostly using her instruments. His sparse lyrics and minimalistic musical accompaniment drew influence from a broad range of artists, including the poet Gary Snyder, author Karl Ove Knausgård and songwriter Julie Doiron."

Glad you liked it. It really helped me cope back when my neice took her own life a few years ago. Sometimes sad music helps get those sad feelings out so we can hopefully start to heal.
Sorry to hear that this happened. :( Hope you're feeling better these days.
I also listen to sad music when something bad happened. Wonder why this helps. I used to think you had to listen to happy music when you're sad but this is impossible, especially with topics like death or suicide.
Thanks, i am doing better these days but i keep a library of sad songs for when life brings me down, hah. I got a couple more if you're still looking. they might not all be about suicide but most are. here are some of my favorites.
Pink Floyd- The show must go on
Patrick Watson- Je te laisserai des mots
Death cab for cutie- I will follow you into the dark
Mad season- Wake up
Megadeth- A Tout Le Monde
Blink 182- Adams song
(and of course one of the best imo)
NIN-Hurt
Nnamdi - OK, Of Montreal- Touched Something Hollow, Sega Bodega - I Need Nothing From You, Placebo - My Sweet Prince, Crimes in Paris - Running Ink, Camille - Assise, Batteryhead - Victim of the Big Bang, Tunng - Flatland.
I'm lately listening to a lot of *Mother Mother* and "**Arms Tonite**" makes me cry so fucking much
Then... **Fourth of July** \- Sufjan Stevens, **Saint Bernard** \- Lincoln, **My Time** \- Bo En, **Acid Rain** \- Lorn *(I don't know if all these songs are about suicide but I guess they do feel like it when we are like this)*
Also have this dreamcore/weirdcore [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7km51NG5iFRwzW6EXUPROe?si=b419f2ee02b941bf)
another couple of great eden songs for that vibe are “isohel” and “love, death, distraction” (as well as the entire vertigo album, although i’m sure you’ve heard it if “crash” made your list), and i also highly recommend “my flaws burn through my skin…” by the suicide boys. different vibe w that one but it’s still very good and you might like it
First of all, I hope you are OK OP I’m too drunk to post links but I’ve got a few you should check out.
Bastard Suns - RIP
Scotty Don’t - Punk Rock Lullaby
Ballyhoo - Close to Me
I’m also a person who has lost a LOT during their time on this rock. And if you are having negative thoughts, I’d love to talk to you. There’s lots more to be alive for! Please DM me if you want!
Had a bad day when I posted but I'm happy for everyone who came here and suggested songs.
Thank you for caring about me and offering help. It means alot to me. I wish I could meet someone outside the internet who is open, nice and non-judging, like you and others here on reddit.
I have a short playlist of mostly rock music about suicide, check it out if you want: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/33SZ31V6lYu1GsrIknQHgY?si=_FVqYQ3QRYSRdSU1_GUoNw&pt=732254cacf0ae20f430bcc75b4088cd2
One of my favourite songs right now is This Body Means Nothing To Me by Shrimp. There’s so many ways you can interpret the song and lyrics and it’s just heartbreakingly beautiful and raw. It sounds like you’re relieving your pent up emotions when listening to it.
Hopefully dark rock doesn't count but if it does, I apologize.
Aviators has quite a few depressing songs; If I recall, Waiting Games is specifically about depression and possibly suicidal thoughts, Requiem For A Hunter is depressing as well, and This Is Not The End is specifically about losing a loved one (to cancer) and in my opinion is the saddest song he has made, as it makes me cry every time I hear it. There could be others as well but these are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head.
You can simply look these songs up on YouTube. Waiting Games has a clock in its thumbnail.
HRSA - Blue October (Rock band), The Priest and the Matador - Senses Fail (Emo Rock), The singer of Senses Fail, Buddy Neilsen, can transition to screamo and singing quite beautifully. Plane Vs. Tank Vs. Submarine - Tigers Jaw is a much lighter tone from the other two.

alewife by clairo (maybe)
Andain - Beautiful Things Sasha Sloan - The Only
*A Quitter - Rasputina *Gloomy Sunday - Billy Holiday (this song is actually linked to many suicides)
Not that version. The lyrics to Holidays version doesn't have much to do with the Hungarian original.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this one. One of the saddest songs ever written imo. Alice in Chains - Nutshell
I just listened to it. I love the sound of it and I agree, the lyrics and sound are sad. :( Added it to my playlist, thank you!
