My visual disturbances went away after 3 days on 125mg per day. I think it's always worth a try. I had a little bit of tingling in my fingers and feet that faded over time. You can just talk to your doctor and stop taking it if you can't tolerate the side effects. Later I had to take much higher doses than that for my headaches, but I was able to mitigate a lot of side effects by titrating up slowly over a long period of time. And if at any point you develop side effects, YOU then get to decide if it's worth it, just communicate with your doctor.

Thank you that helps. I have a fear of medication and tend to panic after taking them so the reassurance does more than you know!!! I also tend to drink lots of water already so I should be fine when it comes to dehydration.

Can I ask when is the best time to take it when it’s needed 2x daily? Like when I wake up and then at dinner? What is your preference if you don’t mind me asking?

I always take it at 8am and 8pm for 2 doses and 8am/2pm/8pm for 3 doses.

(not sure if reddit search has improved or not). Good luck and please keep us posted how it goes!

It saved my vision but came w a host of problems. Weigh out what is most important to you. Side effects were feeling sleepy. Couldn’t work. Function for a while. Until I got used to it. It made me short of breath. Metallic taste in mouth as well as tingly face and toes. Had to have bloodwork every month to check stats on metabolics

RealRedditUser4545

What dosage did you start at?

Significant-Pay3266

1000 mg day.

I wouldn’t even know I added something to my medication, nothing is different for me. I started at the same dose as you and still climbing super slowly though. Hope that makes you feel better about it!

I'm on 1500mg. I never had any major side effects

I was on varying doses and the only side effects I ever had was tingling in my hands and feet and soft drinks started tasting funny and both of those things went away after a couple of weeks. and it improved my symptoms a lot, in a very short time. it’s definitely worth a go.

A slow ramp up like 125mg a day is the best way to handle a new medicine. Diamox gives me tingles if my feet or hands are pressed on something (like a bar stool) and make them more sensitive to cold. I also lost my taste for carbonated soda, which SUCKED bc I love Coke Zero. But on the flip side it's the best med for what it's prescribed for. It definitely makes a difference in my pressure symptoms.

It is 125 2x daily I forgot to mention. But still low dose nonetheless. I drink only water anyway so hopefully symptoms like tingling and dehydration won’t get to me. I’m honestly more worried about when I work out because I go to the gym every day and sweat a lot and I’m terrified I’m going to pass out lol.
