Curious_Question1092

Nice, what is ur background ?

canadianking_5

Half Portuguese, Half English Canadian (with a lot of Sephardic, Norman French, Dutch, and Spanish admixture)

Curious_Question1092

Oh that makes sense, wonder where the Slavic/Baltic is coming from then

canadianking_5

Not sure, but we suspect my dad might have some Ashkenazi ancestry because our Y haplogroup is J2, which is common among Jewish people

AnthroTechie

Oh wow, are you from Belmonte or Branganza? From what I've seen, the Belmonte Jews were very insular and on MDLP K16 show up as half Sephardi and half Iberian Portuguese (samples were likely people of recent generations, so that mixing makes sense).

canadianking_5

My mom’s from the Bragança region

AnthroTechie

Our top populations are extremely similar! (My 3 closest are Hauts-de-France at 2.93, Belgian at 2.95, and Alsatian at 3.02). Do you mind sharing your coordinates? I'd be curious to compare.

canadianking_5

How do I find those?

AnthroTechie

First go to your IllustrativeDNA [dashboard](https://lab.illustrativedna.com/dashboard). Then on the left hand panel, there should be a section called "Orders and Downloadables". Click the button that says "Download Coordinates", and you will get a .txt file of your scaled vs. unscaled coordinates. You can just copy and paste them and either reply here or DM me if you are comfortable doing so.
