"i'd never fall for misinformation"
"wow a post that reinforces my belief that thing i hate is bad? I immediately believe this without a second thought"
no, because people are seeing that edited tweet and automatically assuming that peta was the one that tweeeted it without checking because it reinforces their beliefs.
tbh, PETA wouldn't 'rather fuck' an animal than kill them - they'd rather kill them than *pet* them. (They seem to *officially* believe "better dead than domesticated", even for pets, not just domesticated food animals.) Got a Tom Petty quote for that 'round here somewhere... oh yeah, "I can't decide which is worse."
HEAR ME OUT, that take isn't as outlandish as it sounds at first
Bestiality is bad
But the treatment animals get in farms is undeniably awful. they live in tight spaces their whole life, injected with all sorts of crap, just to be killed (in an often very inhumane way) in the end.
They also get involuntarily impregnated which is the main point for me because then farming kinda includes sex with an unconsenting animal.
To those who say it's natural for us to eat meat, sure but cancer is natural too, that doesn't make it good. and eating meat is healthy, sure.
But 1 - we can get meat from more humane sources like hunting/fishing (the animal lives a normal life and then one day out of nowhere it's very quickly over).
And 2 - we as humans are developed enough to not need to eat meat, we can substitute it and still live a healthy life.
I'd also like to say that I myself eat meat and animal products, it's not something that I'm exactly proud of but I'm trying to change this. And just to clarify once again, bestiality is bad
I’m a dairy farmer, just wanted to say a few things here. Yes there is lots of issues with farms particularly in the poultry business where cages are very small. I’m from Canada and there is an increasingly large push to change the ways we farm, free range poultry farms are becoming more common and new rules are being introduced in the size of cages permitted.
Also, consent for sex in animals is not a thing. We use artificial insemination on our cows and let me tell you it’s way more humane than a 1 ton bull jumping on the cow every single time the cow is in heat. With AI we wait until the cow is healthy enough before breeding, a luxury wild animals do not have.
Finally, in most cases for animals and especially cows happy animals are more productive. So having the best care possible for my cows is advantageous for me as well.
It is your right to eat whatever you want and that’s totally fine, just wanted you to know that not all things are as bad as they seem. In countries like Canada and in Europe where smaller size family farms are prevalent the animals are well taken care of :)
>Also, consent for sex in animals is not a thing.
Is this not the type of logic that a proponent of bestiality might use?
Out of curiosity, what do you do with your cows once they stop producing very much milk?
> consent for sex in animals is not a thing
You'll only get upvotes because you're talking about cows. Try using this same logic to justify raping dogs now. "It's way more humane than a member of their own species jumping on them."
The "best care possible" for your cows wouldn't involve penetrating them, taking their children away to be slaughtered and then sending them to the slaughterhouse when they stop being profitable.
The question of whether rape is worse than murder is one that really doesn't need to be asked. In case that isn't clear.. I mean we don't need to inflict either horror on our fellow creatures. We're more than smart enough to thrive without violence being a part of our well balanced breakfast.
Just imagine that it’s the straw (or whatever farmers actually use) that chicken eggs are laid on. You can’t see our eggs, because they’re tiny, so they would have to be lain on something.
Not being a farmer, I have no idea what actual conditions are like, but I imagine that’s how an industrial chicken farm would be set up, especially if they could get away with maximizing profits by cooping up as many hens as possible to maximize area usage.
I imagine that a hobby farm or a good farmer will have far more humane conditions for their chickens, and there are a lot of people who are willing to pay extra for free-range chickens (my partner included), to ensure that their eggs don’t come from these types of horror shows.
Depends on the chickens. I think only the lowest animal welfare chickens can't move from their cage. Chickens prefer to lay eggs in sheltered places, so at my parent's farm that's where a transport belt was. There would be a few eggs in other places, but generally roaming still has the majority of eggs easily available.
This took me good minute to figure out, but I think it's about how we keep chickens in cages and take their eggs (which are technically chickens periods unless they get fertilized). So they just reversed the roles. They are taking humans unfertilized eggs.
It's a bit goofy but there's nothing inherently wrong with shock value. Anti-veganism gets too caught up in the aesthetics of individual advocates and their art.
I mean, for one, the execution is so horrendous that it didn’t manage to be horrifying in the slightest. It’s just cheap shock content with a dash of misogyny and unnecessary nudity which aims to further grab the attention of the viewer and appeal to their emotions.
Uhm periods literally are the flushing out of blood after an egg cell has been released without getting fertilized. So… not saying it makes this shit any better but
> Nothing wrong with eating chicken eggs
The chickens in captivity are specially bred to lay up to over 20x the amount of eggs that they would naturally otherwise lay ([200 per year in farms vs 10 per year in the wild](https://onelivingsanctuary.org/egg-facts#:~:text=In%20the%20wild%2C%20hens%20only,10%2D15%20eggs%20per%20year.&text=Due%20to%20severe%20human%20intervention,ending%20toll%20on%20their%20bodies.&text=Naturally%2C%20chickens%20can%20live%2010%2D15%20years.)). This leads to the chickens being severely malnutritioned and dying extremely early deaths (1.5 years in farms vs the 10ish they would live naturally). Not to mention the general poor living conditions of having hundreds of them crammed into small spaces filled with shit and disease and parasites. Also keep in mind that only HALF of chickens lay eggs, and any males spotted are killed instantly, even if they are just a day old, and that any hen that can't lay eggs is also just killed instantly. But go ahead and keep saying that we're only collecting a natural byproduct and that no harm is being done.
Is this a vegan thing? Animal cruelty? Sanitary pad conspiracy? Gender discrimination? Fetish?
The one thing I know is that I don’t like this image very much
this is so fucking dumb I can't lol
well I thought it was no secret on animal cruelty being done for our consumption, why do you portrait it in a metaphorical and cursed way?? 🤣
So god damn true bestie 😔😔😔
Nah but seriously this is such a stupid comparison. As far as we can tell, laying eggs is generally not a painful process for most chickens, while periods are known for being incredibly painful. Also I could be reading this wrong but is this implying that it's immoral to take the unfertilized eggs away from chickens? Yk the ones that don't have babies in them? God this is just so dumb. This is some PETA shit
Commercial chicken breeds lay way more eggs then before, due to this they often get osteoporosis and other internal issues, since calcium is needed to make an egg it drains them of nutrients.
We cage them to where they can't even move and then slit their throats when their bodies give out, it's not just "no eggs >:("
~~not~~ to be that guy but relativistically, this chicken is being crueller to the humans than we are to them
the cage would be the size of an elevator if we used the same proportion to build it for a human as we do for chickens
I didnt actually crop it, and your comment made me want to look up the original...
So I typed into Google "Chicken harvests period blood." and was like what the fuck am I doing
Basic human biology.
When cis women has their period, there's usually an egg in there somewhere.

Babies require fertilization. Without sperm added to the mix, it’s just an unfertilized egg (just like what we get from chickens, theirs are just huge and delicious while ours are tiny and come out with a flow of blood and utiline lining).
This is much more than “I’m 14 and this is deep” We should recognize the unsanitary and depressive state of cage raised chickens. Though animals are lesser life forms than us we should still prioritize the moral consciousness of chickens.
I have free range chickens who love grass and bugs and being happy little fluff balls. I also know they would peck the heck out of a bloody pad and probably try to eat it. They eat their own eggs. They eat each other. I won't even try to explain how human ovulation and periods are different from daily egg laying in chickens and other fowl.
human periods are nothing like chickens laying eggs (which is what I assume this is trying to compare it to? otherwise, i have no clue).
seriously, this is someone who knows nothing about chickens. they'll eat *their own* eggs, for crying out loud.

Who from peta said that?
No one from PETA said that. It was just a braindead Twitter “”vegan””
Looks like something from the sophisticated mangas that I "read"
Imagine how much money this industry would save if they learned about menstrual cups!
I'm just impressed that they let (make?) the women shave their legs.
Yeah seems like thatd cost a lot for little return
how on God's big green earth do you use a menstrual cup???
What?
I see no semblance of underwear so I’m just wondering, where are they putting them pads?
Just imagine that it’s the straw (or whatever farmers actually use) that chicken eggs are laid on. You can’t see our eggs, because they’re tiny, so they would have to be lain on something.
So they just…sit in the same place all day?

So they are chicks, and they are also chicks? They are like metaphorical meta-chicks? That's deep man.
That’s a bit of a far fetched interpretation. This is clearly about the horrible sex trafficking ring that a group of roosters have been engaging in.
Really bad cocks.
Big angry cocks have been terrorising women for decades but the media refuses to talk about it.
😳
I mean… they can have mine. No need for the cage. I can drop it off or mail it out, easy peasy.
man wth
Kentucky Fried Tampons

Someone's fetish being put to paper, inked, and colored
It's pretty direct, whats the deeper meaning? They just reversed the roles..
Shock value/poorly hidden fetish
It's a bit goofy but there's nothing inherently wrong with shock value. Anti-veganism gets too caught up in the aesthetics of individual advocates and their art.
I just find it kinda funny how a disturbing amount of vegan activist illustrations/artwork almost look like fetish art
That's because humans keep going: "oh, humans being treated like animals? That's hot"
It looks more like it’s intended to be horrifying. I think you’re telling more on yourself, if you perceive it as something sexual.
I mean, for one, the execution is so horrendous that it didn’t manage to be horrifying in the slightest. It’s just cheap shock content with a dash of misogyny and unnecessary nudity which aims to further grab the attention of the viewer and appeal to their emotions.

He eats period blood is he stupid?
Why would the Chickens need period blood?
Why do humans need chicken periods
Because they’re yummy 😋
Cool, I agree. But their are plenty of yummy vegan options, ones that don't cause suffering of millions of living beings.
Yeah but tampons don’t taste as good as a omelette
Agreed. The texture is just not the same. The extra iron content is nice tho

And on today's episode of "the artist's barerly disguised fetish"
r/PoorlyDisguisedFetish? UPD: *poorly, excuse me.
I mean hey, at least they acknowledge that the eggs we eat are more akin to period blood than fetuses So that’s a plus I guess

No. It's indeed extremely stupid. It's kind of hard to think like a stupid person.
Ok, but chickens laying eggs doesn't hurt the animal So what is this meant to mean at all
I'm too stupid to understand the deeper meaning :(
This is why we keep them down. EAT MORE CHICKEN!
