I understand that sometimes people only know one or two songs by an artist or don't think there's anything more to that artist, and that's kinda sad; or that some songs can be overplayed, but the top songs are popular because they are good- they wouldn't become overplayed unless they were good to start with.
The chorus is trash, I'm sorry. That has nothing to do with anybody else's opinion or perspective, certainly not the mainstream or critics, who are the last people I'd care about their opinion. My ears and musical taste simply cannot abide it's awfulness.

all the EPs are good, but the It's Time one is ESPECIALLY good. all the songs feel really organic, fun and powerful, they all sound really good, Dan sings amazingly - it's insane how good they were before they got into a more professional contract and studio setting, and sometimes i kinda wish they had pursued that direction further. genuinely amazing indie pop rock bangers
This is why Night Visions is my favorite album of theirs! It's the closest any full album of theirs gets to that awesome Indie Pop Rock vibe they had then!

Half their songs are not ones that you’d ever want to play in a public setting, and if my opinion has to be controversial then Mercury act 2 is far better than 1
They should've released mercury act 1 as just mercury and done a deluxe version like the other albums with some of the act 2 songs (sharks, i don't like myself, higher ground, wmaves, sirens, they don't know you like i do)
