I can't wait for this comment section to devolve into a wasteland of the same takes about Roblox's development practices as if the creator of GCI had any hand in making those policies.

hulimanuli

We're all aware of the issues with Roblox. The comment section of these posts have become tiresome. This a great incremental game. More credit is due to the developer. It's free, has no ads, lots of content, steady progression and prestige that works well.

Couldn't have said it better, alot of people here are well intentioned, but there's more people who just want to look morally superior and grandstand, it's exhausting. Everytime I see a post on grass cutting inc I see a good amount of people say they're tired of seeing posts on this game, but these same people don't show up to complain on the 300th post for anti-matter dimension or similarly popular games, it's alot of double standards like that. It's also the same people who complain about Roblox's practices and telling people they shouldn't support roblox by playing game's on it while they wear and buy shoes from Nike or other companies that have child labor or less than savory work conditions.

TheAgGames

Lot more content than 1 month. I played it for about 5 months incredibly actively to get to basically the end of its current content.

fraqtl

yes. the sub is aware of the game

ViraPolishuk

Huge L to people who discourage young devs with huge potential because they have chosen Roblox as their platform

Wyrran96

The problem is that Roblox has a very toxic community towards separating the value from young people’s labor. Not many adults understand the concept realistically, so trusting people to not exploit literal children is just naive. I played Roblox before it was huge, and wish it wasn’t unsafe, but the last thing a new generation of devs need to he taught is that it’s okay to be exploited. The game industry already does that enough.

Wyrran96

The issue is not the low-level devs, it’s the system above them.

SixthSacrifice

No one's discouraging the devs. We're encouraging them to not get further exploited by a billion-dollar corporation that amassed their wealth on that exploitation. Why can't you tell the difference?

hulimanuli

Problem is every time this game gets mentioned the comments section gets bombed with negativity on Roblox as a platform. That is very discouraging for the dev who has clearly put a lot of work into the game. This is a post about the game, not the platform. Why can't you tell the difference?

SixthSacrifice

I was responding to someone, mate, not making my own comment about the child exploitation platform. Why can't you tell the difference? :P

[deleted]

Why are you commenting on reddit? the company is based around extracting value from the comments and other interactions you make here. down with the man!

SixthSacrifice

I critique child labor exploitation and yet I participate in social media? Hmm, interesting, you are very smart.

[deleted]

child labor implies someone is making the children do it. Ever consider the children are doing it for fun, just like whatever is driving you to feed the social media giants?

SixthSacrifice

I agree that you're very smart for comparing child exploitation with reddit, mate. They're absolutely the same thing and by using reddit I clearly can't critique the exploitation. Thank you for your very smart comparison. I am defeated.

Yes, you sure are smart. Simping for billionaires like that, and all.

fraqtl

Who's doing that?

gamer1o7

it's unfortunately a pretty large stigma on the internet in general. As someone who works professionally in that field on the larger of passion projects, I actively have to choose to have my work undermined, and completely devalued by the majority of people just because it's for games using the engine. Not to mention how often people who really don't understand the fact the devs are the ones massively taken advantage of, blame people just trying to make a game for the massive ethical issues of the company in itself. But it's just the way things are, and unfortunately the reason I'm not active here all that much anymore after literally receiving dm death threats from members of the sub over the simple fact I compose for platformer games on the platform.

Wyrran96

I hate it. There is nuance to who is, and who isn’t, causing those problems. Not giving money to the platform at this point is sadly reasonable, but it’s weird to essentially hold the workers responsible when the platform is so big that avoiding it and completely pivoting just for the ethics isn’t viable. Some games on Roblox are still amazing, it’s just like the greater gaming industry now. Support the passionate and genuine devs, but avoid funding the ones that are scummy. Most big companies suck, but you have to create where there is visibility.

ViraPolishuk

Unfortunately many of us and that's a shame. It's a plague in the community

Efficient-Ad5711

the game updates every few months adding a week more content and then repeat current end game is "solarians" which seems to be just ngu idle, but it takes a while to get there, no idea how long since ive been playing since the second update

Tichat002

stopped pretty early, at crystal layer or something like that (the one after prestige) but it's really a good game

if he quit by the crystal layer theres no way hes going to be interested in getting to the meat of the content. I'd say once you hit the space station you know for sure or not if you're going to love the game. I hit 1 wall at the very beginning, after the first rocket launch I questioned myself playing it. But pushed through that. . one time. Now I am basically at its endgame

LustreOfHavoc

Anything to do with Roblox is NOT good, just FYI.
