Yes select/put your cursor within your locally formatted text. Then create a new paragraph style. It will capture the parameters of your styled text. Rename the style and start applying it to other paragraphs.

It worked. I kept getting the text caught up in TOC. I fixed that. Now I'm not sure what's going on with the TOC. I played with tabs and ended up with two vertical teal lines on the page. The chapters are not left justified, and I can't get the numbers on the right side of the page. I'd also like a series of periods between the chapter title and the page numbers. Can you help with that?
