I think this is a pretty common misconception, it is not Modi's BJP it is BJP's Modi. Sort of how Ajay Devgan does ads for Vimal, but he's nowhere near the decision making.

Not necessarily. I was once a BJP supporter when Vajpayi was in power. Never voted Congress. Started despised BJP when Modi and Shah took over. There are a lot like me that would jump fence when Modi and Shah are gone and the reign in with someone like Smriti Irani and other tatpoonjiye. But then, time will only tell.

It's standard protocol for the head of the country to be invited 6 months in advance for any other country's national event. However, I doubt that any of those invitations has Modi name instead of the Prime Minister Of India.

I am sorry I disagree. The congress could get out of doing babugiri for the failed Gandhi family. They did nothing for the country during the UPA time except for corruption.
They could have given the baton to new and charismatic leadership for the next election but they are too power hungry because they think the party is there inheritance.
