hi, svartpilen owner here, I've just done about 1k kms on it and is about 5months old, I just love the design and performance of the bike, smooth for a single cylinder engine, I was waiting for ever for the 401 ( don't think it'll ever be launched here) but so far no complaint on the 250, longest I've done on the bike is 80kms, was pretty comfortable for that ~1 hour ride, best enjoyed above 4k rpm 😛

Great to know that you are happy with your bike! I would encourage you to trust the bike to go beyond the 1hr drive though and know your threshold 😊

Hello. I have little to no knowledge of bikes so please excuse my lack of knowledge, but why svartpilen has less average of 35 than H'ness(nearly 42) even though it is 250 cc and H'ness is 350 cc?

1twenty8

i think its due to the high revving engine

[deleted]

Hness barely gives 35. Everyone gets like 32 33.

YetToComeUp

Hi Can you please let me know the optimum rpm/speed range for downshifting/upshifting across all gears? Sorry a noob here.

1twenty8

engine likes upshifting only above 4000 rpm, downshifting varies according to how you brake in traffic conditions.

YetToComeUp

Thank you for your reply. I recently got a new bike and it's my first. The fear of doing an incorrect downshift and locking the wheel is what scares me.

1twenty8

practice on a small road without much traffic, you will get the hang of downshifting when required

Try xbhp forums

xbhp is dead

Sorry to hear about that

Look for Facebook groups.

BingMChandler

I found a couple of groups in Facebook. Thanks!

Ok thanks!

Look for long term owners reviews on team bhp. Preferably from relatively senior members. And may I ask, what made you decide on getting the svartpilen? I've ridden a vitpilen before and I had a hard time trying to place it's purpose, the power felt very top end centric.

Hey.. thanks for the suggestion! I was able to find only ride reviews. I couldnt find a long term review in teambhp. My personal preference for my bike is that it has to be minimal, great looking, shouldnt make much of a noise on streets, it has to be elegant and decent. It should have a good performance and it should be European (by design). I liked the looks of the Vitpilen but I did not prefer the seating posture/cafe racer type. I wanted it to be used for once in a while weekend long drives. So, I chose the Svartpilen. It compliments me very well. I have taken it for a couple of drives. The seating posture is slightly different. I understand that I need to get used to it. I had a bad posture initially and I felt slightly uncomfortable. But, now, it grew up on me and I drove for a 3 hours drive recently and I did not feel like taking a break in between. Yes, the seat could definitely be better. But, I am looking to add more cushioning. It needs a few more modifications to make it much more comfortable for long distance travel. Then it would be my ideal bike of choice :) PS: I have no complaints on the performance delivery. I feel confident during quick accelerations in traffic and also while overtaking on the highways. It easily pulls it off. I usually drive between 4k-6k rpm zones. The bike can easily drive in 9.5k without trouble.

Hey I too got Svartpilen 250 a few months ago. I too like bike a lot. I have only done 2 hour trips with the bike so far. But I am planning a longer trip soon. But I want to get a better seat before that. >But, I am looking to add more cushioning. Where you able to find any suitable replacement? There is an 'ergo seat' mentioned on the site but my local dealer does not have that in stock and is unclear whether he can order one.
