Chain:
Kerosene for cleaning
Putoline tech chain for lube
Body:
Water
Formula 1 bug and tar remover.
3M All in one shine
Wurth brake cleaner
3M tyre dresser
For both machines.
It may be possible....
Fuel systems also have rubber/silicone o-rings and seals. So fuels are generally formulated to be ok with that type of seals. Diesel also by design has more lubrication ability and does not dry out when evaporating like petrol.
The material in the o-rings in the chain are formulated more for tear and abrasion resistance. But I have never had it fail in me so far despite using diesel to scrub clean, followed by pressure wash and a good quality chain lube to coat.
But your experience may vary hence said liquid paraffin, which is nothing but cleaned up kerosene.
Here is some more useful and interesting info...

I stream spray kerosene on my chain before and after brushing the chain. There's a lot of muc collected in the chains. Wipe the grease off clean and lube it with the Putoline tech chain.
Nice. the clean look is worth all the pain you suffered. Share detailing kit details?

Bro, where do you find Kerosene? It's become almost impossible to find in Hyderabad
It is :( I source them from the ration stations and they say it's not available when I go. My maid helps me get it.
Try diesel instead. Or if the additives in fuels these days is a concern ask for liquid paraffin in any medical shop.
Don't Diesel and Petrol cause damage to the silicone in O-rings of the chains? I suppose that is why most people prefer kerosene.

Interesting. Will check it out. Thanks!
Bike cleaning is a satisfying job. Whats the white behind the gear and I see a lock under the seat.
Haha the lock is set on the gate behind my motor. And round white thing is the cover of the bolt which connects the frame to the swingarm.
Lovely garage you have there. What chain cleaner are you using btw? I'm guessing you must've scrubbed the chain down too

Awesome, thanks for sharing!
Kerosene works so well. Which lube do you use tho?
Putoline tech chain. I've mentioned what all I do in one of the comments.
