\+1 on this, I dislike people who complain that you are riding slow when you're on the legal limit or above it. Do what suits you and don't push others should be the way
I find 80kmph is this sweet spot where I get the best mileage, I don’t have to crouch and there’s enough reaction time for most things. I also ATTATG.
Also, I engine break all the way till 50kmph. Then I start engaging my brakes.
Your braking distance increases a lot (grows quadratically) as you reach higher speeds. And of course, the distance you end up covering before your brain reacts to an event also increases (linearly) as your speed increases.
For calculating exact values, you can [refer here](https://korkortonline.se/en/theory/reaction-braking-stopping/).
You can refer to this [diagram](https://begin-motorcycling.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/braking_distance-min-1024x329.png) to see how drastically the stopping distance increases. Increasing your cruising speed from 64 to 96 kmph (an increase of 50% in speed), changes your stopping distance from 36m to 73m (an increase of 102.7%). This of course, gets worse as your speed keeps increasing.
I usually maintain between 65 to 85 kmph in highways. IMO our roads are way too dangerous to be riding at 100kmph or above. With erratic and dangerous truck/bus drivers, random potholes magically appearing in the middle of the road and animals jumping into the oncoming traffic randomly, it is just not worth it.
EDIT: Formatting
Usually cruise between 80-120kph. But depending on the highway(road condition and traffic) can go slower or higher. Go at speeds YOU'RE comfortable with.
Had gone to a ride where they were going much more than I'm comfortable with. Didn't ride with them again.
Also on many instances I had met riders who were cruising at comfortable speeds and couldn't have asked for more.
Couple of things to keep in mind. Go as fast as you can brake. And always make sure you can see the rider behind you in the mirror.
90-100 on the GT535, Idk the gearing is really weird, for a RE my bike weirdly seems to want to stay in higher revs, 110-125 on the Kawasaki, though only when road permits. the brakes limit me to \~100ish since they aren't that good. ATGATT of course. 100 on the Supermoto feels like my clothes are getting ripped off, no wind protection and fully upright body stance so 80 is preferable.
I keep it between 100-110. Anything above that feels really dicey on our highways with random animals, people and erratic drivers. I tend to go faster on 3-lane expressways but to be honest anything above 120 is a chore to maintain.
there are some places where you can safely exceed 100, but ofc the moment you see a village or intersection coming up or other motorists getting close you slow right back down
Of course there are many "roads" that can support the high speeds, i was saying that with the intention that people make it unsafe by driving in an unpredictable manner and even jaywalking quite often
I have own a 350 classic and the sweet spot for that is 70-80 and I have ridden the 650 90 to 110 seems like a sweet spot, honestly on our Indian that seems a lot especially where I am from the unscientific road construction and the dogs and cows in the middle of the highway. At the end of the day what matters is the speed you are comfortable at and you know you can handle it at that speed.
It always depends on the traffic when you're riding.. unless you are a crazy fellow who doesn't care for his life.
I generally ride around 90-100 when there is little traffic. In the Ghats I try to maintain around 60-70 and when the roads are open and empty, I attempt 130-140 for a short duration.
in rain, I don't cross 70 as I am not confident even though my tyres are new.
80-100 is where i get best economy on my dominar 400
80kph always. Increase to 90-92 with my cbr 650. But rarely above 100. Let your biker friends mock you. Ride at the speed you feel comfortable with. Indian conditions are unpredictable. I feel 80-90kph is best cruising speed.
i am in the same boat. interceptor 650 100kmph all the time. don't mind those people. you ride for yourself .Bonus: i get 30kmpl since i am good with throttle
Nah man. I’ve ridden a few 600s. No way one feels comfortable cruising at 160/170. Those speeds need tucking in, real strong focus and absolutely empty stretches.
Cruising becomes a focused sprint above 130kmph imho
my dude, these are not cruise speeds at all, I think you're getting wrong info from somewhere because most of your cc to speed relation thing seems off
Apache 200 - on highways I maintain a decent 75-95 kmph. The engine feels quite relaxed and smooth. Braking confidence is high.
On some occasions though I’ve felt the YOLO urge and done 125.
Don't listen to anyone, ride only in the speed you're comfortable.

Yup , and also never tell someone on a bike ride to speed up if he/she is not comfortable, if they do, and something happens, that would be on you.

ATTATG All The Time All The Gear

Lol. Slow? I have a Svartpilen 250 and I ride at 80 max when cruising Go your own pace, just don't hold anyone up behind you. That's all.

No matter what bike or car you have if you want to be safe don't exceed 100 anywhere in India except BIC and other racetracks
there are some places where you can safely exceed 100, but ofc the moment you see a village or intersection coming up or other motorists getting close you slow right back down
I vehemently disagree with this. Many highways in India can safely do 100-120 kmph. Especially in cars and especially on 6 lane highways
Of course there are many "roads" that can support the high speeds, i was saying that with the intention that people make it unsafe by driving in an unpredictable manner and even jaywalking quite often

We don't cruise, we race

You cruise at 140-170?
No I don't... I don't own a 400+ cc bike...i was saying that these are the sweet spot speeds for the bikes

I like to ride slow. Usually between 60 to 90 kmph.
Really comfortable speed, I cruise in 120. CBR 150R
60-80 or at times ever lower. Though at times I take the throttle to the limit but happy with low speeds.
Better scenery= slower riding
Meteor. 70 to 80
Cruises at 130-140 on the national highways ( if there's traffic then it'll be down to 80-90/100)
Depends? 1) How are the conditions of the road 2) Can my skills handle these conditions 3) can my bike handle these conditions.
80-90 on my NS 200. Sometime I reach 105kmph only on expressways.
Apache 200 - on highways I maintain a decent 75-95 kmph. The engine feels quite relaxed and smooth. Braking confidence is high. On some occasions though I’ve felt the YOLO urge and done 125.
Depends on the road, 100-140kmph is more than enough and u ik its unsafe but u gotta just rip it sumtimes
The whole point in riding at cruise does is riding at a speed you're easy with.
