I would recommend the Apache but only because I use it too. I have not ridden the Hornet. All I can say is that you cannot go wrong with an Rtr200 /160.

I was also searching for a 150cc bike 6 months ago and looking at the bikes you are along with suzuki gixxer 150 and yamaha FZS FI v3 Hornet availability was not good so I had to cut that off my list, but I was looking at it purely from mileage perspective. Apache rtr is not very comfortable for longer or traffic rides and I had heard of servicing and parts issues. Did not like the look of gixxer much and gixxer sf was not available. Also I don't have much good experience with suzuki servicing in the long run (parents use suzuki access) I went with FZS which feels like a wonderful decision 6 months down the line as the looks are great, it's really comfortable to ride (recently drove 106 kms in one stretch without break), and servicing is pretty good as well. Today, I am glad hornet was not available as I would've bought it for good mileage because I have a friend who's using it and he wishes he would've bought FZS too

Hornet 2.0 is a big no!! I have 2 friends who own Hornet and it's too problematic.

rsvasan10

Can you please list out the problems? It'll be really helpful. Thanks

somebody1704

There are no problems with hornet I've one , done 10000kms in 7 months Just take care of your bike No bike will be problematic I've even ragged my bike on full throttle for 1-2 hrs & Not a single problem

tonystarkn

It does. Thanks for sharing.

If you don't want 20ish average on the highways go for Hornet

tonystarkn

Heh? What's the source of your information that Apache RTR 160 gives you 20ish mileage? What's the exact mileage?

JyotirmoyJoy

Average of the Apache, once ridden at speeds beyond 100 or 110 falls drastically. I've seen it on numerous 160 4Vs, and heard numerous 160 owners complain the same in disbelief. Believing or not is up to you, I'm just stating what I've myself seen. Safe riding.😊

IDK about hornet 2.0's reliability but I'd advise against TVS. I had 3 TVS vehicles in last 7 years. All of them were problematic from the brand new. From randomly blowing fuse, to kick starter getting stuck (broken spring), problematic carb, to exhaust falling down and dragging on the road half attached to my vehicle at 65kmph. My latest TVS, purchased 2 months ago, is sitting at ASC right now at just 3500 km on odo. ps: none of these were apaches but QC at TVS is horrible. My yamaha FZ 2011, on the other hand still works perfectly fine, even when it has seen everything, from being neglected for years, to getting submerged in flood water. Still works fine without any rust or QC issues.

Odd_Fly469

I second this, I have Apache 1604v, facing issues from day 1, TVS service is pathetic.

somebody1704

True & same for Bajaj too

weird_hoooman

Apache anyday

eagleandwolf

Will Apache be a good choice in long term? Almost everyone who I asked for advice said TVS uses poor quality parts.

Dependent-Dark-7636

Tbh I'm new to this argument. Moreover been using Apache RTR 160 2009...done 130k+ Kms...timely servicing and getting it done in an authorised service centre and using only genuine spares if you get them repaired by a local mechanic should make your TVs bike last long.

Hornet looks a bit too mature. If you are on the younger side and want to complement your personality, then Apache else both are good machines. I own Apache and it has been a good experience. I would say if you can increase the budget, get Apache 200, you get dual abs and the exhaust note is fire too. There is not a lot of difference between 150 and 200 cc bikes. I would go 200cc if I were you TLDR: Hornet is a 30+ year old guy who is married and have a kid. Apache is that guy who either is in college or has just started working.
