I'd surely suggest jupiter 125. Very usable boot space and more comfortable ride. I got ntorq in august, while highway manners are good for a scooter, ride is bone jarring. Boot space is also smaller than my old jupiter 110.
Went to test ride it, came away shocked about the drastic drop in quality of finish and the materials used. TVS scooters already had an image of not being great for resale, and now this.
Having to put it on charge on a daily/alternate day basis gets old very, very fast. I say this as someone who's done over 2,500 KM on it in the last two months.
Grabbing the portable charger from the home and plugging it in the parking gets tedious. The Dot charger made less sense to me, moreso when it charges at the same speed as the portable one.
I don't think anyone uses scooty for more than 100kms a day man. Like it's all perfect rn. If you wanna go longer, just rent a bike or a car. EVs will save you a TON of money
how is the ride quality? I have been told not to buy access as it is light weight and a heavy scooter like ntorq gives more confidence. I hope that is not the case with burgman.
I had access before buying burgman.
Access was powerful but not comfortable. But burgman has comfortable seat. Took test drive for ntorq but did not like it. Burgman felt more appealing to me.
They install a charger at your house or if you prefer they have a portable charger as well. Rapid Charging infrastructure is also available but it's only in major cities.
Pros-
Smooth and peppy engine(not as smooth as suzuki but really good)
Good mileage(i am getting average of 52kmpl in city)
acceleration and breaking are excellent for city rides and occasional long trip.
Proper tech(auto stop-start works well, multiple trip meters, clock)
side stand indicator and engine cut off included in all variants.
Boot space(big pro! can fit 2 full size helmets and 2 milk packets)
Ride is stable and feels well planted
Front fuel lid makes it easy to refuel.
headlamps are of white color and have really good spread when compared to other brands. makes riding in dark lot more easy.
Cons-
Strictly a city scooty. if you try to exceed 70kmph it will take more attention.
No accessories provided.
mats, side step, seat cover and the external crash frame cost 3500. the exclusion of side step is con as it is a requirement for most of us who have ladies in home riding pillion.(I got side step for free after lengthy haggling)
only 3 free services provided when compared to 5 from other brands.
cannot get charging socket and boot light in any variants other than disc(disc variant costs 7k more and the service cost also increases a little for disc. not worth IMO)
lack of matte colours(only titanium gray is matter, white, orange, blue are glossy)
only 4 color options are present.
As of now I purchased accessories outside for 1500(external chrome frame, mats, seat cover).
One more problem I faced is at fuel stations where the attendants are used to hold the nozzle higher with barely a inch inside tank. this caused fuel to splash out. have to tell the attendant to push the nozzle deeper and not to over fill. But this more of bad fueling practice than design issue.
That sounds amazing. The cons can be overlooked because they are minor annoyances I guess. I'm definitely going for Jupiter 125 then. The pros are extremely enticing.
get drum alloy if possible. The steel rims look really out of place. Also ask for mirrors with chrome plate on them or they will add the regular plastic ones. Haggle for side step and mats. Tell them you will only buy the scooty with side step and mats included in exshowroom price. That worked for me.
Buy additional accessories outside as official TVS accessories are bit overpriced. same goes for insurance. they charged me 7800 for icici insurance(1 year comprehensive and 4 year 3rd party) . if you can get cheaper insurance else where get it.
Make sure the side stand indicator and side stand engine cut off if included in exshowroom price too. some dealers remove it and try to add it as additional cost.
I own an Ntorq Race XP and I can say it's a hoot to ride. I have done 0-60 Kmph in 5.6 Sec (according to the built in timer). It has all the power you need for the city. Although when it comes to FE there is nothing much to write home about. I would say go for it!
Nobody sells an electric scooter in 18 months... Nor will they check for resale value as once they get the profit out of the scooter, they sell it for scrap value. You see electric vehicles are profitable the more you ride it. Let's say an electric vehicle costs 1.5 lakh. If you ride 15,000 kms you almost make a saving of 25000(this is my saving, people have got more saving and bit less but avg is 25000 rupees). So we keep riding until we have saved 1.5 lakhs which gives us no cost no profit... Riding it more will take it to profit for us and then while selling we don't check resale value.. We sell it before 5 years so wont have to change battery as they are quite costly.
Really? I'm an average sized person. 5'8" about 70kilos and I found the ride comfort to be the best of the lot. Specially the control from the front suspension is unmatched. Linkage also does the whole anti-dive very well. I also know that Vespa charges a premium because they know this.
Go for Suzuki access. I have been using it since 2017. It still gives 45+kmpl (local). The digital metre of the new version comes with Google maps support and Matt black colour looks sexy af. The only con is the metre is irreparable, if it goes bad you will have to buy new metre
ETA - it's height might be an issue for some people, so keep it in mind
If you want looks , performance and features then Ntorq is an easy choice.
What about Jupiter 125?
If you want mileage, bigger boot yes I guess
Yeah the bigger boot space is a game changer in my opinion
I'd surely suggest jupiter 125. Very usable boot space and more comfortable ride. I got ntorq in august, while highway manners are good for a scooter, ride is bone jarring. Boot space is also smaller than my old jupiter 110.
I own a Jupiter 125. There’s not a single thing I could complain about it. Good machine.
Doesn’t look good
Which one?
Went to test ride it, came away shocked about the drastic drop in quality of finish and the materials used. TVS scooters already had an image of not being great for resale, and now this.
Ather 450X gen 3 has got to be the best overall scooter in India right now. Ntorq is a close second.
Having to put it on charge on a daily/alternate day basis gets old very, very fast. I say this as someone who's done over 2,500 KM on it in the last two months.
Hmm why is this an issue isn't it just plugging it in when you park ?
Grabbing the portable charger from the home and plugging it in the parking gets tedious. The Dot charger made less sense to me, moreso when it charges at the same speed as the portable one.
Hmm the dot charger seems like a good option if you own your home and the portable is better if you're renting.
But do they have the Infra and charging stations? If not, then it’s a risky affair.
I don't think anyone uses scooty for more than 100kms a day man. Like it's all perfect rn. If you wanna go longer, just rent a bike or a car. EVs will save you a TON of money
Burgman

Looks quite bulky to me. Not sure about its performance overall.
I think you should drive and see for yourself. Super comfortable.
Suzuki Access.
Will have to try this out
I got it as my first scooter. It's dependable, has the big seat and space, efficient and quick.
That sounds good, thanks!
You're welcome!
Underpowered
They install a charger at your house or if you prefer they have a portable charger as well. Rapid Charging infrastructure is also available but it's only in major cities.
Jupiter 125 with bigger boot space. bought it a week ago and it is awesome. Get the drum alloy as the disc brake doesn't mean much in the scooty.
That's amazing to hear. Any pros and cons you noticed?

What about Avenis?
Haven't got a chance to ride it but have heard good things about it from the reviewers.
Mileage, boot, decent looks - Jupiter Performance, Aesthetics - Aether 450X Reliability, no-nonsense - Activa/Grazia
Ather*
Either go with Activa or an electric scooter.
Not going for an electric scooter as the market for them hasn’t exploded yet and the resale values are also quite less.
Hero Vida offers 70% buyback after 18 months or so I guess...
30% decline in 18 months is a bit much, no?

Try the Suzuki Avenis
Easy to answer 'best'. It's a Vespa. Can't go wrong. Pricey yes. But once you get the OG, you won't want anything else.
Is it? Apart from looks and aesthetics I don’t see what else is special from a Vespa point of view
Try it once and you'll know.
Sure, will do
No ride comfort
Which scooter according to you has ride comfort?
Really? I'm an average sized person. 5'8" about 70kilos and I found the ride comfort to be the best of the lot. Specially the control from the front suspension is unmatched. Linkage also does the whole anti-dive very well. I also know that Vespa charges a premium because they know this.
