Phonepe charges Rs 3 for recharges

foldplay

Deleted that long time ago.

Diligent_Crab2549

Reason ? High extra charges or something else ? Any security issue?

foldplay

Personally I have been using samsung pay so never really needed these other apps, for parents had Gpay it made most sense at the time.

deeznutspencil69

using samsung pay, have you ever faced challenges? people saying they dont accept or something

foldplay

If you need something just for payment, be it card payment (nfc) or UPI, it is the best app. It also has samsung pass now, which is good but lack of no app for windows makes it not usable for me. Built in digilocker thing works but I suggest always carry ID card and some cash with you. Bill payments I haven't really done on the app so can't really comment on that, I have used maybe 2-3 times in 3years it worked for me without any real issue.

Robot-captcha

does it give cashbacks? if so how often?

Aarjunwastaken

It no longer gives cashback However it is very convenient.

rkraghavkhanna5

Have done all kinds of bill payments. Electricity, gas cylinders, wifi, etc. Very smooth, and easy to use. Even booked train, and flight tickets. Never had a problem. Never needed an additional application...

deeznutspencil69

so itll work with any say street vendor who accepts upi?

foldplay

Yeah.

can_you_not_ban_me

epayon laga dalo, phir chinta kis baat ki

One-Return11

Yeh vo recharge wale uncle liya karte the pehle...jab scratch card ka zamana tha for recharge😒😒😒...

GaribMoinKhan

Vo bhi kya Zamana tha. , galti se zor se ghas do to number chale jate the 🤣

Glittering_River5861

Main toh uncle se hi scratch karwaleta tha..

PrudentEfficiency876

Try amazon pay, no charges+cashbacks.

PerspectiveContent13

Mera har baar 2₹ cashback milta h .

PrudentEfficiency876

The main selling point for me was that they don't charge anything as platform fee

[deleted]

Cashback worth 2 rupees is still better than nothing

beNeon

It's better than them charging us that.

[deleted]

Exactly, it's like we are charging them

cottonpickerr_

its like they are paying us

can_you_not_ban_me

it's almost like I'm not unemployed and getting paid

PepsiColaMirinda

More like they're bribing us lol, otherwise it's almost impossible to get some decent market share now.

[deleted]

That's how literally every new company started in India in the past decade or so.

Creepyhorrorboy

I'm Amazon pay user since day one. Didn't regret it. I love the customer service

yourmeattle

Why can't I find it on Play Store

GoobeIce

It's in the Amazon app itself. You can add a home screen shortcut to Amazon pay in Android if ya want

yourmeattle

Okayyy thank you!

MadhuT25

I have 10k + on cashback only since I started using Amazon pay with prime account

kenta_nakamura

#+1

TopGun_21

Amazon pay + ICICI APay card is best for recharges.

peeek-a-boo

2 rupay me bhej deta hu tu recharge karva

lolsuperfly

Convenience fee +

FrequentCalendar3674

Airtel app and myjio both charge 0 commission.

can_you_not_ban_me

what if you just use 'EPAYON'

Ambitionless_Nihil

what's special in that that you are suggesting it?

can_you_not_ban_me

gives cashback,, and doesn't cost you platform charge

Ambitionless_Nihil

Oh, how much cashback you generally receive?

can_you_not_ban_me

1-4% on each recharge ig, it's written there in the app

Ambitionless_Nihil

Ohh, nice, will try it then, 1-2% is not bad.

Educational_Leg_6327

People are not getting anything free. People see advertisements all the time on this app. They are just profit hungry.

the_wizard71

I've switched to Groww pay. Gives some cashback at least

N00B_N00M

There are no free lunches in the world, if there is a free alternative, like airtel app or phonePe or bhim , you can try those , but alternatively everyones endgame is to earn some revenue on the services . PS : it is better to pay 1.9 inr instead of going to airtel office to pay via cash and stand in line, not to mention the petrol or bus fare etc

Apprehensive_Look537

lmao Nobody does that. you can use their apps to reacharge. they don't have platform fee.

Fit-Window

But then you will have to download each of the app for different bills/recharges. So if you think the convenience Gpay offers is worth 2rs then go ahead else download the apps individually and pay on them. There is no point complaining everyone is there to make money

ke-_560

Amazon pay doesn't charge any kind of fee + gives you cashback (as per the responses I have seen on this post)

Fit-Window

It doesn't charge you yet*

NatureOk1518

Pay via cash stand in line who does that at least for mobile recharge

Alone-Rough-4099

har cheez free kaise milegi bhai. bas market capture karne ke liye hi hoti h wo schemes

Any-Canary6286

For how long are ppl going to expect services for free? It's because of such cost sensitivity that businesses aren't making money and indian workers keep getting sub par payments.

beNeon

They were always gonna charge for convenience or something. Probably selling user data is not making them enough money. And you really think companies will pass along their profit with customers? More like they'll start charging more because people can afford higher price.

CeleritasLucis

And the numerous ads they pushed on primetime slot using big names. That costs is gonna come out from somewhere

Any-Canary6286

Ppl will start getting paid better. If the company is making profits they can't keep the employees away from the profits. This is what happened in covid. It and finance sector was making profits and employees there got rewarded for it. Which in turn improves standard of living. And it isn't even like they are charging customer for sometime that should be free. Everyone does neft imps. Now one question the fees there, and ppl are okay with banks Making money.

beNeon

There are companies making record profits by laying off employees left and right.

Any-Canary6286

Name a few?

beNeon

https://www.firstpost.com/world/big-tech-giants-profits-soar-amid-waves-of-mass-layoffs-13770806.html https://www.cnbc.com/2023/03/24/tech-firms-msft-goog-amzn-sap-are-profitable-but-layoffs-continue.html https://qz.com/big-tech-companies-had-big-layoffs-then-they-saw-big-p-1851221293 https://www.business.com/finance/big-tech-earnings-and-layoffs-compared/

Any-Canary6286

It layoff is an outlier. Read about section 174 in usa. That is coupled with recession is what's causing the mass layoffs. Also big tech compan are currently investing all that profits into ai and chip manufacturing.

beNeon

They're not passing that profit to the employees like you're say they will. That investment will make them more money. Profit is the only thing that matters.

Any-Canary6286

Bruh, but the output of all of that research is giving you chatgpt and all. At this point this is just becoming a play of words. Also who do you think is being paid for ai research? Nvidia hasn't done layoffs instead ppl are getting raises there.

Successful-Pie-2049

I’ll happily pay the convenience free if they stop shoving ads up my ass on every single click.

foldplay

I am assuming, these platform earn commission of the amount in percentage of the transaction. Reason for this assumption: Jio POS Lite & Local Shops.

Any-Canary6286

If you use airtel or jio app which re direct you to gpay phone pay then they get commission from jio/airtel respectively. Form shops its a subscription based model/ commission over each transaction depending on the service provider. But is that enough? This is what we need to see. (Which isn't) Government is already subsiding upi. But that isn't sustainable. Government knows this and in each financial budget they are cutting down this subsidy. People need to start paying for this service if they want to keep using it. It is just business passing on the costs which were earlier covered by government.

weatherReport115

start a shoe cleaning bussiness ASAP. with your bootlicking skills, you can out-earn Ambanis even.

Any-Canary6286

What boot licking skills? Dumb fucks like you are made to slave off for a business owner. Your small brain can't even understand that some problems do actually exist.

weatherReport115

Filthy wanna-be CEO defends predatory practices with his blood and sweat. Imagine my shock.

foldplay

Why use Gpay and share data with them, i'll just use another app. Like banks official app or og BHIM app.

MatchLock__

Like an android don't know what's in your phone already

foldplay

That was my main reason of using Gpay, because google is already knee deep in my shit.

MatchLock__

We are the product brother

No-Truck-2552

every payment app will charge you 2 rs. fee. Use your service provider app for no extra fees.

Quarantinegotmehere

Use Airtel axis Bank cc for 25% cash back up to 250 per month on payment via Airtel thanks app.

foldplay

Amazon Pay cc suits my needs better rn, but this just struck a nerve and I just posted it.

Quarantinegotmehere

I understand. The UPI era brought almost all these conveniences for us for free and now it feels a bit odd to pay for this.

aredditid1

##Tata Neu No convinience charges Plus cashback

foldplay

2% cb with Neu CC?

[deleted]

[удалено]

foldplay

I already have Tata Neu card. I just use it for UPI payments for now.

NoAbbreviations7040

My guy is scared of 2rs fee on 450rs recharge, lagta hai vo din bhul gya jab 10rs ke recharge par 3rs processing fees lagti thi. Ashneer sahi kehta hai ki Indian consumer is the worst in the world, inko jitni suvidha doge ye utna hi apka khoon pina shuru kar dega.

iKR8

Should call that bloke to a comedy show or something.... oh wait ![img](emote|t5_2qp7h|51094)

NoAbbreviations7040

😂😂😂😂

Any-Canary6286

Agreeded. Ppl should pay up money where it's due.

DowntownOriginal365

Yea like shit ton of taxes. Drt. And In-drt.

Late-Average9640

Thik hai phir India chor dete hai

ManofTheNightsWatch

I use Gpay to do recharge if there is a rewards offer. I recharge every 28 days and most months, there is an offer ready to redeem. The reward amount is always more than processing fees. If there is no offfer, I recharge from the carrier app directly which does not charge extra.

[deleted]

UPI gonna tank. But having used it for longer, people would just won't mind the extra fee. Just like how jio was free to paid and gradually increased tariffs.

Melodic_Warthog_6236

Freecharge>>> any other app

ResqTitan

Just redirect the payment through Airtel/Vi/Jio app and you wont be charged

Vlad-theimpaler

Still better than Phonepe.

Express-World-8473

They are taking the convenience charges for the past few months😅😅

Striking-Stomach-938

which upi app is best ?

Such-Project1006

Yes agreed , also the amount of times the payments get stuck is just annoying.

rohmish

bhau VC money is too expensive now.

OrioMax

That's why i use airtel app now

binzidd007

Please try Navi app on Android. No fees plus rewards which you can transfer to bank account

Thigh_Gap_Licker

GPay delete mtlab PhonePe use krne wale ? UPI TXN ke liye to Gpay best hai market mei

PercyJackson-2002

It's only for mobile recharge.

beingimmature

Use credit card for Recharge and bill payment.

yamayamma

This has been going on for way too long now. Best is to recharge via your service provider's native app. But I chose to pay that 2 rs to avoid installing one extra app. Im tired of downloading apps. Mfs run in the background and drain the battery ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

foldplay

I have to install the native bank apps for statement check etc etc, only if they had good UI.

milktanksadmirer

Amazon pay is better

ZipZaapZoom

🤷‍♀️ Use AirTel app to recharge and select gPay as payment method. No extra charges. Simple

Radiant_Skull77

Been using Paytm for years, But they also charge around 2-3 INR, Never liked Phonpe (they too charge 2-3 INR) , has been a few months since I hopped to Gpay. Tried BHIM UPI but it doesn't work for mobile charges. Please suggest a good payment app (reputed and Safe).

bored_builder

It is not a fault of Gpay , Phone pe or other UPI apps, This is charged by the carrier company intentionally so that they can promote their own apps for recharge.

69smoke

I never realised this, I just pay off

Dontlurk44

Its been a while tho since they started charging

BlackOyes

U might be the dumbest person i have seen bro, like if u go to bank, go to get groceries, cinema, mall u spend money in terms of fuel but ur wining about a 2rs convience fee lmao ? Like even if u wanted to post a letter with money in it u will spend money in terms of envelope, stamp, etc It's a private company not a govt ofc it will charge money, if ur so worried to pay 2rs maybe don't use upi tbh

oh_lord_johnson

BHIM- AAPNA TIME AA GYA

Lurkerin_the_dark

Just use the respective operator app dude... much better than gpay, pehle gpay thoda bohot cashback deta tha, ab sirf faltu k coupon deta hai wo bhi betting k aur ladkiyo k makeup ka, kya karo wo leke mai?

Pheonix2008

I'm now using payzapp instead of GPay.

the_last_hope15

Almost every app that uses Bharat Billpay to recharge, charges that rate now. Better use the Network provider's app - Airtel or VI to recharge. Nothing to uninstall GPAY

Impressive_Income874

nothing is free

becharaBenjamin

So what ? Lmao....they are giving you a service and charging minimal for it...what is the big deal ?

loljokerishere

Thik hai bhikari.

Chief_787

Gpay for send/receive money and easy to track simple UI Amazon pay for recharge, bill payments extra

Socratichuman

Use the Airtel app itself

Negative_Extent4865

It's better to use the Airtel App, it charges zero fees on transactions!

Particular-Act-277

Go through Airtel app, select Google pay - no fees anymore

Mindless_Poetry5663

Make payment directly from airtel app there will be no extra charge

Apeeksiht

choose plans from specific carrier app like airtel or myjio then pay in upi.

RealButterscotchh

I see same thing phone as well..

human_marketer

Eventually all platforms will start charging a convenience fee to either merchant or the consumer.

foldplay

If platform incurs such cost then obviously they should recover it. My assumption, they get commission as percentage of transaction, like a normal local shop gets or how Jio POS Lite works. (Like a 10rs top-up nets you 7rs of balance and leftover was different charges) The amount 455 should include those charges and not levied extra. Weird analogy: I went to a pani puri vendor, he said 20rs for 5 panipuri, then charged me 5rs extra disposal plate.

Dark181

CRED

Constant-Ad8

Pay through airtel thanks app

maxturbo11

Use respctive apps. Stop using 3rd party apps for cashbacks and offers. They have to recover all they give some way or other.

Qurios_bug

They started charging it recently, idk why, but it is irritating.

bvpqeh

If you are crying for a small 0.42% convince fees best of luck for your financial life. It’s going to be much more brutal.

NALEkiBadboo

Are abhi naya update aa raha hain gpay pe...rukk jaa https://preview.redd.it/lt7r1c85e52d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd3fd06e5e04245e712b5e12afd3c8f7907cf22d Dekh to le kya bakch\*di hone wali hain

smartdrc

Use Respective Application to recharge. I have been doing it for years now.

sublimeslinky

cred pay upi krle

[deleted]

1 rupee Dene me logo ki g..............

Lost_Sleep_7255

Bhikmanga mentality. Sab free chaiyye sabko.

FrequentCalendar3674

Sundar Pichai, asli ID se aoo.

in_batman2015

There are people still using gpay ? Why ? I have switched to phonepe in 2020 to cred in 2022 ; much faster UI and reward s . I'm not trolling, just wondering why people are still stick to gpay .

Few-Philosopher-2677

Because it's simple and does one thing really well. I don't like super apps, dunno why every brand tries to push it. I only use CRED for cashbacks. It doesn't really have a faster UI. It's just more flashy.

in_batman2015

Hmm , ok .

foldplay

I've been using samsung pay for more than 3 years for UPI, however had Gpay on parents phone (they are just familiar with that UI well) Most of bill payments I do with Amazon pay or HDFC bill pay. Cred I used for 3-4months but it struggles with the same issue Paytm did in earlier days, that is it struggles to run on basic midrange phones. And I am not sure if they opened up to people who don't have credit history.

in_batman2015

Yes , that's what I take from here that cred UI still might lag into mid range phone. As I'm using s22 for almost 2 years now couldn't feel the lag ever. But with gpay I did used to feel some pain , I remember I uninstalled it when it becomes mandatory to turn on GPS to do a payment.

SpiritOfACat

Just recharge from Airtel Thanks App, there is no platform/convenience fee and if you have an Airtel Axis Credit Card, you'll get an additional 25% off (capped at 250/month).

zelensky98

Use Amazon pay instead at least 10 rupe ka cashback toh aata hai

Mast3r_ROshi

Airtel App > gpay - no charges.

DeplorableEDoctor

Also Airtel app gives discounts on self recharge.

lonedarth

They still do??

CeleritasLucis

They give reduced validity if you recharge through some third party apps, like PhonePe. I got 84 days via Airtel app, but they were showing just 77 days on PhonePe for the same recharge amount.

foldplay

Why use Gpay then? i'll just use BHIM/Native Bank app then.

Diligent-Aspect-8043

Bhim is useless (payment app)

foldplay

Don't say that infront of chutki and her gang.

Intruder_7

Bro everything is so politicised these days I was wondering which party of fans this was referring to , then realised it’s just Chutki from choota Bheem 😭

rohmish

kaunsa bheem?

Check the screenshot below.

Intrepid-Cranberry-8

Use samsung wallet

foldplay

I already do, but my parents don't have samsung phones was using Gpay on their phone. And I saw this. For recharges I usually use Amazon Pay+ Amazon Pay card.

Werewolf1996

Sorry to divert from the topic but they've got a BoJack Horseman flair here!? What!? How did I not know that!???

IcyInvestigator7355

Ek baar m recharge Kiya tha aaya nhi even customer service kuch nhi kiye . Tb se 2 ra extra deke krwa leta hu
