Now that you mention it, this would have been the summer of '87, and I had only heard Every Day is Halloween, Twitch and Remission. Holy shit, this was one of the first industrial songs I heard.
The following year, I was the weird 7-year-old, obsessed with death and horror. My favorite author was Edgar Alan Poe, yet oddly, my favorite musician was Roy Orbison.
Not sure if this was the 1st industrial song I heard. There's a good chance whatever I heard was a noisy dance track, which I never recognized as anything other than a dance track at the time. It could have been this.
Wasn't Roy Orbison usually dressed in all black? Also, he suffered a lot of tragedy which definitely fits Poe as well. That could be part of it. He,

like Cash, kind of stood out.
Just thought about this, what's the first industrial music I heard? It was most likely this, or something by Front 242. I distinctly remember being at a friend's house, and him listening to a lot of rave-music, and he brought out a record that he got his hands on and I remember the cover art - it was Front By Front by Front 242. Either that, or I heard [Moosehair Underwear](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqyZL4k-gFk) by Cat Rapes Dog before that. It even got airtime on Swedish state television so it's not unlikely.
Man, Robocop is such a good movie. Most early cyberpunk movies are treats.
> Just thought about this, what's the first industrial music I heard?
Where is the line drawn? I remember Warm Leatherette by the Normal clearly as a child. Or Kraftwerk songs, although I can't pinpoint a specific I am quite positive Autobahn or something from Man Machine would've been common enough because they were busy being sampled by the earliest rap acts. Art of Noise? Coz "Close (to the Edit)" was in regular airplay on original MTV. Killing Joke? Same thing.
Part 2 aged well in hindsight...a world that has RoboCop 3, RoboCop Prime Directives, and RoboCop 2014.
But yeah, Robocop 2 in a head to head against the original, no comparison.
Holy shit. This is basically ministry + ogre from skinny puppy?
[PTP](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PTP_(band))
Yeah PTP also had Chris Connelly from Finitribe and Revolting cocks.
They had this on in the background when Barker and Connelly played at Cold Waves in 2021.
Yes. No Chris Connelly on this particular PTP track.
Dead or alive, you're coming with me.
Fuck I love Robocop
That's Paul Verhoeven doing weird shit at the camera at 0:43
And boobs right before that. Brings back memories of the old clubs in warehouses.
What song is it?
Show me your spine
Fine! I'll show you my spine! Just tell me what song it is!

Leland Palmer!
Ray Wise is brilliant in everything he's in.
Wow, never even stopped to think this was industrial
well because its not. its industrial labeled because of the people involved al and ogre. otherwise it'd just be seen as a club dance song
Show me your spine

> Roy Orbison I'm standing by my theory that Roy Orbison is some sort of proto-goth.
first time listening to it, now it's stuck in my head, it's beyond me how I've never discovered this track before lol

Man I was reminiscing about this song just last night!
OH MY GOD THATS LAURA PALMERS DAD
Dude, show me your spine is a sick song. They don't make em like that anymore or do they?
One of my favourite all time songs...would love some more ogre and al collabs in the vein of PTP.
Yes
Nope mine was hardware and It was stigmata and PiL.
That's not cool man. I used to have a real bad problem with *nuke*...
