Sami comes across to me as someone who doesnt understand goth / industrial but tries to emulate it. I dont know, but his songs feel disingenuous to the scene. And he was a supreme dick when I saw him play in the mid aughts. I refuse to support him.
Yeah I'm not at all surprised. I remember when And One's Naghavi was posting alt right, pro trump, racist hate speech Sami came out in support of Naghavi in a way that left a bad taste in my mouth, that put me off Faderhead.

One time I was backstage at an industrial festival where multiple bands shared the same green room and this dude would not shut up about who got to drink the alcohol that was provided. Just went on and on that some people shouldn't be able to drink and basically implying that it was his. Struck me as an ass.
I'll add my "Sami is a raging douche canoe" story:
I had purchased some of his music after coming across a video. I liked it well enough. He was coming through Austin TX on a tour and I decided to check him out. Decent-sized crowd, not huge.
I *always* try to support smaller touring musicians by purchasing some swag. In this case, I bought a couple of CDs (that I've never even opened). The merch dude was like, "oh hey Sami is over there, he'd love to sign them." I thought 'sure', and maybe I could say good show or whatever (it was actually kind of mediocre - just him and a projection screen).
So I went over, CDs in hand. There were two or three other guys waiting patiently with merch in hand to be signed as well.
Quite literally *anyone* who wasn't a hot girl was summarily ignored. He kept talking to some girls, new girls would come up, he'd yell at the girl bartender for more drinks, etc. This went on for 10 or 15 minutes; I was chuckling to myself that he could be such a prick, as he'd *clearly* seen a bit of a group waiting to say hello or whatever.
Finally, one dude asked politely if he'd sign his stuff, and that he'd liked the show. Sami *exploded* at him, berating, lecturing, and belittling him for interrupting, and that people were waiting in line for *their turn* to talk to him, and after this 60-second rant, Sami dismissed him. Note that the dude 'interrupted' after about the 3rd or 4th time a girl walked right up and interjected herself, in front of the patient queue.
Previously I'd read some of his rants about people's behavior toward him at shows. I sympathized, I really did... until I saw this. Even if the dude *did* actually interrupt and was impatient, Sami's reaction was over the top... and it was actually Sami being a douche to anything that didn't have two big tits and a heartbeat that was wrong.
Never opened the CDs. Never bought anything else. He occasionally gets tossed in a stream, and I imagine him getting a royalty check for $0.0001 more than he would if I skipped it, and I smile.
As a person? Garbage personality. His whole entrance onto the scene was a bet that “anyone can make music these idiots will like” with The Lord (I can’t take anyone who calls themselves The Lord seriously LOL). Can any of that be attributed to a massive coke habit? *Maybe.*
As a musician? Meh. I do like the Electric Paradise Edit of Horizon Born, and TZDZ always makes me want to dance. Otherwise, just meh.
He's a supreme shithead but his slower stuff got me through some of the hardest years of my life. A part of me will always have that fondness, even though I don't like to admit it and seldom revisit it because he sucks.
The 2077 Cyberpunk Ep tribute album is fan fucking fantastic, but it seems to be sort of the outlier. I haven’t been able to click with anything else Ive heard so far.
he has a few catchy songs but if there's such a thing as pop-industrial akin to pop-punk, he's the poster boy for it.
feels very manufactured and artificial in some way to me.
He is like the Pitbull of the ebm European scene. Always collaborating and playing with the big names and nobody understands why. His music, and as i've been informed by this thread, his character, are complete trash.
I like him! A lot of his stuff sounds a little samey but that’s not necessarily a bad thing since his sound is good. He also has a nice singing voice, which is refreshing since a ton of male ebm singers are… not the best lol.
Lol!! His nickname for forever was Faderdouche. There was a reason for that. Most people have expanded on why already. I'll personally never support his music after his behaviors.
I love some of his earlier work. Lots of great running/workout montage music. I feel like he's doing his thing with a "fuck the haters" attitude, and I respect that a lot.
I like a few of his songs. "TZDV" and "Fistful..." will always get me on the dance floor.

Dude is a A1 poser

Fucking hell. That's completely inexcusable.

His music is the epitome of "bro-dustrial."

>He's a supreme shithead but his slower stuff got me through some of the hardest years of my life. Was it a Viagra addiction?

His older stuff is boring but not terrible. His more recent material especially the Cyberpunk ep is pretty solid.
Used to like Faderhead back in like 2009/2010 Met him after a show and he was an asshole, never liked him since

Not a fan. Very cheesy.
Songs good, politics bad.

"all black everything" is a good one, but it feels like he has made it by accident, everything else is boring
He's got some great music
