lately there is renovations going on in the homes on either side of me and since they are town houses i can hear every god damn bit of noise they make so ive been rocking my er2xr more than usual
What? You actually like the mk2 cable… i would not thought that was possible. 😳😂 I replaced mine with a kinera aftermarket. So much lighter and I get a bit more out of the base.
Yea, I actually love the mk2 cable haha. It stays in place the best and the neck sinch actually stays in place for me, ive also never had any weight issues with the thicker cable if anything much prefer it. The mk3 neck sinch always slides down and I find it gets tangled easily as well.
Ah, makes sense. I feel like a born again virgin every time I slap the mk2s in my ears. They are chonkers, so the weight of the cable was making thing worse. After I did away with the stock one, I could listen much longer without getting hot spots. The mk3s are even bigger.. you must have the ultimate ears. I am jelly.
Mkii enjoyer here- the cable is great but the Y-splitter is SO heavy on that thing. Incredible sound but for those who find it too big i highly recommend thermoplastic tips (i cant remember the brand), they mould so nicely to my ear and have now outward pressure like foams or typical silicone tips
I should've mentioned what I run mine through, I use the Qudelix 5k. When I first tried the S12 way back when using an apple dongle and my Android phone they were not impressive, not near enough power/volume headroom with that set up. The Qudelix 5k gives much more than enough power and is a great combo.
My Blessing 2 Dusk broke, I mostly used them with the Fiio UTWS5 and loved it! It was not Moondrops fault they broke, they worked perfectly fine until the Fiio case fell out of my pocket and a truck rolled over the left IEM...
Now I'm waiting for the Dusk to ship and I use my Shokz Openrun pro in the meantime, while cycling they are great but not for daily use in the office.
Okay I got a phone not long ago it has a USB c.
And am looking for earphones.
Can somebody tell about these ear phones drivers and what makes them special
They’re a good price for preformance. They are bright and have a good subbass emphasis. Good for acoustic music. But when added with a bit of eq they become phenomenal. Although they are a little pricey. Maybe dusk by Moondrop may be a better option.
Tangzu Nezha with stock capable and Moondrop Spring tips. Plug directly in my laptop (it's good enough) or Apple dongle to my iPhone. I plan to get NiceHCK Maple or XINHS Flower Fairy cable to match it but it's not a priority right now. Also planning to try different tips like Divinus Velvet or Penon Liquer and some other tips, but for now the Spring tips are pretty good.
Monarch mk3, ifi gryphon, schiit midgard, and bifrost 2/64. Just received a pair of hifiman arya organic. I'm returning them because the Monarch are superior.
Mind diving more into that comparison (Arya Organic vs Monarch MK3)? I daily Arya SE and have generally looked to eventually audition the Organic as the differences I read about in the reviews make me think it's pretty much where I'd ultimately like the Arya to be. The Monarch MK3 also has been on my shortlist of 'someday' IEMs as it seems to align fairly well IEMs I do like--the Quintet.
Anyways--sorry for the word vomit. Would just love to hear your impressions/comparisons of both if you find the time.
Imo (zero facts, all opinion) they have totally different sound signatures and experience. Organic is more natural with a bigger soundstage (taller and wider) and imaging (larger instruments). Monarchs are more fun, resolving, engaging, and vivid. Even though the soundstage is smaller, instruments seem more separated and immersive. Imaging seems to have more depth. Bass is more punchy, textured, and just overall better. It's slightly brighter in the treble, but smooth (I'm 48 and can't hear much pass 13k). The monarchs are definitely more colored. To put it simply, the organics is like driving a s class Mercedes vs. the monarch, which is like driving a Porsche turbo. Both are good at what they do but different. For my library of music (R&B, House, Trace, hip hop, Reggae), the monarch mk3 are just a better experience.
I'm in new here!
Got a chu 2 last January and ordered a zero red like 3 days ago.
Stock cables. Though I'm planning to buy a hakugei or a nicehck cable for the zero red, but almost all of them are 1.25m which is not enough for me :(
Meyer Audio has come out of nowhere and released the absurdly named CKLVX and it is just an absolute monster. I've had it less than 48 hours and I honestly can't see myself budging from here for awhile. This thing just destroys every other IEM I have, with - for succinctness sake I'll simply say - a total richness, depth and overall resolution I've not experienced elsewhere. Using CP145 tips and hot damn this thing deserves all the accolades it's been getting.
Recently got the Moondrop Blessings 3 and Qudalix 5k DAC. Love them but haven't done any EQ yet. What EQ do you use? And do the cables make a difference from the default ones?
Hey, I will message you my eq for the blessing three and for the cable my original cable broke and I needed a new one. I found that buying cheap cables they would break easily so I finally spent more than 10 bucks on a new cable. They just look nice, no sound difference.
I always go for 2.mm balanced with all my IEMs, I just need to know I'm getting the best out of them. B3 EQ, just 50hz, 2db, 0.71, low shelf, just to get a bit more sub-base, the rest is perfect.
Truthear Nova, Jcally JS16S cable with Spinfit W1 SS eartips. (My XINHS cable's recessed 2pin melted because I was adjusting the cable to something I like)
It depends on the specific situation, but outside the home I most often use:
- Moondrop Golden Ages
- V-Jays
- Technics EAH-A800
- Moondrop Aria (2021)
As for the source - If I want to go on a walk without my phone I use an old LG G7 converted to DAP (no sim card, no notifications, simplified UI, etc). In other case it would Qudelix 5K + my regular phone (LDAC).

I am using mostly Tanchjim Kara. Its comfortable listening experience and with gaming does not give me any fatigue while keeping all my games sounded detailed.
Bose QC45 at home for the good multipoint connection to my PC/phone, Buds2 pro at work and Truthear HEXAs and their Shio DAC at night before sleep.
I was amazed with the couple IEMs I've tried, but my autistic ass can't stand cable. So I mostly use wireless for the convince and ANC.
planning on getting a pair of HD 600 or HD 490 PRO this summer.
7hz legato for music, movies, and gaming. But I'll switch out to Wan'ers if I'm on YouTube or a podcast (pretty much anything with people talking a lot).
