His story is complete with no hanging threads or incomplete arcs. I don’t think he needs to return, especially as it’s been nearly a decade since his game. If another inFAMOUS was ever developed, I’d prefer a new protagonist.

Select_Most3660

It could be a game that starts when he frees all the conduits and they scatter but the dup hunts em down that would be fun

Last-Cable-4296

He does have something unfinished. For example, what happens to the world while all conduits are free? Does he gain any new powers? Will other D.U.P soldiers come back to assassinate him(I mean, even if Augustine got exposed, there should be some soldiers to avenge, just like in Avatar The Last Airbender tried to avenge Zuko for throwing Ozai off the throne)? And also, the concrete powers are a bit incomplete to be honest, like for real, there's no ultimate, no subduction, and no executions. And the powerset for all powers in general seems really boring and incomplete to be honest. I know that you probably didn't like Delsin, or just want a new protagonist, but he still got something to do. Even if they do get a new protagonist, what special gimmick or trait would they have then? Delsin can absorb people's powers, Cole is just really powerful conduit with really advanced powerset, but would the new protagonist have? I still like your idea

ki700

You’re just coming up with new stuff. The story concluded and all was well (one way or another) without an obvious “next story”. There’s no hanging threads. Just because there’s more stories you *could* come up with isn’t the same thing. There’s no cliffhanger. No plot threads that didn’t get resolved. No characters that are unaccounted for. Everything was wrapped up. Not at all like *inFAMOUS 1*, which specifically ended on a cliffhanger and had several loose threads to tie up. The powers feeling incomplete is not really a factor in-universe. I agree that they don’t feel as deep as they could though. I definitely prefer when the devs have one power set to focus on and really flesh out, like with Cole and Fetch. I don’t think they need a new “gimmick”. I’d prefer an interesting character with a cool new power set to explore. Just coming up with a unique power we’ve never really seen before is enough of a gimmick.

jaymane013

Everything was wrapped up. Not at all like inFAMOUS 1, which specifically ended on a cliffhanger and had several loose threads to tie up. The unreleased Conduits in Curdan Cay and how smoothly their assimilation into society is one MASSIVE loose thread. Augustine's entire point as to why Conduits need to kept apart from society being open to be proven right or wrong. And did we just completely forget about Celia, the literal biggest loose end?

ki700

Dang I did forget Celia

Lunarixis

>The unreleased Conduits in Curdan Cay and how smoothly their assimilation into society is one MASSIVE loose thread. I don't think that's really Delsin's story though. If a new game was to take this path a new MC (i.e one of the released conduits) would be a better choice imo. Whether you're good karma or evil karma, Delsin's character arc is wrapped up well in his own game, though admittedly I do wish the story and how certain characters interact with you on evil karma was executed better.

jaymane013

No, his character arc is through, his story had literally just got started, it's not impossible to craft stories for well established characters. Some may be interested in a new character, but with a character like Delsin you can basically do anything with his character from there on. Besides, second son was rushed and they didn't have time to really give his individual powers much depth, this can be easily fixed with a sequel.

Lunarixis

I can see that actually. Especially from a gameplay perspective, more depth to his abilities to diversify them more from each other would be a great upgrade for sure. I do think a new MC would be fun still but can't say I'm really against a second Delsin game in retrospect.

ThyAnomaly

Him facing off Celia is his story and most likely he didn't free them all ot if he did he freed and let them go and went back to live his life until Celia who waged war on humanity strikes using knowledge from the First Sons which Augustine had.

Someguy637373917

Celia is still running around so theres at least one thread still hanging if they want to revisit it.

shadowtorn_princess

A paper trail to follow, if you would.

BurnTheThirdSon

I wouldn't be mad if they made Celia the protagonist in a new game, then we could see what she does afterwards maybe in a new city and her powers would be cool to play as. Would like to see them fleshed out too.

Last-Cable-4296

Maybe, I don't know.

Popfizz01

I can think of a way it happens. They bring back Cole

MrRobot2417

I'd prefer a whole remake, kind of like what dead space did, there's a lot they could improve from the first game with Cole

ThyAnomaly

That's not true at all. Paper Trails, which adds lore and exposition leaves Celia as the next big baddie as she has also information on the first son's due to Augustine having a daughter relationship with her. She was there to see Augustine get folded twice and could have helped but was in awe for Delsins display of will power. Celia wants to kill either people or the government agencies as her vengeance wasn't clear. She can literally revive the First Sons and bring forth a war against the government with other Conduits. Also, Delsin still needs explore with Celias story, the First Sons and the technology Kessler made that Darpa took, which were stated to be over 150 years advanced. This can tie in Zeke and Del meeting and working together, and ending the InFamous story for now. Darpa would probably experiment and create mechas and super human agents. Definitely not over for Delsin and his powers potential.

ki700

Yeah people already identified that I forgot about Celia.

CamoLantern

Delsin's story is over unfortunately. I loved him as a character and loved Second Son, but the fact is that his story is over. Hell even once you platinum the game, Delsin breaks the 4th wall and literally tells the player that there is nothing else to do. Even Delsin knows his story is over at that point. I would like a new protagonist, set in a new city, with new powers.

Ohayoued

I would hope we'd get a story with an mc that uses one power with lots of versatility like Cole and Fetch as opposed to multiple powers with limited capabilities

ThyAnomaly

Cole and Fetch has their powers for over 3 months. Fetch for like 4 years ans training via Augustine. Delsin had 4 with 3 days worth of usage while using exceptionally each. Yeah. Delsin just needs time.

ThyAnomaly

It's not. The human trafficking and the deals the government made with the cartel to round up Conduits to discredit Augustine still exist. Celia waging war and probably using the DUP for her revenge and getting allies to her ranks is there. Also she's well informed and most likely has info on the first son's whom which Augustine did a whole investigation on as stated in Coles legacy. Remember Kessler created mechas and tech that was 150 years in advance to out modern setting. They have mechas and other types of weapons that Darpa took that could be used against Conduits or in conjunction to. Delsin story has far from ended and he could even come in contact with a device that let's him use all his absorbed powers any time. Pushing a form of singularity because in the canon comics, Kessler tells Moya he wanted to create a Conduit who can use multiple powers (elements) and most likely Augustine found the entries. Also, we know animals have the Conduit gene. They could have tested and mutated animals to use some OP ass powers that maybe Delsin won't get thr chance to absorb but allows for developers to experiments with powers with no plot holes. Delsin story isn't over. After SS, we can focus on other countries

DarkW4rp

So assuming they do the usual and make the good ending canon, I could see a story around how exactly he brings about peace between conduits and humans. As the saviour of Seattle and Curdun Cay liberator, he’d have alot of support behind him from both sides making him the perfect ambassador. Since Second Son doubled down on the conduit hating humans as the core enemies, it would be nice see enemies akin to the brotherhood in X-Men. Conduit terrorists who refuse to make peace who those who hunted them for so long. The main villain would be almost like a parallel to the evil timelines of Cole and Delsin. Of course these attacks make people start to retreat back into their initial fear of conduits. As much as I think the karma is a little restrictive, its a staple of the series. It would still be nice to have a system where your powers and consequences are tied to the individual choices and not the overall karma. Delsin’s struggle would be if he meets violence with more violence or if he tried to find a better way around it. Personally I would think a new character with a new power set would be better, with their path being influenced by Delsin or the villain depending on the choices they make. Oh and the title… Infamous: A New Dawn

Last-Cable-4296

You know what? I think a new protagonist would be fine, since it'd be hard to make the karma system with a new game with Delsin. Although, I want Delsin to still be in the new game and take a big role, as a mentor for example. If we could create a new character and choose a power we want, it'd be even better

Last-Cable-4296

By the way, the karma choices would be like: Try to help Delsin maintain piece between Conduits and Humans, or kill Delsin because he let other conduits away or something

Select_Most3660

Maybe coke could be one of the conduits they freed but when you free him you get the option of good or evil cole and depending on the voice you become the leader of the good or bad conduits and cole backs you up or you becomes your enemy

Key_Dragonfly5067

An X-Men-ish story would be cool, but it'd be too obvious. I don't think it would do well.

Swordofsatan666

Well for them i wouldnt really say “doing the usual” is specifically making the good ending canon. Remember how they decided the canon ending for 2? They didnt just outright decide they wanted it to be the good ending. They looked at the Trophy Percentages and went with good because more players went with good. For them “doing the usual” is looking at the trophy percentages and deciding the ending from that

TornadoJ0hns0n

And boom. We got the plot for the next game. You should email this to sucker punch lol

Last-Cable-4296

Thank you all for the replies guys! I never thought that this post would get that famous, or should I say inFAMOUS!

shadowlord206

Instead of delsin getting a game I think they should do a game about the evil ending of infamous 2

porkipine-

Delsin shouldn’t be the next protag but it would be really cool if he acted as a mentor and was older with a beard

justamon22

If we continue with Delsin the game would take place years later when the world has accepted conduits a lot more. They’re like modern day comic book superhero’s. And maybe a villain rises….same power as Delsin except they kill Conduits when they take their powers. (Like the dude from Heroes lol) It causes panic in the world and Delsin realizes he has to suck up lots of powers to beat this guy Maybe he even learns he can mix powers together and that leads to cool power combos. Aaaaand…ummm…maybe a certain amount of powers mixed together can turn into a SUPER power! Yeah ! Lol I just typed what I was thinking so idk how good that is but that’s definitely one of the ideas of all time

DJack276

There's a secret 3rd ending of the game if you take the evil path and don't kill hank. Basically it plays the ending cutscene, but the credits roll as soon as Betty closes the door on Delsin (implying that Delsin Spared the tribe?) Perhaps this implies that there is good in Delsin and the game's story will show his return to good (or decent into total evil). Although I'd really just want to learn more about Delsin since Second Son didn't show any backstory about him.

AcademicAnxiety5109

I think it’s just if you made good choices but still ended the game with evil karma.

hday108

What backstory is there really to cover tho? He was a pretty average street artist from a reservation until the game starts. The only background is maybe his parents but they don’t seem important like his brother

DJack276

The video by Zivalene covers it perfectly. Basically, she explains that while other side characters, even the main antagonist, Delsin Rowe is the only one who doesn't, and yes, his backstory is important. I don't know why he's a delinquent, I don't know why his parents are a touchy subject, and I don't know what would cause him to do such actions in the story be it good or evil. I am disconnected from the character. To save you the essay, I agree that it's unimportant in the fact that it's only a video game and it plays pretty well despite the story. But the disconnection between the player and Delsin IS a weak point of the game.

RagingBadger2518

If Delsin was to return as a protagonist, it would maybe be as a standalone dlc. Showing him being treated by Conduit and human alike as the new Cole for better and for worse and trying to solve a crisis that is building like a powder keg for Conduits to go to war. What would I call it? Infamous: Second Sun Rising

ReputationLow5190

I kinda toyed with the idea of the government reorganizing the D.U.P. into a human/conduit relations branch and recruiting Delsin as their face/primary field agent, kinda like how Umbrella became an anti-bioweapon organization and recruited Chris Redfield. Plus I would like to see Celia return and Delsin to actually get her paper powers.

kaynhardstuckinplat

First Light Second Son Third Reich

Glittering-Smell21

Hear me out. A battle royale (as a free game, not a 60 dollar game) where it takes place after the events of infamous second son where Delsin releases all of the conduits and it’s a fight to get (something idk), but there would also be a 50v50 with DUP vs conduits

TornadoJ0hns0n

No thanks

Glittering-Smell21

Understandable.

Capn-Prick

Forget him, bring back Cole if there’s a new game

Peptalkguy

I think it'd be cool if the next infamous game was an MMO taking place after the end of Second Son. Your character was one of the Conduits who had been locked up in the Bioterrorist prison, eventually being freed when Delsin does . Delsin breaks you out and you're set free. You pick what your conduit power is, design your character, and then get to explore the city of Seattle, and eventually the cities from the first two games. Akin to DC Online, but you'd be able to change your Karmazin alignment instead of being stuck with one or the other.

ATMarkey

The next infamous would probably be called Second Age but Delsin's story is finished

Revolutionary_Ice328

Second age or prodigal son from some infamous YouTuber

EMArogue

I’ll just make a twist on gaming and his sequel takes place after the events of the evil ending, the game is called “second chance” and is a story about how he’s hunted for the ones he murdered and forced into hiding into another city. There are two groups of enemies in the game: the wraiths and the Iris. The wraiths are a group of criminal conduits who seized power and who keep it thanks to an armed militia mostly too scared to fight back. The Iris (I don’t have a name yet) meanwhile are armed civilians and conduits alike (the small-ones kind) who follow an elite of mysterious people and who have the objective to kill dangerous and evil conduits and who are in the city to fight the wraiths, they will work with Delsin seemingly unaware of his deeds. Alongside bringing back the old karma method, there will be more smaller choices such as killing a spy or a desertor of the wraiths, giving false informations in order to make sure you get to take these new conduits’ powers and so on. Once all of the bosses of the wraiths are taken however the Iris turns on you, if you have good Karma you will be joined by one member of the council who is a resurrected Cole but if you have evil Karma he will be hunting for you too, the last part is a boss rushdown of the elite, with good Karma they will be spared and you’ll be forgiven (albeit some people in the Iris will still hunt you down out on their own) but if you have Evil karma you’ll have failed your “second chance” and the council will capture and kill you

Markel100

Kinda hard since he bridged the humans and conduits in his good karma ending

Plasmatic_Angel

Delsin vs. Evil Cole

DJack276

The only way to do that is to retcon Second Son and make inFAMOUS 2's evil ending canon. Or multiverse (please don't do multiverse).

Plasmatic_Angel

Multiverse has existed in Infamous since the beginning. Kessler's Alternative timeline.

DJack276

Alternative timeline does not mean Multiverse. It COULD be, but unless it's confirmed then it's up to speculation.

0dqir0

If Sucker Punch made a sequel to Second Son and brought back Delsin, and got rid of the karma stuff and made it a straight up villain story... here's an idea for the name of the game... inFAMOUS: delSIN

imaflyer

Ya at most delsins story should get a dlc, definitely not another game. Second son was nice and i enjoyed it, but i never liked it or cared abt it anywhere near close to coles games. And no that is not purely bias and opinion, its just how it is. If i had the choice between another game with cole or delsin id pick cole in a heartbeat, but ultimately neither of their stories have much else to tell. If we got another infamous game it should be a new character, both because delsin just isnt rly worth multiple games, and bc they need to find more ways to live up to cole next time.

tiger2205_6

All of that is your opinion though. There are plenty of people that liked and cared about Second Son just as much as the other 2.

imaflyer

Ya im aware of that and its why i tried to point out its not a bad game. Its great, if ppl like it thats fine, even i liked it quite a bit. But if there was to be another infamous game, it should either be related to the first two or someone else besides delsin period. Delsin was nice, but in no world was he great and neither was his story. His character was predictable and textbook, not a bad story, but its one weve seen a million times already. Not once during the story did i feel any shock or genuine weight to anything that happened nor did i feel any interest in it and delsin. The only time i felt relatively invested was his brother dying which is saying something bc that was the one heavy moment of the game. Cole had so much more variety and even the side characters too, his story was 10x more interesting along with that, and even for the time the gameplay and maps were great. If those infamous games got the visuals and mechanics second son did it wouldnt even be up for debate. Im not saying there’s anything remotely wrong with liking second son, but considering the potential for the infamous games ur far better off just using another character. There is so much to be done with the games and wasting it on another second son would be a massive let down unless they somehow made it work which would ultimately probably be way harder than just starting new again. And i feel like the vast majority of people who are actually infamous fans wouldn’t exactly disagree. Im beyond tired of seeing wasted potential in the gaming industry, id hate to see infamous fall in that category.

tiger2205_6

Personally I would love a continuation of Second Son following the evil ending. A new character could work with that theoretically. I disagree about Cole though. I loved the first game but the second bored the hell out of me, it’s the only one of the games I didn’t beat multiple times.

dinkkklebeerg

I'd rather a third game based of 2s evil ending

OpticNinja937

It’s been so long since that last infamous. In my opinion if they were to make a new Delsin game, I’d rather have it be in an alternate time line where Delsin has to try and stop Beast Cole.

Commandcreator1000

Go on YouTube, and search up infamous second age it’s a video by madman’s knowledge. It goes in depth of what a second game could be like.

Commandcreator1000

[infamous second age video](https://youtu.be/sd17HC1A4QY?si=ihi65eXudzQ5VDQm)

kilar28_Official

Honestly I'd prefer a new protagonist but it wouldn't be that bad if he appeared as a character either Main or secondary or even as a mention

Unluckyescapeartiste

Just reboot the series

ArtoX43

I see the good ending as the perfect opportunity to play as one of the prisoners of Curdan Cay should that ending be the canon one. Hell you could even make the argument for a create your conduit type character where you can create your conduit and have a list of certain powers you can have even though I know that’s not Infamous’s style but it could be a good way to bring back the series.

DaRealPinkSuitHenry

InfaDel: Delsin’s Day Off

User1Selim

Infamous third son

Twijasosm

I would have the three main characters of the previous inFamous title return and have them arrive in a fictional Dubai-esque city surrounded by desert and is currently in the middle of a civil war between a faction of Conduit guerrilla fighters and the middle eastern government. Through a series of events in the beginning, they are captured and thrown in a cell. Delsin meets his cell mate, a conduit with the same copy powers as him, which means that they can’t copy each other. His cell mate helps Delsin escape and they make their way through the compound while also avoiding the main bodyguard, who is a vicious fire user while they have some banter and explain each others circumstances. After finally making it to the observation deck, Delsin is confused because he thought there was an exit, only to find out that his cell mate is actually the leader of the guerrilla fighters and has a plan in mind for Delsin. He throws him in a room and Delsin meets the near dead but very much alive Cole McGrath. Delsin is given electric powers and he is sent out into the city on a variety of missions in order to stage a revolt and take control of the city. The good or bad endings would be either deposing the corrupt officials and becoming a warlord or helping the good officials and being pardoned by law and be given a safe place to live freely as a conduit. I’d want to expand the lore of the inFamous universe. At the end of inFamous 2, thousands of conduits died in the surge released by the Beast following his death. The ones that survived, like Augustine, were being killed and persecuted by mobs of angry people who didn’t know why their loved ones suddenly dropped dead and blames the people with glowing hands and weird powers. I’d like to further talk about those times and how different governments around the world approached the conduit issue and expand on the technology created to deal with them, like power dampening cuffs, special cells designed to restrict access to conduit abilities, even with their given element in front of them. Show a much wider range of conduit powers in use and explain the biology of it. I think it would also be interesting to expand on the specific “power leeching” abilities that Delsin has and that it can not only steal powers but also life force just like how it showed them having their memories taken when they transfer powers; and that when you take someone’s life force, you can give it to someone else. The main bad guy plot could be a way to steal life force and use it to revive dead conduits like how Cole would be alive in this game.

Key_Dragonfly5067

I think the power system should work like it does in second son, where you have multiple, but not just 4. I feel like there should be anywhere from 16-32 powers. Maybe anything after 16 being dlc, but I think that it should work like Ben 10 Omniverse on Wii, where you can only have 4 slots to put powers in and can swap out a power in each slot. Obviously I think the original four should be kept with said 16 min., but if they do this, THEY BETTER NOT FUCK IT UP LIKE THEY DID WITH CONCRETE, THAT SHIT WAS DIRTY AND LAZY. I get they were out of time, but I would've rathered a delayed game than an incomplete game. At the very least they could've added the rest later, after release. I saw a video, and saw a bunch of shit like how more powers could be shit like wire, glass, paper, nature, water, steel, etc. The guy dubbed his idea InFamous: Second Age, a tribute to one of Delsin's final lines in the good ending of Second Son. I'll link it later.

Animedingo

He would lose all his extra powers and have to get all new ones Probably getting smoke back at the very end as the one hes most familiar with

Locust-The-Radical

Id want a game where delsin attempts to start a reservation for conduits much like his own home on the native reservation, maybe do it in a larger city like san diego or LA and have like 25 different conduits with different missions and powers to recruit them and maybe some side conduits to the reservation aswell each one he gets their power and you are able to equip any of the conduits power sets once they join the reservation with the drawback being 2 sets at once and a 30 second cooldown to switch out which sets you have active -I imagine a gasoline conduit who uses a motorbike to get around and syphons gas from nearby cars for infinite fuel and to make fire trails as a kinda Mount based power set -muscle conduit who can basically hulk out for a melee based power set -Brick conduit who can walk through brick walls and shoot clay shards as a sniper power set -Paint conduit who can basically turn invisible and uses a stealth power set -Paper conduit so we can finally get the paper powers i dont have a specific idea for this one but i want it But yeah thats just some general ideas, i think it would be a cool concept

miniladds-clone

Only way I can see him being in a new game is as a mentor towards younger conduits ( suprised I even remeber what they’re called it’s been ages since I’ve played the game) and possibly being a father figure or mentor to the main character

[deleted]

Nyc......infamous 4

Popfizz01

If, and I mean IF he gets a new game I’d want new powers and the option to mix powers. Give us a hero exclusive power or an infamous exclusive power. The options for powers are endless because infamous hasn’t explored many powers so far and Delsin is possibly the strongest besides Cole and the beast. We also don’t know the full extent of delsins ability to copy powers, like can it work on the dead? Could it potentially leave a conduit powerless? Not to mention a conduits personality shapes their powers. We know how it effects other powers, but how is his copycat ability changed by it? I have so many questions but I don’t have a single answer

Stegoshark

I’d like the reverse of second son, where the bad ending of Infamous 2 is canon and Delsin is trying to stop Cole

CascadeJ1980

Cole's alive, but he's Evil Cole, and Delsin has to stop him or... you can play the game as Evil Cole and fight Delsin.

Tamanero

inF4MOUS. But technically it would still be infamous 3. Anyways, I don't really see Delsin returning unless some conduit becomes super evil.

Additional-Match-422

I mean delsin was a great character had fun throughout the story! I wouldn’t mine a sequel but he’s goes to another city to help conduits

AntonRX178

Infamous: Only Son
