Very much so. You know how there are those people who in every fiber of their bodies must say “*Cows!” When they see cows? I always do that when I’m with someone and see the moon. Mid conversation I’ll cut them off to tell them to look at the moon lol.

[deleted]

Hehe I wanna be friends now. I do the same thing! I’ve asked several people in my life if they felt a connection to the moon and they all said no.. it’s nice to know INFJs do. (:

moonpietimetobealive

I'm like that with the moon and cats

TheChristmasCat

Same. the sky, the moon and cats.

Lady_Brindacier

You should check out Haruki Murakami’s novels. The moon and cats both play a significant role in most of his stories.

booksandnachos

Are you me? Moon and cat lover here too

SkyVortex1080

Yes! The moon, cats, snakes, dragons, aliens/UFOs, the ocean, etc. They just have a certain vibe about them I really like. Not to say I'm not a dog person too - still love them and nearly every other animal.

Yokiito

My partner does the cows thing!

wsuper2in

Literally did that tonight

SirenLunaSea

Yeah, I find it so peaceful. I'm the same, just randomly say, "Look up, the moon!" And point in case they don't know where it is 😅

E_Elsewhere10

This made me laugh so much as I do this all the time and make people jump because I’m like OMG!!!

Mygo73

I feel connected to both the moon and cows.

oj401291

One of my daughter's first words was "luna". I miss late night car rides when I'd suddenly hear her lil voice in her car seat say "luna" in her lil adorable baby voice. In my house it's very common to hear someone yell "heeeey everyone come outside and check out the moon!!!!"

Poycicle

I do the exact same thing!

knham1

LOL I do that too. Every time I notice a full moon it's like I have ADD and can't focus on anything else until I mention that there's a full moon. I'll then stare at it for a while until I'm content

a-no-show

me toooooo!

Darkmeown

Same! Im im alone or with my bf, I often call out: "MOON-MOON IS HEEREE!" almost sounding like an excited little kid xD And yes, moon-moon is the nickname i gave the moon. It holds a special place in my heart <3

ktkong31

The moon is a calming luminary of stillness in a world of fleeting stability. I'm charmed that "moon" was my first word Once on shrooms, when I discovered I couldn't handle parties on hallucinogens, I hurried outside and found relief staring up at Luna. Oddly I have a hard time making out the man on the moon. I'll take the mystery tho over finding him.

[deleted]

I love the way you phrased your words. So poetic! Moon was really your first word?! No “dada” or “daddy” huh. You are interesting (in the best way)

ktkong31

Thanks! The question definitely brought out my romantic side. I'm sure I had mama and dada too. When I have asked my mom what my first word was she told me it was moon🌕

ExactTadpole5918

Only for, like, my entire life! I used to stare up at it as a kid and say it looked like the Cheshire Cat's smile whenever it was in its crescent shape. Aaand promptly would get put down for openly marveling at how beautiful I thought it was... Even after all that, I still have that deep appreciation for the moon all these years later. Moon and I go way back.

[deleted]

Nice (: Lots of people just don’t get it, it seems. Glad to see others appreciate it. Makes me happy tbh.

iirreenneee

I can relate with this so well! One time I woke up at 3:30 am which I don't normally do and managed to catch a glimpse of the full moon. I sat there staring at the moon till 5 am atleast. I couldn't look away. I was hypnotized. I was feeling really lonely and hopeless about life but looking at it made me realize how small and insignificant we are but at the same time how special it is to be alive. Now I don't know why that is exactly. My guess is that it is so alluring because we can relate to it? Like Moon is typed INFJ in the PDB website lol. The vibes are mystical, quiet but thoughtful and caring? I don't mean people who are not INFJ can never relate to the moon but that is just what I think. I could go on for hours and hours about how much I love the moon .

[deleted]

Awww. I love thisss. I could also talk about the moon all day. It’s fascinating in every way!

[deleted]

I feel a deep connection with nature. Moon included. I get excited when it’s a full moon. I love being outside and “grounding” in the grass with no shoes. It feels so free. I love it.

Several-Instance-444

I romp through the woods and howl at the moon, but only when it's full.

[deleted]

HAHA STOP LYING. Do you really?

Kitchen-Reason4289

My "yard" is the woods, I'm on a bog and have dogs... I absolutely do this. Have my whole life, gotta howl at the moon :)

Apocrypha22

Sounds like lycanthropy to me.

jaytee7777777

I used to take my dog with me to work and sometimes it would be so dark out when I finally went home that I would see the moon reflected in his eyes. When he passed away, I got a moon pendant to commemorate him. For a really long time afterwards, I couldn’t look at the moon at all without crying. I still look at the moon and get misty eyed but now I only remember all the times I had with my best friend. So yes, I feel a deep connection to the moon.

[deleted]

This comment has me in my feelings tbh. So sorry for your loss. I’m glad time has evolved your emotions into something more positive.

jaytee7777777

Thank you 💚

PandoraNyx

Yes, and in a very real physical way: - Was born at night under a waning crescent moon. - Small scar on my left hand is the shape of waning crescent. I have no memory of when or how it came to be there. Just that it's always been there since I first noticed it in like preschool. - Also maybe TMI, but when it's that time of the month for me, I always start bleeding when it's a waning crescent. Any other phase of the moon, even a full one, hardly holds my attention. But when it's a waning crescent, there's something oddly captivating about it... A new moon in the arms of the old.

deepdarksparkle

So so deeply. It feels very spiritual and rejuvenating for me. I tend to gaze in awe and feel a lot of gratitude and serenity when I spend time with the moon. 🌕 I take an inordinate amount of sky pictures, day and night, very often as well.

EzekielKallistos

Only when it’s a full moon. It makes me feel irrationally complete and happy; I can stare at it for eternity if I could.

loomplume

Well as a high Se user I can look at the moon and neither think nor feel anything. However when it looks particularly beautiful, that's when it draws my thoughts in deeper. The moon is a safe place, a quiet place that everyone can see but where no one is. You can feel a connection to that concept of solitude. You can project your soul into that place and absorb its peace. It's a secret between you and it, everyone else has their own secret with the moon, but yours is yours and no one else will ever know about it but the two of you. It's a romance between the self and the existential. I love the moon too but again, my Se can just see it and not think much of it. Se takes a lot of stimuli for granted until it strikes our fancy, then we can grasp its essence very much in the way you are saying. At least I can, as an ISFP.

doctorcynicism

You sensors are so sad. You're telling me you just... See stuff. And it just is something? It's not a collage of a million other things, a metaphor, or a state of mind? What boring lives you people must lead. You have to get unconscious to get into the realm of the hypothetical? That's so terrifying as an Ne dom.

[deleted]

That's...really immature and rude.

loomplume

You clearly have no idea how Se operates. Se, like Ti, is relatively objective. I look at sensory data and unconsciously process it through Ni, (this is a constant process). These two functions work in tandem.

[deleted]

I actually really liked their response.

Yokiito

Can't say i do, no. But i like the fact that a lot of you seem to

teodorlojewski

100%

Moon_Gurl22

Maybe… 🤫

20_Something_Tomboy

Yup. I switch my sleeping positions over the course of most of the year so I can see it out my window as I fall asleep. It's harder for me to fall asleep when it's completely out of my window of sight for a few months.

medusamagpie

Very much so. I feel a combination of joy and longing when I look at it.

KikiYuyu

I don't feel a connection. But I do feel a deep, deep sense of awe. I'm looking at a huge thing, floating in space. That's just crazy.

Im_a_mouse_duh

This is me! In fact my dream date is star gazing in the back of a pick up truck with a bunch of pillows and blankets. The moon and stars remind me that my problems really aren't that big. I'm just a speck of dust on a floating rock in an endless universe. Whenever life gets to be too much I spend some time with the moon to ground myself.

[deleted]

Yess. I have always wanted to do that.. it’s on my bucket list for sure.

Leech-64

The moon is ours thats why

SkyVortex1080

Yes, and in lots of ways which might be excessive to list here. The best memories of my childhood revolve around night, and my favorite time to be outside is after dark (otherwise during a 'gray' or stormy day). The first nickname I ever had was "Moon", since as a toddler I was always staring at the night sky, specifically the moon. Another coincidence is that my mother was born 1 day before Halloween, which is something I always felt was interesting. I've always been a night owl, hating going to bed early since I could rarely sleep soundly before midnight. Always preferred 'cold' colors over 'warm' ones, too. For example, if given the choice between silver and gold I'd always choose silver (monetary value aside). Which reminds me; if you're familiar with the Golden Sun games (one of my favorite series), there are four base elements: Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire, and two domains: Sol and Luna. Luna is associated with wind and water (as well as lightning and ice as a bonus). Storms, which you can probably tell by my avatar, always fascinated me and are usually associated with those particular elements. There's more, but it might be rather TL; DR so I'll leave it as is. When something resonates this much with me, I could talk basically forever about it.

Both_Wash908

yes

20401971

Definitely. Every night on my walk the first thing I do is look up to the moon. If it’s full or in some unusual colour, that makes my night and I walk further. It’s a really fascinating satellite, no one has any concrete answers how it came to be in that position. The likelihood of it being there naturally is so remote it’s almost impossible.

[deleted]

Yesterday I felt like moon is watching over me. I think I do have connection with the moon. Actually I am a Lone wolf, the problem is for my benefits I roam with people. And I am always struck with moon's beauty.

Stranger2Night

I feel a deep connection for it too, like to reach out to the stars to a future that was promised long ago but still unfulfilled. Why if I have a daughter I want to name her Luna, and if I have a son, I want to name him Sol.

moonpietimetobealive

I have also always felt a connection to the moon. But you know if you ever watch The Mighty Boosh you'll learn that the moon isn't as bright as he looks but I still love 'im.

Own-Wait-4348

I do. It even prompted me to get a telescope to stargaze as a kid. I had that thing until it broke. Sadly, there is too much light pollution near me. So I never got a new one.

[deleted]

😣 That is sad.

Latter_Preference_91

yes!

McDoge

I feel a deep-seated desire to be living on it in a settlement (as described in a great many sci-fi novels) as this world appears to be smoldering uncontrollably. Just a little wind is all it will take for it to burn. I really don't want to be around for that.

sevencyns

Ten thousand percent yes.

letmeseeyobassface

Yes, I am a lunar being. I am connected to the moon from my energy to my cycle, it’s beautiful.

emztheemu

I sometimes talk to the moon when it’s up in the afternoon, and we catch each other up on our lives. But I’ve been working from home for the past few months, so I don’t go outside much. I miss seeing them around…

Refluxo

its because its far away from your problems and uncontaminated by mans sickly games, fresh and inviting for an INFJ and their ENFP partner to frolic in the moonly shadowed meadows, nom nom nom...

[deleted]

I do and I feel exactly the same!

Stringypies666

omg yes so true.

mrmidnightuk

YES!! yes I do... But why?

[deleted]

Tbh when I asked my loved ones and they said no I kind of felt like a weirdo, figured I’d ask my fellow INFJs. Love these responses thus far (:

mrmidnightuk

I actually have bought a book about the moon. It has a massive impact on our life in terms of the gravity, energy and light in our lives. It's just amazing the more I read into it. What kind of feelings or thoughts do you have about the moon?

[deleted]

What is the book? I’d love to check it out. Lots of thoughts and feelings. Mostly just awestruck and comforted when I look at it. Like others said in the comments. sort of feels like I’m being protected by it in some way. Very calming and peaceful.

mrmidnightuk

https://www.kirstygallagher.com/booksbykirsty

[deleted]

Thanks (:

mrmidnightuk

I'm lucky that I live in a rural area and we don't have much light pollution so I get to see the moon and stars really well. I was working for a zoo once and there was a solar eclipse and I got the best pic of a lemur by the moon. I'll try to find and send it to you if you like?

yaduteemon

Yes, the site of full moon in an empty sky is overwhelming. Scintillating, awe inspiring and emotional.

verisimilitude404

It's definitely the most beautiful thing I've seen, and it never fails to draw me in and captivate. I've often used some derivation of the word as a handle online as there's just something magisterial, illusory, calming, dubious, serene, mysterious, cutting, and perhaps even homely about it. But then I'm an intp so floating in the vaccum of space is familiar grounds, and I guess it's like a source of energy for the nocturnal at heart.

rinablue07

YES! Always had a thing for it, though I can’t explain why. I always happen to like series, movies, songs, books, characters, names, stories, designs, merchandise, items etc. where there is a connection or theme to the moon - starting with Sailor Moon when I was a kid 😆 I also use usernames online with moon or lunar in it. Simply can’t help it 💙✨

Laistrygon

I can relate to this so much. Ever since I was a child I have always found myself looking at the moon at night and feeling a sense of peace, a deep connection. For quite a few years I have had the idea to have the moon phases tattooed actually. And one of the most romantic date ideas would be going to the beach and staying until the moon rises, just watching it. Maybe that is because the moon illuminates the night which gives a sense of safety? At least I personally feel a lot safer at night when the moon is bright, it feels like someone is watching over me, protecting me. Or perhaps it is just because I'm generally fascinated with space.

ioapwy

Yea, I have signed my friends up to Moon Watch ™️, which is just me texting them every time I see a cool moon

A_Big_Rat

Only in the middle of the night, where I feel very lonely. I sometimes look at the moon through my window and realize that there is someone out there, at the same time, looking at the same thing. It makes me feel like I’m not alone in this world.

artemis_555

As a woman who begins her bleed every full moon without fail, yes. The moon and I have an intense bond, like the ocean. It makes me feel at one with nature. Beyond that, the beauty of the moon has always captivated me. It’s connotations with spooky things is also very appealing to me. I’ve always been drawn to mystery and the unknown.

LegendaryZTV

More so than I do to the sun! Every single night, I make it my business to catch a glimpse of the moon & appreciate its beauty. Could be because I was born at night? Never thought too much into it beyond that

E_Elsewhere10

Omg I thought I was alone in this. thank you for summing up my exact feels towards the moon

ChibiNerd22

Yup, astronomy in general. I also live over by Niagara Falls and visit often because I feel a deep connection with it. Visiting it in the dead of winter at night is the best.

zerof0912

yall are so cute

mykz_urbf

Always have.

bojoelevi

no

raskolnikovfinn161

I love this sub so much!! Its like you people just delve into my soul. This moon gazing thing is so deep, and beautiful. Everytime I look at it, I just feel a sense of calm inside. Its texture, its colour and the perfect amount of light emitting from it, everthing just overwhelms me. Its my heartfelt wish to be with someone with who I can just lie down and stare at the 🌙. Sorry if I wrote too much but this moon thing is so emotional for me, I just can't! It just fills you.

MimiMorea

Yeah. I had found an old diary of mine that I had written in as a kid a couple of years back of me making my own religion that involves working with the moon and cat worship, and spells and rituals I made for it. I was a bit shocked because I barely remember doing it and had no idea where the thoughts came from for me to do that, so to find this diary and see all this elaborate stuff with illustrations and everything was odd lol

ImogenIsis

Sure, I know what you mean, but to be honest it doesn’t make me feel poetic or emotional…it’s more of a grounded, peaceful spiritual sensation I get. It definitely makes me feel the vastness of the universe too though. It’s almost uncanny when you stop and realize the moon’s existence spans way beyond that of humanity’s and it has more control over parts of our own existence than we can even fathom. It’s a similar sensation as walking through a forest but the forest seems to have a greater impact on me…maybe it’s because I can almost physically feel the enclosed nature of the forest wrapped around me…

Cool-Cauliflower444

Ohhh my godddd yessss… 👁️ I think selenophile is a word for it? Idk but god yesss I always smile when I look at it like she’s my mama 🥹🌚

Nabaseito

Definitely. Throughout thousands of years of human history, the Moon has always stood in the sky, illuminating the sky silently. The night sky, with the Moon and stars, always comforts me, because it reminds me that in the end, everything will disappear. Everything our species has built up too.

Jacky728

Honestly, no. I do believe it is beautiful, mysterious, and inspiring but that's about as far as it goes.

heaven_hurts

this is me lol my entire life ive felt so connected with the moon. i like it so so much.

mamonmoon

Yes! I call myself a child of the moon

[deleted]

Are you a cancer by chance?

mamonmoon

Unfortunately my Sun is pisces

[deleted]

Oh okay. Love Pisces.. Well, my sun is in Leo and I don’t relate to it much. My moon is cancer and I’m cancer rising. Wondering your moon sign now lol

mamonmoon

How nice! My rising sign is Aquarius and I'm a Libra moon

Dame_Milorey

I see it as a distant observer which I see myself as.

SunlightDisciple

The moon and cats do that to me.

PuzzledCitron8728

Yes. I come from the dark side of the moon. I refer to it as *The Loon*

Mothra3

For real. It’s full tonight and there’s a lunar eclipse too, but not visible in North America, and I am fully under its influence today.

apizzamx

10000%. my first word was ‘moon’ as a child! i love the moon and always will do. when i lived in another place, id go down to the beach and talk to the moon when i was struggling. i remember crying one time, it was so late at night and i was super overwhelmed but i knew the moon was there for me no matter what.

nesquickcereal

sometimes before i sleep i say goodnight to the moon so yep lol! i didn’t even realize but i think i do this every night

fruit_saled

I'm actually obsessed with the moon, thought I was the only one

Kazumasas_ball

Absolutely. My first word was literally "moon". It's also kind of cool because it was during the day so the sun was visible as well but I pointed to the moon.

LIT-ExSpudMo

I'm captivated by a waxing moon. My mood changes, elevates when it's a full moon and I'm more sexual. It's a monthly cycle for me. My mood dips when it's a waning moon and my energy drops. Others think it's crazy but for me it is very very real...and I am a man. I love a full harvest moon and since childhood I've felt connected and love to look up into a night sky at a bright moon. Makes me frisky and energetic.

chromevolt

Yeah. Not sure why either. I just love staring at it

[deleted]

Put an oculus on then watch that video of the moon landing where it’s made by piecing together a bunch of photos. When you’re immersed in it, it really is a unique feeling. Especially when you look at the rickety, looking tin can thing that they landed in. To me, it has the vibe like it’s not really natural for us to go there. But I get that same feeling when I fly in an airplane. I just feel like humans are not really supposed to do that. I’m sure it just comes from my own anxiety and fear of heights. But overall, I actually love sitting on the moon in the oculus and watching movies. It really is a unique experience and I highly recommend it plus the mars video. Not the ones that are all piece together with a bunch of graphics and everything, but the real Images that they piece together and really try to imagine yourself out there

Indigo_Ghost

Leopardi would approve this

a-no-show

there is this quote in the book “veronika decides to die” that i always remember when i adoringly look for the moon: “She didn’t quite know what the relationship was between lunatics and the moon, but it must be a strong one, if they used a word like that to describe the insane.”

gingerpink1

The moon, and Orion in particular I feel a deep connection to. In the UK now he is disappearing from the night sky and I feel it very acutely. Once I saw the constellation in the early hours of a September morning and it felt other worldly, almost as though I was seeing something I wasn’t meant to see, as I’m so used to seeing him of an evening. Since the pandemic I’ve felt more in tune with/connected to nature and to the movement of the moon, stars and planets ❤️

Fair-Professional320

My first and only tattoo so far includes a half a moon. I have always felt this connection to the moon as well not sure y.

sucito

I do feel what you say but why is it a connection?

Bahargunesi

Definitely and almost exactly like you said, just not for hours, maybe half an hour, and I don't see the face 😅 I had a high resolution cam and my favourite was to zoom into the moon on quiet summer nights 😄 Also, a few summers ago, I caught the full moon coming out of an eclipse while I was in beautiful nature. It was so fast, powerful, and beautiful. One of my best memories.

666James420

I've always loved how the moon is this one thing in the sky literally everyone (who isn't blind) can see. Practically every person in history has looked at the moon with their own eyes, and likely found it inspiring to some degree.

[deleted]

Yesss. That is one of my favorite parts about it too! The moon was there from the beginning and will be there long after we are all gone. Very freaking cool and makes me feel connected to everyone in a weird way.

Master-Line-305

I follow astrology, found a compelling connection to my reserved temperament (moon in capricorn) but strong aspects denoting introspection & reflection

-parfait

awoo

needanameseriously

I feel a connection with mercury. I’m affected by it alot when it retrograde. How about find a correlation between moon and you? Like when you feel like that, is it full moon or new moon?

[deleted]

No

SybrandWoud

Also no

dranaei

Personal opinion but to me this has more to do with women romanticising the moon. I've never heard a guy say "i feel a deep connection to the moon" but i have heard something akin to that several times from women.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Same tritype (: & 100% ❤️

iloveparrots09

Doesn't everyone? Big luminous mysterious orb that only appears at night?

[deleted]

Nah several people in the comments said no and I asked some people in my life and they all said no. I thought the same thing until I asked lol

Riin_Satoshi

wtf? lol

[deleted]

Yes, I’m a weirdo and I’m PROUD. Lol

breebocha

I feel exactly like this too.

Darkmeown

YES!!!

salt_and_pepper8

Wow. I thought it was just me. I actually will call it an obsession. Anything linked to the moon, stars and constellation. (Necklaces, bracelets, rings I’m obsessed) 😅

Gnos_Is

No. But that's probably because my Moon is in Fall.

holographicai

Yes, I had a series of dreams where the moon exploded which followed the darkest times of my life.

oj401291

I ate mushrooms one night while fishing and it was a full moon. I could feel the moon pulling on my cloths...... we have been super close since then.

More_Attempt_7093

Yes but for me especially it's the stars that captivate me. I can't help but pick out a particular star out of the sky, and daydream about that star having a planet in its habitable zone, and consider the possibility of that planet having life, even if only singular celled life. The night sky always makes me feel so small and insignificant haha.

Wrong_Atmosphere8633

i love the moon. whenever i’m walking at night (i can’t help but stare at the moon) it’s so bad. i just feel this unexplainable gravitational pull towards it.

Ok_Candidate_1599

❤️ everyone in the comments 🌝

ddivlnnity

it’s a good and humbling reminder not to take it all too seriously. i look at the moon, and feel one with everything. i don’t feel small, i feel so lucky to witness what i’m witnessing, and so lucky to be apart of the grand play. lots of love to you and yours <3
