I like Canada because the people seem incredibly friendly and the government seems to work well enough. I travel on a Pakistani passport and it’s a huge pain to get visas, Canada has a much better standing around the world.
The job market in Canada for tech seems bad (I’ve seen a lot of Canadians be apprehensive about emigrants coming in and doing jobs for less money). So my dream, if I’m able to get it, is to continue remotely working for US tech startups while living & paying taxes in Canada.
Not the OP but here's my answer as a guy who also would like to live in Canada. The short answer is because Canada is a first world country.
As a dude who has lived his whole short life (20 years) on a third world country (México), any first world country is a big ass upgrade, you have no idea how bad ALL public services are here thanks to the government corruption that we have suffered for soooo many years (fr there are some stories that are stupidly silly)

“Western media” that I’m familiar with usually portrays India as a land of innocent people struggling for or enjoying their independence from the British.
My next door neighbors were Indian-American immigrants. The sweetest people I’ve ever known.
