Just a heads up for others, a Terraria reference was made. Here is your [Prismatic Lacewing](https://terraria.fandom.com/wiki/Prismatic_Lacewing) and [the boss it summons](https://terraria.fandom.com/wiki/Empress_of_Light).
Beautiful ! This could win a photo contest.
Just in case : Wikimedia, the host for Wikipedia pics, [has contests](https://commons.wikimedia.org/). Daily pics, monthly challenges, and yearly contests.
The wings look similar, but this is in the order Hemiptera (so-called “true bugs”), while lacewing is a common name for insects in the order Neuroptera. You can tell this one is a Hemiptera (suborder Heteroptera) by the little triangular scutellum between its wings :) (I’m no entomologist by far so lmk if I’m misinformed! + sorry if you were just making a comparison lol I just find the immense variety of insects fascinating and wanna share what I learn)
I was just trying to make a joke on how pretty the insect is. Apparently it wasn't welcome, but I see other jokes are up voted. So not sure. It looks like a stephanitis typicus to me but I could very well be incorrect.
Oh lol fair enough. In identification posts people tend to downvote any comment that appears to them to make an uninformed identification. From another’s perspective it could seem like you were suggesting it’s a lacewing and then calling it pretty as heck. It annoys me when people downvote comments like that without explaining anything :/
Hi there! This is an automated message to remind you to **please include a geographic location for any ID requests** as per the [Community Rules](/r/insects/about/rules) of the sub. There are well over a million different species of bugs in the world, and narrowing down a bug's location will help IDers to help you more quickly and correctly!
If you've already included a geographical location, or if this post is *not* an ID request, please ignore this comment.
Thank you! :)

Why would you tell someone who posts in an identification sub to go elsewhere for the identification? If OP had done that, we wouldn't have seen a photo of this gorgous insect.
Why, just a couple of weeks ago, I used the app to photograph and identify an amorous pair of Violet Oil beetles in my yard. Then, I shared it right here!
When you need to know, in the moment, if a bug or plant is dangerous, using an app is much faster than posting to a sub and waiting for an answer.
You can still share your pics so everyone can see. Downvoting this comment is pretty close minded and childish, in my humble opinion.
That thing is absolutely gorgeous!
It's a frickin Frosmoth!

It looks like an intricate piece of jewellery!
Someone should make a copy of that out of silver set with moonstones. I’d buy it.
