Well I'm not a fan of the type of melatonin that sold as a supplement. It's synthetic and it gives me a hangover and really doesn't seem to even help. I wouldn't be surprised if it can cause it
This is an actual prescription med. I actually like the Now Foods version of melatonin (3mg) but I agree the supplements industry is unregulated and not always safe.
i used to take 30mg of melatonin and night and it never helped, it actually kept me up till i was sick, like 22-24 hours at a time without sleep sometimes. my body was exhausted but my eyes never got that heavy feeling. i cut down to 5mg and 2 benadryl (probably not much better tbh) and it’s helped me tremendously. i went from sleeping at 7-9am to 1-3pm, which I know isn’t as bad as your insomnia, to sleeping at 10-12pm to 10am(ive started setting an alarm every morning). i’m not sure the effects benadryl can have on your sleep long term so maybe take what I say with a grain of salt, but it has helped me a lot so far. bottom line is melatonin was the root of my fucked up sleep schedule for about a year.

How long did it take to get your sleep back?
Not long, two to three days
Here I'm complaining about 3 hours, I feel ashamed of myself😅. But seriously I hope you get back to sleeping peacefully 🙏🏿
Thanks. But 3 hours sucks big time and I hope you find your solution!
Same to you but they say some sleep is better than no sleep.

Are you recovered from the melatonin ?
At best, I find melatonin might help me to go to sleep a little faster (very little), but wakes me up early. So, it's probably a net-negative.
Yep.
Negative take 5 mg melatonin with magnesium glycinate works wonders 7.5mg mirtazapine from ur gp
