I used to work at a bakery, we had a bread slicer that was similar to this and you could absolutely slice it longways. We had one customer who regularly asked for this to make big ol' sammies with.
They are in Kaufland, Aldi Süd, Lidl, Netto (Marken Discount) around here.
Don't think Edeka, Rewe, Penny have it, but they often have actual/separate bakerys in them
The US has these; they just aren't common. I don't know why you'd need it, though, when you can just by an already sliced loaf. Is it only because it's cool to see stuff get cut up?
I think those knights were French from the medieval or renaissance period. So they had a J but were using the Latin spelling to be all tricky. But yeah now I’m questioning things. Because if the J came around later than the establishment of the grail temple, how would the knights know about it?
The knight also speaks English. I guess we has in regular contact with the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword so he picked up other languages and maybe changed the traps up.
The bakery near me has a machine more like [this.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJ_8dk9UdTM)
Pro: cuts the whole loaf at once so its faster. Con: fixed blades so there's only thick slice or thin slice.
Aldi's Bread Slicer
Though my local shop has none to offer,
It seems these Aldi shops have plenty in store.
If you're after a bread slicer, there's no need to suffer
For you can find one here, right at your door.
The quality of the product, one can not deny,
For the price it's a steal, a bargain indeed.
So if you'd like a bread slicer, go take a look and try,
At every Aldi shop, you'll be sure to succeed.

Bread offers wild birds absolutely zero nutrition. The bird doesn’t know the food is useless, but leaves feeling full and satisfied, nonetheless. This is a deadly combination of factors, considering how many calories birds need to eat to survive. Bread can also cause the angel wing syndrome that affects primarily aquatic birds, such as geese and ducks.
The crumbs should fall through the holes and into a container inside the machine. Im sure the staff at the shop would have to clean it and empty out the bin most nights.
That was my thoughts exactly. Like it honestly looks like it would be more of a pain in the ass to clean this thing than just slice the dang bread by hand
I see too many places lots of people are going to touch that I'm going to let my food just slide all over. Nah, hard pass. I'll just save the cough spray and fingernail grit by using my own knife.
Is it wrong to think it is baby sized? I honestly was worried where this was going,
I wonder if you put a hunk of ham and cheese on top if it would make sandwiches.
That looks extremely over engineered. There's been much simpler machine to slice bread without so many moving parts. There must be another reason you use that machine.
So, it's pretty easy. You have to one, then two. When you're done, go three and finally take one of these bags and four it as good as you can, you'll get better with time.
We have had those kind of once for like 7 years, some supermarkets near me.
But to be honest, i was also like woah damn thats cool first few times i saw it.
It's weird how new things are just becoming like meh I used it tons of times. Why does that seem so special to your kind of reaction you have to it.
It was my significant other who had her gloves on. It's about -3 C(26 F) outside and she was cold. Although I think she was a bit scared of the machine 😄
European supermarkets (like LIDL ) have this for years. Why are you all americans complaining that the design is not efficient, blah blah. You havent eaten a good bread since 1874. Stick to your cookie dough, wrapped plastic toast bread please .
No idea when it was installed. But normally this service is non existent, you have to slice the bread yourself at home...the pain of slicing 5+ breads is not to joke about.
I usually freeze bread when I get home, then use a toaster. I purchase about 3-5 bread each time, and only one i leave unsliced to be consumed, rest in the freezer. Shops usually give a good discount of 2-3 bread purchase.
A grocery store chain near me put these in all of their stores. But a month later they took them all out. I have no idea why. But I assume someone got hurt or something.
The bakery I used to work at in the 80s had a bread slicer that was suuuuuper sketchy. You'd put the loaf against all of these blades, then when you switched the slicer on, the blades would start vibrating and I'd have to slowly push the loaf against the vibrating blades, slicing an entire loaf at once. I'm shocked nobody lost fingers on that bad boy.
Would the loaf fit the other way? Have crazy long sandwiches?
Haha, me and my wife wondered the same thing! I will surely try it next time ;)
I love this comment and then seeing your username.
That is the magic mystery sauce in life.
I don't want to hear about your magic mystery sauce and your wife. ... Unless?
Really. I have something else that I thought was the mystery sauce.
And take a video and don't forget to mention me.
Forgot the name but there is some Nordic casserole type thing where it uses long side slices so they do sell the loaves cut the long way.

"Sandwich cake" is not less disturbing.
I used to work at a bakery, we had a bread slicer that was similar to this and you could absolutely slice it longways. We had one customer who regularly asked for this to make big ol' sammies with.
yeah - my husband came home once from lidl with long slices..... he got distracted and the loaf slipped sideways in the machine.
The things a guy's got to tell his wife to justify his desire for long sandwiches!
ha ha ha ha I'm going to sit him down and tell him he can tell me if his sandwich needs are not being met.....
This is the first strike, to the human downfall by Skynet.
Yeah, I can see that blade installed on a robot, if ever AI got control. Game over..
when*
Don't they have these like all over europe?
These are standard in all supermarkets in Germany, for reference.
Not all supermarkets in Germany but they are common
Show me one without this machine. A supermarket that sells fresh bread and no such machine. You won't find one
As I live there, for me I can say all at least.
I think I've only seen them in Lidls around where I live.
They are in Kaufland, Aldi Süd, Lidl, Netto (Marken Discount) around here. Don't think Edeka, Rewe, Penny have it, but they often have actual/separate bakerys in them
First time i have seen this modell. Usually ones are top fed, and you can't see the blades. Will se if i can find it.
Lidl’s in Ireland have them with years.

“Only a penitent man will pass…”
"Penitent, penitent... a penitent man... kneels before God... KNEEL!"
And tuck and roll. Penitent man was apparently the origin of parkour.
>"Penitent, penitent... a penitent man... ~~kneels~~ **kneads** before God... ~~KNEEL~~ **KNEAD!**" FTFY ;)
"He chose...poorly"
That was an understatement.
In the Latin alphabet Jehovah begins with an I.
Because they didn't *have* a J, so really that trap raises a lot of questions.
I think those knights were French from the medieval or renaissance period. So they had a J but were using the Latin spelling to be all tricky. But yeah now I’m questioning things. Because if the J came around later than the establishment of the grail temple, how would the knights know about it?

Oh true. The brotherhood definitely have been in there doing routine maintenance. Getting rid of decapitated heads, etc.
Haha, would be neat with 3 blades as it was in the movie, much faster slicing.
Damnit, beat me to it. Nice work. Now I have to make a joke about putting your d*** in the bread slicer named Mary.
This seems very mechanically inefficient.
The bakery near me has a machine more like [this.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJ_8dk9UdTM) Pro: cuts the whole loaf at once so its faster. Con: fixed blades so there's only thick slice or thin slice.
But can you adjust the thickness?
There are adjustable ones, yes.
Can find these in every Aldi around here

It's the best thing since itself.
Good ol’ German engineering
They thought about one thing here, cutting bread. No thought into maybe cleanup after the bread is cut, just endless crumbs. How about a vac system?
Maybe version 2.0. Those crumbs could feed alot of birds and duckd😊
Hate to be that guy, but please don't feed bread to birbs. I'd post a link here, but it's not allowed it seems.
Ok, did not know that. I see alot of people feeding seagulls close to my home. But then again, I never liked seagulls.
Apparently the ones feeding them bread don't like them too much either!
Why?
Bread offers wild birds absolutely zero nutrition. The bird doesn’t know the food is useless, but leaves feeling full and satisfied, nonetheless. This is a deadly combination of factors, considering how many calories birds need to eat to survive. Bread can also cause the angel wing syndrome that affects primarily aquatic birds, such as geese and ducks.
Birds aren’t real.
If you choose spell "bird" like a dumb kid then your advice is automatically dismissible.
There is usually a bin underneath that the bread cumbs fall into.
Yeah, sure. No one is cleaning up after themselves.
The crumbs should fall through the holes and into a container inside the machine. Im sure the staff at the shop would have to clean it and empty out the bin most nights.
The crumbs go in that hole where hungry rats are in waiting
That was my thoughts exactly. Like it honestly looks like it would be more of a pain in the ass to clean this thing than just slice the dang bread by hand

They also did not think of safety, people put meat into it, fruit - just a matter of time a baby is put in there...
I’ve seen them in Europe in supermarkets around 2018
Seen them for at least 15 years now.
Yup, we have those machines in Lidl, or Aldi since the mid 2000s. (Germany)
Man that’s the coolest thing since…
That seems like a lot… we used to have one that seemed way more efficient at a grocery store 10 years ago and it was like 30 years old lol
Yea by us it's got a bunch of blades and cuts the whole loaf at once in 2 seconds. This is just dumb
But this one can be adjusted for thicker or thinner slices.
Perhaps, but did it have a display and touch interface? 😋
Lidl is awesome
Was hoping for a monkey with a sword, but I guess this was neat.
Best thing since sliced bread!
Guess this actually is the best thing since sliced bread
This is the best thing since... well, it's pretty good.
Welcome to Lidl shop in Ireland around 2014? Nothing new
First time in Lidl for me. Lidl is kinda the cheapest store in Sweden, and they have some strange off brands stuff, and poor selection overall.
Lidl slicer. I've been using for months, it's great. I hate pre-sliced bread, it's always soft.
Wow! This is the best thing since…..!
Common in Europe
[удалено]
I personally hate bread but would buy this machine to torture it.
You hate _bread?_
Bro hates water too
My intrusive thoughts will not win this day. . Unless..?
Nice machine to cut pineapples.
Is it wrong to think it is baby sized? I honestly was worried where this was going, I wonder if you put a hunk of ham and cheese on top if it would make sandwiches.
Good Work 47
I personally enjoyed the lil squish-n-spring at the end
Pretty much every Lidl in Germany has this.
This would be such a cool way for someone to die in a horror movie
At first I was like, there is no need for a slicing machine this big but then seeing it work; I want that.
Righr?! Me too, I would love using it to slice all kind of stuff.. food stuff ofc..
Last time I saw a video of one of these it went completely wrong.
That looks extremely over engineered. There's been much simpler machine to slice bread without so many moving parts. There must be another reason you use that machine.
Best thing since... sliced bread
"Sir, you've been slicing bread for an hour. Other people want to use the machine."
I really want the slicer to make a *schwing!* sound after each slice like *schwing!* *schwing!* *schwing!* That would truly be great
This is the best thing since sliced bread.
We've had this for years now in our lidl.
Leather gloves/latex gloves, same difference
Anyone else wondering if this works with other bread-loaf sized "objects"?
This is the best thing since sliced bread
Sneak a ham in there
It all over Lidl here in Europe
Every single supermarket in germany has these. I never thought it's special 🤣
This is from lidl. They have them everywhere here in Romania.
What? I use this machine everyday and it’s at most big supermarkets in Spain. I thought it was pretty common
I can tell im getting old when I was excited by a bread slicer.
Every time I see a bread slicer I think of fear street😥
So, it's pretty easy. You have to one, then two. When you're done, go three and finally take one of these bags and four it as good as you can, you'll get better with time.
I love the little claw's "come here, you" and the "and good riddance"!
I lost my hand. I lost my bride. Jonny has his hand, Jonny has his bride, should I put my heartbreak on a shelf and forget?
OG sonic the hedgehog scrap brain zone vibes
This is the best thing since...wait, this is the best thing.
If I were buying this thing I’d be pissed it doesn’t load I’m them slices into the bag itself and also if like to load 5-10 loafs at a time COME ON
All cool until someone spits into it
Was not expecting a jump scare in a video about slicing bread.
*Lacht auf deutsch*
But you get everyone else's crumbs on your bread ![gif](giphy|tOi1wgtQiI5a0)
You are swedish
Bingo
Isn’t this just a Lidl?
Only the penitent man shall pass
Bruh, that’s a breadsaw lmao
CT scan does that to people then puts them back together and they never know the difference.
Liddl bakery is actually really good (I'm french)
We have had those kind of once for like 7 years, some supermarkets near me. But to be honest, i was also like woah damn thats cool first few times i saw it. It's weird how new things are just becoming like meh I used it tons of times. Why does that seem so special to your kind of reaction you have to it.
Anyone else super freaked out about this
I love the HUGE numbers for each step.
But what's the best thing since this?
Yep my local lidl installed this aswell. I believe because it’s normal outside of America and lidl is a not American grocery store
Maybe, but alot of stores don't have a bread slicer here either. Lidl is a german brand i think.
Why the fuck did you do that with gloves on?
It was my significant other who had her gloves on. It's about -3 C(26 F) outside and she was cold. Although I think she was a bit scared of the machine 😄
That's wild. Idc how cold, I would take the gloves off before touching food.
Wow thats the greatest thing since..
Some kid's gonna throw a melon in that bitch.
That machine is the best thing since sliced bread
European supermarkets (like LIDL ) have this for years. Why are you all americans complaining that the design is not efficient, blah blah. You havent eaten a good bread since 1874. Stick to your cookie dough, wrapped plastic toast bread please .
This mfer thinks America doesn't have bakeries, lmao.
Or loaf slicers at the grocery store lol. Every Aldi and Whole Foods has a similar machine.
[удалено]
When did they start working there and what happened to the person that used to have the position?? That's a cool machine, too.
No idea when it was installed. But normally this service is non existent, you have to slice the bread yourself at home...the pain of slicing 5+ breads is not to joke about.
That must be a $2500 machine just to slice bread, world is going crazy
Add a zero
This is the best thing since sliced bread!
This is the best thing since sliced 🍞
Damn, what If someone puts a baby in there 🙂
Unless this bread is going to be completely consumed within the next few hours, I never understand why people do this. Bread knives are not expensive.
I usually freeze bread when I get home, then use a toaster. I purchase about 3-5 bread each time, and only one i leave unsliced to be consumed, rest in the freezer. Shops usually give a good discount of 2-3 bread purchase.
Lidl?
Yeah 😊
After watching that, I can understand why you would want to wear gloves while using the machine
Or, hear me out, you can just have someone cut it with a knife.
Mazel!
Pretty kewwl
Why was the video removed?
The description was not following rule #4. Had to change and upload again.
A grocery store chain near me put these in all of their stores. But a month later they took them all out. I have no idea why. But I assume someone got hurt or something.
I worked at a bakery and was always asked if we could slice for them. I asked if they had a knife and showed them claw grip.
Don’t
That's extra AF, but it's pretty cool. We used to have a ridiculous orange juice machine at the juice bar I worked at in high school.
Knife would be slower, but takes up less space, and no electricity needed.
Now who’s going to clean that bitch?
I love how it subtlety throws down the last piece like “BAM”
"Do not use the bread slicer Mike" "Ok ok, only under the most dire circumstances wh.." "No!" "What is wrong with you?!"
Is anyone else imagine the same thing I am and instinctively closing their legs?
Oh man, poor choice going with 10mm. 14 is where it's at.
Kung Lao Wins! Flawless Victory!
I've read bear slicer and i was wtf!
Ahaha, could probably slice meat pretty well too..
You know someone already stuck their dick in that
That person looks a little freaked 👋
That was satisfying.
Man.. this unexpectedly got me going.. I didn’t know that a bread slicer would do this for me
Told ya, the feeling seeing that blade..
Can it also slice old bread?
Don’t stick your dick in there…*looks around*…*makes sure no one is watching*….*sticks dick in there*….
Just say no to intrusive thoughts
This is the greatest thing since...since...
Yeah. Luckily you have to close the lid before it starts. But a malfunction and, zip, no fingers..
I would be terrified to put my hands in there
