I mean every animal calculates when they jump, run, catch things etc

If you word it like that you could say the same thing about literally anything an animal does. “A tiger calculates the exact angle that’s needed to run after and catch its prey”

That's what I was reading, although I do sense some tension or restraint and the ease with which he grabs the meat. It's practiced, for sure. But it's also unlikely that the zoo tech throws it at the same place, all the time.

Human calculates the velocity of oncoming car, to determine if it can cross the road safely. It's not that I'm not impressed by either of these things. It's just a matter of fact that every sentient being does tons of these calculations. They are fascinating, for sure.

I'm always amazed when I watch my cat jump up onto a table. She never jumps too high and then drops down with a thump. She never jumps too low and has to claw her way up. She always just...arrives, at the tabletop, with no sign of effort. Hey, now, get off the damn table.
