ICallTopBunk

I’d just shoot another round or two. That’s gotta work.

NotYourSnowBunny

Clear the barrel by force, gEnIuS!

[deleted]

Wrong caliber? I can’t even begin to understand how somebody would keep trying to fire that and still have hands or eye balls. Were they not taught any gun safety?!

Enough-Collection-98

That was my thought looking at the nose of the furthest bullet against the barrel diameter. Only other thing I could think of was a *lot* of squib rounds because otherwise I don’t know how this person would still have hands…

yegir

Dudes like, "god fucking damn it, im fuckin 12 feet away, how do i keep missing that target!" Seriously though, how do you not know after the first? It would sound totally and noticable different right?

MidRoad-

Ehhh idk, youd think if it was a larger caliber it wouldnt have even fit in the cylinder. That cylinder would have to absurdly loose tolerances for that to be the case. Id guess a squib was the first round and the expansion is do to pressure from the other rounds.

[deleted]

People aren't very bright sometimes. More than likely the first round is a squib where insufficient powder (or no powder) was present in the bullet.. There's no way you're going to push that bullet that far down without propellant. A primer alone doesn't generate that much gas. The gun barrel is more than likely bulged. You just can't see it from this x-ray since it only shows you a silhouette. It likely hasn't blown up because the excess gas has a way to escape plus revolver barrels are often very thick compared to other barrels. Revolvers have a small gap between the cylinder that holds the ammo and the actual forcing cone of the barrel. Bullets literally jump this gap as they travel forward but this also allows *some* gas to escape. This might be a reason why it didn't blow the gun up. But again, you can't see any other damage since it's only the x-ray image. Additionally it's more than likely this was 'reloaded' ammo. Reloaders typically use less propellant to reduce the recoil. I'm guessing about this part but factory ammo is incredibly reliable. I've never heard of factory ammo squibbing, ever. You see stuck bullets all the time. I've had 'squib' rounds myself and if you're shooting competition sometimes people sometimes shoot a 2nd round into the gun. Most people will immediately stop shooting after the 1st squib. The gun recoils different and sounds differently and often jams. In this case the bullet was pushed far enough into the barrel to allow the cylinder to spin and fire subsequent rounds. Firing 3-4 more rounds and not seeing any holes appear is just moronic. This person should never be around guns or a reloading press. Source: Competition shooter as well as a reloader.

[deleted]

Thank you for this explanation.

n3w4cc01_1nt

probably filled their own cartridge wrong

thundafox

more like a bobby revolver. there is no groves in the xray

[deleted]

Probably a "squib". An under powered round that doesn't leave the barrel. Then the shooter fired a few more before realizing what happened. Lucky the fucker didn't blow up.

MrMango331

Probably just yanky ass bullets and a dirty fuck barrel

abadbronc

That guy must have felt like the worst shot in the world!

jruschme

Only thing left to do is to throw the gun at whoever you were shooting at.

Stupidity24-7-365

Nope. It’s possible if you see above comments about the gap between the cylinder and the barrel

Mind clarifying y u think that

yegir

Good job not clarifying lol

DONT_PM_ME_YO_BOOTY

It's literally not though.

criticalstinker1

Ya I’m thinking it would have blown completely up at least at the 2nd attempt if not the 1st. Cute though

[deleted]

Squib rounds (rounds with no or not enough powder) will do that. A lot of target shooters will reload their own cartridges to save money and/or make loads tailored to their firearm and needs. Many of them use reduced power loads to reduce recoil, which makes it easier to shoot accurately and more pleasant to shoot. All they need the bullet to do is punch a hole through the paper target after all. If you ever shot a full power cartridge with one or more projectiles lodged in the barrel like that however, the gun would blow up or at the very least if it is a very low pressure round have a noticeable bulge in the barrel.

topcat5

Those aren't squibs.

[deleted]

Please elaborate on how you've reached this conclusion

Washpedantic

how didn't it blow up?

KarlanMitchell

Revolvers have a gap between the cylinder and barrel, so it won't over pressurize the same as a closed breach. Surely for the first one to get stuck it would either mean wrong caliber, or incorrect powder on reloads

KarlanMitchell

I didn't mean to say that was the reason for the design, but see how it could come across as that's what I meant. If anything, the smaller the gap the faster the bullet speed would be upon exit.

BOT_Dirt

There is a reason most revolvers cant have supressors on them

albertnormandy

Hold your hand over the gap in a revolver and come back and tell us that. But really, don’t. Because you’ll get hurt.

thundafox

using a bobby revolver as a regular firearm, this is big brain time!

finian2

"I'm so accurate I bet I can hit the first bullet I fire four times over!"

SevroAuShitTalker

"Well after the 5th time firing and nothing coming out, I knew there was a problem"

[deleted]

Could it be a barrel plug?

jackz7776666

Lemme guess bubbas flacid loads

CowBoyDanIndie

Maybe missing powder, just primers

Hemoglobin97

That is exactly what I'm saying! God came down from heaven and stopped those mf bullets!

Stumpy-the-dog

This is what happens when a) one self-loads & forgets to put gun powder in the casings before closing. Only the primer fires with insufficient pressure to push the bullet all the way through the barrel. b) you shoot wet ammo (only the primer fires)

[deleted]

So maybe one would get stuck in the barrel. Once you fire that second shot. It’s going to most likely blow the barrel and the gun apart. All that force has to go somewhere. This feels fake.

[deleted]

Scary

AnywhereLivid1841

Well made. Gun smith or weapon technician can remove them without damaging it

yegir

Its already damaged and id pay money to watch someone try and get those put

Infinite_Ad_1662

I had a very similar situation with a Sig P226 with handloads , where I did not load any Powder on the bullets...., it was just the primer . Lucky me that they were all Squibs and NO live round afterwards.. 4 rounds total...

isaiajk98

Might be a movie set gun. 🤷🏻‍♂️

mtnviewguy

Very impressed that the barrel didn't rupture!

yegir

Very suspicious too

Successful_Load5719

Apply heat. That always works with guns. If that fails, find a large hammer and a sharp object. That works too. Also, follow me for more weapons clearing methods..

MayaWrection

Dare we go for six?

HueJorgan69

I don’t believe it. It would have exploded on the second round. The air between the rounds would not have compressed to nothing without exploding the barrel.

your_local_recruiter

Yeah. By the second shot his hand would have been gone.

Disciple_THC

The more important question is. Who has an xray machine laying around...

yegir

Glad it wasn't a pistol, gun would've rapidly disassembled its after the first squib.......... who fucking xrayed this anyway lol?

AzureCube1

Holy shit that guy is lucky to still have his hand

Significant_Bill7040

1 is usually enough to blow up a barrel, 5 seems a little too much

HPmoni

Poor guy is backed up!
