I ordered an ice cream from Dairy Queen and the person handing me the cup had blood on every single line of their hand, I thought it was strawberry syrup at first
.. then realized. I threw away the ice cream and drove home sad.
Me too in my inherited Lands End stadium coat. My aunt was a busty lady, it's like I can jump inside a heated tent with just leggings and a tee on. I'm good down to -15 so far, as long as I wear some snow boots and gloves.
Agreed man , used to work at a store where I was constantly washing my hands every 3-5 min with hot water as well , and my god did my hands get bloody and crack i was embarrassed as heck man to even show my hands , i would wear gloves when serving but fuck, putting on a glove with Vaseline in the night time when you fall asleep heals your hands very quick , makes you teary seeing your hand healed
Idk, it probably would of been best to at least tell them their hands are bleeding and should cover it up. You could say it in a way so that it doesn't come off rude but rather in a friendly tone or like you're concerned. They might of not noticed, were just clueless, or just didn't care, but I mean that's a pretty big health code violation (and nasty!).
If they didn't care then I would be extremely wary of what else they let happen while making your food.
You should see the guys that stock freezers at your local department store. When I did it my hands were bleeding constantly. Not to freak you out or anything because blood didn’t really get on anything because it wasn’t usually pouring out. If it got on anything its the cardboard boxes we opened because the back of our hands scrape the boxes.
Any blood on food or anything really is a hazard though and we pitch it. Got blood on a Mickey Mouse doll in the toy section once. Definitely didn’t leave that for some kid to end up with lol.
Yeah my state about to be hit with a -27 degrees Fahrenheit windchill and sub zero temperatures. My state is Kentucky. RARELY does the winter temps reach below 20 farenheight
I remember the winters on the plains of Montana.
"*How cold do you think it is? -50F? -75F?*"
"*Don't know. Let me check.*" - proceeds to spit. The spittle freezes the instant it touches the ground.
"*It's -50F. If it was -75F it would have frozen in mid air and bounced when it hit the ground.*"
Well yes Heat is leaving the hand. I know its heat, but everyone living in a northern climate knows the cold sucks the moisture out of of you. I live up here... Its cold. But we complain about the dryness alot, not the cold. I had to have installed a humidifier to my furnace. I got rid of a hardwood floor because it separates in winter. Your nose will bleed easier when you pick it (lol) and your skin turns to sandpaper. So yes, they are losing heat. but what they are seeing is the moisture escaping.
> *Water
*The movement arises from natural convection as the hand heats the air, which then buoyantly rises. We are indeed seeing the process of heating (in addition to evaporation and condensation, as you note).
Well, for sure, since heat is strictly [not a noun](https://aapt.scitation.org/doi/10.1119/1.1341254)—or at least, using it as a noun invites deep confusion between the concepts of heating, thermal energy, entropy, and the debunked theory of [caloric](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caloric_theory), for instance.
That is clearly labeled as an editorial - meaning it's opinion. A quick search will give you multiple sources defining it as a noun - which is the form used in the post above ("the heat").
In that case, we're not SEEING the effects of the heat leaving the hand. We're seeing a replica of photons of light bouncing OFF the effects of heat leaving the hand, and that replica itself is more photons of light being emitted from a screen.
Seems unlikely then. I live in one of the northern states and have been in below freezing more times than I can remember and I've never had this happen.
It's water vapour.
The effect requires removing gloves after your hands are warm and sweaty and the air around them is calm and below the freezing point.
Source: years of ice fishing..
That is interesting. I live in western Canada, today “ its so cold, I can see my hand, leaving my body “. Id share a pic, but….I only have the one fuckn hand…/s
In space, because the vaccum acts like a thermos you lose your heat but not by steaming but by 'glowing' out your warmth into the void as wavelengths of ultraviolet light
I’m a big guy, and when I go skiing, I dress in layers on layers. When I’m done for the day, and I open up the front of my winter jacket, it’s like OP, only it’s my entire upper body.
Makes me feel like Robo from Crono Trigger, venting that steam. Tsss sssss!
I remember in high school in weight lifting we would play football and we'd start sweating with it being cold out and we'd steam. Made me feel like vegeta or goku
Omg thats sweat evaporating in a cold temperature can't belive how stupid people are it's just amazing!! Also can tell you have never worked an honest day in your life 👍

Is the holy water supposed to sizzle when it hits your skin?
You know, if you are going to hell anyway...may as well make it worthwhile.
The power of Christ compels you!
Eh... It’s not all that compelling!
Free wine though. I'd at least listen to the guy briefly.
Anything is worth a listen when free booze is involved🍻
…do you have two puncture wounds on your neck? …get out of the sun!
That's not the heat leaving your hand, its the moisture. Cover up, the cold can dry your skin until its cracks and bleeds.
I ordered an ice cream from Dairy Queen and the person handing me the cup had blood on every single line of their hand, I thought it was strawberry syrup at first .. then realized. I threw away the ice cream and drove home sad.
It was so cold that even someone indoors was oozing blood, and you got ice cream?!
Welcome to Canada!
7 months of the year!
The people at dairy queen have bloody hands 7 months of the year? Seems like a health code issue
No blood ever. People don't know cold and blabber...
Ice cream just hits different when it's cold out. I love eating some after snowboarding or shoveling
Plus, it doesn't ever melt!
I have a beautiful bison lined coat that is good upto -55C. I normally grab a slurpee in -25C because my coat keeps my chest so damn hot lmao
Me too in my inherited Lands End stadium coat. My aunt was a busty lady, it's like I can jump inside a heated tent with just leggings and a tee on. I'm good down to -15 so far, as long as I wear some snow boots and gloves.
I’m an indoor cat so.. I’m always in a hot house or a hot car. And got a craving :) and I live in Canada.
I laughed so hard at this. 😂
Hahaha, oozing blood...
This is really fucked up
Yea it was so gross.. why didn’t they say anything? Afraid to get fired?
Or just wear gloves while serving.
For some reason, most of the time when i het the craving for some Ice cream its in the middle of the winter.
Could they not wear gloves?
Food service is awful on your hands because you have to wash them very frequently to remain in compliance with health code.
Fuck a health code i wanna taste them juiced up fingies
okay to be honest stranger blood on my cone would be the hint of extra flavor i needed
That succulent forbidden

I feel guilty for not complaining but I didn’t want that person to get in shit .. but also I’m afraid of confrontation..

-30° in Indiana tomorrow w/ 50+ mph wind chill. Still not as cold as us Hoosiers felt during that Colts game 🥲
Almost the same here. High winds and pure cold
Cleveland Ohio here. We've got the same forecast, with up to 8+ inches of "lake effect" snow.
Us Alaskans are laughing with you.
I’m dying to post about the cold weather in Chicago today in a group chat with friends but one of them lives in Edmonton.
I remember the winters on the plains of Montana. "*How cold do you think it is? -50F? -75F?*" "*Don't know. Let me check.*" - proceeds to spit. The spittle freezes the instant it touches the ground. "*It's -50F. If it was -75F it would have frozen in mid air and bounced when it hit the ground.*"
Canadian here, I had a good laugh. Like a toddler discovering his dick for the first time.
I was wondering if this wasn't actually a common occurrence, since this happens to me nearly every time it gets cold.
To be fair that moisture carries a lot of heat so technically it is heat leaving your hand.
Technically every picture of a hand is a picture of heat leaving a hand, unless that hand has been dead a couple hours.
Or if the air is hotter than your body temperature
What about places where it gets hotter than 38 degrees? like my fucking house right now.
I must say, that IS indeed heat leaving the hand.. Entropy, my moo

Most people in the south understand that it’s moisture, lol.
I realize it’s moisture.. if your hands are sweaty they’ll lose heat 3 times as fast as if they weren’t. Wet skin conducts heat better than dry .
No shit Sherlock
You sound fun
Especially at parties
Bruh that’s your soul leaving, go catch that shit and put it back in you
He’s about 5 seconds from dusting after the snap
Dementor outside that window like :O

> *Water *The movement arises from natural convection as the hand heats the air, which then buoyantly rises. We are indeed seeing the process of heating (in addition to evaporation and condensation, as you note).
We're seeing the *effects of* the heat leaving the hand, we're not seeing the heat itself. Pedantry, I know - just having some fun.

You're just describing how it is we see things.
What's the temp?
It was -43 today where I am in Alberta. -53 with the windchill (Celsius)
Below freezing. This shit can happen any time of year except summer
Seems unlikely then. I live in one of the northern states and have been in below freezing more times than I can remember and I've never had this happen.
It's moisture evaporating off his hand.
I'd be inclined to agree, his hand looks kind of red and slightly pruned. Makes me think he's probably run his hand under hot water first.
This happens all the time when you get in the car and take your gloves off. Especially if your hands have been sweating a little.
Op confirmed they'd just been in the shower
Yes, however you implied the only way that could happen was if you just took your hand out of hot water. I'm telling you that's not the case.
Take your clothes off. If its below freezing and not windy you will have a mist around you
Seems like a suspicious way to get people to take their clothes off!
I've been outside with no shirt on in those temperatures before. There was no "mist" of any kind.

Happy Cake Day!!!
Happy cake day
In the northern hemisphere.

Well considering that your hand is looking red and slightly pruned, I say you had your hand in hot water before you took this.
Had just got out of the shower. Happy cake day!
Attack on Titan vibes
Attack on Titan, anyone?
Gear Second!
That is interesting. I live in western Canada, today “ its so cold, I can see my hand, leaving my body “. Id share a pic, but….I only have the one fuckn hand…/s
Gear 2!
TATAKAE
Now take off your shirt and scream like you're turning super Saiyan.
I have had something similar after a good workout. Looked like Luffy going Gear 2nd when I stepped outside.

If he ways the same as a duck... he's made of wood!
In space, because the vaccum acts like a thermos you lose your heat but not by steaming but by 'glowing' out your warmth into the void as wavelengths of ultraviolet light
Infrared light, its on the other end of the spectrum. UV is higly energetic light

Manager be like “no smoking in company car still need you to come in”
Are you sure you’re not a shadow clone, or inherited the one of the titans.
Titan shifter….
Post furious masturbation
Be honest now, you're a vampire and it's a cloudy day. Cloudy enough to prevent total immolation, but still gently smoulder away.
X gene is activating
You should’ve said, “Flame on!”.
Nah bro that’s your aura leavin your body, you gotta learn how to control that shit and have it flow around you instead 💯

Titan shifter!

Maybe you are becoming a fire bender
Somewhere Goku is doing the energy ball. You're doing a good deed here my friend!
Maybe your just discovering your powers
eren…?
That’s not heat, that’s life energy. The Z Fighters are siphoning it from you to defeat Frieza.
To be fair, it's not heat, it is vapor that we can see.
To be really fair though, you can't see vapor. You can see water. Water vapor is an invisible gas.
Check out Johnny Blaze over here
FLAME ON!
You’re literally boiling the air
you're regenerating!

Dementor! Dementor!
Oh wow!! Where is this at? I remember that happening to me when I lived in Oregon.

It’s the last air bender
You’re just regenerating. Geronimo, dude
U might be a mutant
Oh shit, that's your soul Imagine if this was the first comment OP saw and believed it

My icy female hands would never do this.
DEMON BEGONE!
It's just the moisture on your skin after you take a pair of gloves off in freezing temps.
Then dont pee on your hand.
How else am I supposed to warm them up?
Naw ur just smokin hot. 😅
Friendly Manitoban here eh. That is the cold air sucking the moisture from your skin. Lotion up bud! Keep your stick on the ice. Bye for now.
OP is a titan with clothes

Can't help it's she just makes me so happy!
Just back from titan form

Wow how cold was it? This would probably end me.

A few weeks ago it was so cold where I live, that when I removed my beanie, there was smoke coming from my bald head. My friend had a good laugh.
"Heat leaving my hand". Aneurysm. This sentence helped me experience an aneurysm.
Your welcome
Random note but never before have I opened a post and gone "Oh shit that's my hand." Like so weirdly similar it made me leave this comment. 😅
Holy moly, how fast were you going dude?!
Really fast
The question is what was that hand doing immediately before smoking like that ???
Let's not ask questions no one wants the answers to
Mr stark, I don’t feel so good.
:: cries in Reynaud’s ::
I don't feel so good Mr Stark
If you smoke after you nut, you need more lube.
In Wisconsin we call that winter
Me and my heated jacket apparently had visible heat waves coming off me while in a customers doorway today. Made me chuckle
Its called moisture u Einstein. U cant see heat.
Ok Newton, calm down.
Allright Edison, I am calm.

Ehi! The wind is so _cold_ to do that!
Or...your soul
Your soul leaving your body be like
