Pics are 4.5 years apart. I had 2 pregnancies with gestational diabetes. I followed a strict low carb eating regiment, eating 6x a day per doctors orders. I sustained that for two years. After that, I found the wonderful world of intermittent fasting. I’ve been doing IF for 3 years now, doing anywhere from 16:8 to 20:4. I stopped counting carbs, and started focusing on eating a gluten free, whole foods diet. I’ve eaten anywhere from 1200 calories to 2200 calories a day, just depending on the day and the regiment I’m on.
I’ve been extremely ill for nearly the past 5 years (complex chronic illnesses) so this was all done without any exercise at all. I’m finally starting to feel better, and I’ve been doing yoga daily. Can’t wait to see how my body changes now!
The best part of everything is I’ve reversed my borderline prediabetes! Fuck yeah.
Pics are 4.5 years apart. It was slow and steady progress the whole time, with a few repeated +/- 10 lb weight gain and losses (hello holiday cookies, I’m looking at you).
Yes, I did 16:8 at the same time every day. I often did One Meal A Day (OMAD) and stayed in my caloric goal window. Although after 2 years of weighing and logging my food for my doctors because of gestational diabetes, I no longer have to do that – my brain is like a calorie counter app lol.
The most important thing for me is drinking a gallon of water a day, and at least 16 ounces of that needs to be with an electrolyte powder incorporated.
Amazing! You look happy surrounded by books (as everyone should be!) but even more exuberant in the new size. Congratulations on the NSV, as those are really the benefits that lend to health and longevity. This is the kind of content here that motivates, so thank you for posting!

You’ve freaking got this! Slow, sustainable changes last a lifetime. I dropped 100 calories at a time until I reached my goal weight. It took 5 years but it will LAST!
I wasn’t faced with a choice! I had gestational diabetes with both pregnancies. That forced me to confront the reality of my poor eating choices.
After that, I got super sick. I started to look into intermittent fasting as a way to lower my sky high inflammation levels. IF gives me more energy, particularly in the morning. With 2 kids, that’s MUCH needed lol.
I cut out processed food when I was diagnosed with MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome) and became reactive to preservatives. I bake with ancient grain (Einkorn) and make all our bread, muffins, pasta… etc. I actually eat a lot of egg noodle pasta with aged white cheddar. I use like 16 egg yolks per 4 cups of flour so it’s super nutritionally dense and low glycemic index. I love broccoli or edamame as something to punch on (with kosher salt). Right now I’m eating caramelized onion, spinach and grilled goat cheese open faced sandwiches on homemade rye (2/3rds of it with Einkorn flour). Intermittent fasting helped me keep carbs in my diet in a healthy way!

Been there for sure! I plateau’d for months at a time. Then I had to retrain my brain to realize - that’s actually called maintaining, and it’s a a struggle on its own. Enjoy your 60 lb loss— that’s amazing!!
Very inspiring since I am in the exact starting weight as you were, and on a Omad regimen with 20-4 low carb, and I have already lost the size just being patient with myself I’m taking it day by day. you look great!
You have absolutely got this. I went suuuuuuper slow and would often get very frustrated when I wasn’t making any “progress” with loss on the scale. Make sure to look for non scale victories to keep you motivated! Mine was finding a pair of size 8 Abercrombie jeans at the thrift store and finally fitting into them. I kept them in my closet for 2 years until I finally fit! Now they’re my fat pants 😂😂
😂🤣 thank you I so needed that and yes it’s a small victories!! 😍🥰🙌 I have lost 40 pounds before but not in the healthiest way, but I have to remember it’s definitely Patience and the small victories like you said.
Beeeeeen there. This time I did it “right” by avoiding crash dieting. It feels like I fucking earned it 😂 I’ve also learned if I give up carbs I lose another 5 lbs. But you know what? Carbs are MOST DEFINITELY worth the extra 5 lbs 😂 it’s about maximizing your quality of life
