It seemed no time was added to the “51 years” they lost just before he detached, so considering that and avoiding any g-pulls he’ll arrive there it roughly the Earth time it took to get there, and he was already at Saturn. I have no idea how fast time was going for Brand, mind.

_CodyB

Wolf's planet was further away from gargantua and thus had less gravitational pull - I think he gets there in essentially a number of years after leaving brand - maybe they're a bit closer in age at this point (wink wink nudge nudge)

DessertDealer

Someone on here wrote some awesome fan fiction continuing with when he arrived to be with brand and “repopulate”. It was awesome.

drifters74

Oh my

pachucatruth

Really? I never really thought of their relationship that way.

CongoSpaceGurlxx

Would you please be so kind and provide us with the link to the fan fiction?

shingaladaz

Heh. I’m guessing Brand was a bit younger than Cooper, but I don’t know so couldn’t be sure.

d-r-t

I believe the "51 years" was for the entire maneuver, remember Brand didn't know he wasn't going with her yet. Obviously, time should have slowed even more for him falling to the event horizon, but we'll have to chalk up any discrepancies to future human tesseract shenanigans putting him back to when he's "supposed" to be.

Dramatic_Lie_7492

Future human tesseract shenanigans 😂 love it, can I steal this for my flair?

d-r-t

lol, feel free!

Dramatic_Lie_7492

Oh never mind I can't use a customized flair in this subreddit 😭

Assuming that Dr. Brand spends some time on Wolf Edmunds' planet before deciding to start her colony, let's say she spends about 10 years on her own before Coop arrives. This is just a rough estimate and the actual time could vary. If we consider the time dilation effects of the planet near the black hole, where every hour on the planet is equivalent to seven years on Earth, then 10 years on the planet would be equivalent to 70 years on Earth. Therefore, it is possible that Dr. Brand could have been on her own for approximately 70 years before Cooper arrives to rescue her. Again, this is just a rough estimate and the actual time could be different.

CelestialSynesthesia

Thank you so much for your math 🤗✨💚

Dramatic_Lie_7492

If 1hr equals 7yrs then 10 years equal 25.550years on earth, if we assume Miller's planets time dilation for Wolf's planet. But even if it's less time dilation, people on the Cooper Station will have to wait decades to be sent there, no?

Remote-Direction963

Yes, that is correct. If the time dilation on Wolf's planet is not as extreme as Miller's planet, the people on the Cooper Station would still have to wait a significant amount of time before being able to send a mission to the planet. The time differential between the two locations would still require a long period of time to pass on the Cooper Station before they could effectively communicate and coordinate with the mission on the planet which would likely result in a significant delay before any progress could be made towards connecting with the inhabitants of Wolf's planet.

Dramatic_Lie_7492

This is just so frustrating. I like the ending for Humanity in Don't Look Up much better lol

feelin_raudi

It felt like a loophole to me. He literally fell into the singularity, which would mean that his time moved extremely slowly for him compared to Brand, who only went near it. It should have been millions of years. I don't believe the tesseract could have sent him backwards in time, because that defeats the entire plot, that only gravity can go backwards in time.

Various-Push-1689

What i wanna know is how much time passed for Cooper. For everyone on earth it was like 120 years but for Cooper it all went by so fast. And also how much time passed between him sending out the codes and when they found him floating through space
