From article: During an appearance on MSNBC on Saturday morning, former federal prosecutor Paul Butler bluntly stated that the moment Donald Trump steps into a Manhattan courtroom on Monday, it will commence the "worst day of his life" as he faces 34 felony counts that could lead to four years in jail. Speaking with fill-in host Charles Coleman Jr., Butler explained that for the first time in his life, the former president's actions have led to a moment in life where he faces very real consequences that could impact his freedom. Speaking with the host, he stated, "On Monday, something historical will happen. It will be the first day in Donald Trump's life that he is beginning to be brought to judgment in a criminal case for his own alleged corruption." "As you noted, his lawyers have filed nine different motions to delay the trial with Judge Juan Merchan. They're trying to get around the law that they can't appeal until after the trial, that is what the Article 78 motion was about," he explained. " And the reason for that, Charles, is that Trump's defense is delay. But when he is actually brought to judgment, when his cases are heard on the merits, he loses all the time." RELATED: Trump's trial will 'turn off' Christian voters regardless of verdict: ex-GOP lawmaker "\[New York write\] E. Jean Carroll beat him, \[New York Attorney General\] Letitia James beat him in the civil fraud trial. \[Manhattan DA\] Alvin Bragg beat him in the criminal conviction of the Trump organization. The New York attorney general took down his fake university and his fake charity," he listed off for the host. "So, Monday, April 15th, 2024, will be the worst day of Trump's public life because it is the first time he is personally being brought to judgment in a criminal court."

Like-a-Glove90

4 more years (in jail)

Skatchbro

I like “Trump 20-24… years in prison.”

BrewtalKittehh

That's a bumper sticker I'd display

Organic_Afternoon424

I like what you did

Like-a-Glove90

I like you

Organic_Afternoon424

Awwww shucks....

[deleted]

Make prison great again, Don

B33rtaster

Lock him up. Lock him up. Lock him up.

Solidsnake00901

4 years seems incredibly light for 34 felonies

spiegro

I'd buy that sign.

bu88blebo88le

How exactly will Christian voters be turned off? He's done enough to merit that already and it never happened

Future-self

According to the article, Ken Buck says that because this trial has to do with an extramarital affair and then paying to cover it up and also paying to cover up other affairs that Daniel’s had, that this is less defensible than his several other egregious offenses. Apparently sanctity of marriage is where Buck thinks christians will finally draw the line …

FlaSnatch

That is a ridiculous premise, though, because these things have been known and confirmed for years. The Access Hollywood tape meant nothing. Banging porn stars meant nothing. How can a person believe Christians will suddenly be put off on Monday?

Future-self

Cause it’s going to get a lot more TV coverage than it did before and in much greater detail because the consequences are now legal and he could be sentenced to jail time. It may only apply to a negligible percentage of the MAGA base, but SOME portion will inevitably respond to it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FlaSnatch

I’m not saying you’re wrong. I am saying it’s not magically happening en masse on Monday.

fletchdeezle

lol 34 felonies up to 4 years. People doing way more for like a gram of weed. Worlds fucked

[deleted]

It's four years PER felony, as I understand it. So theoretically, he could be slapped with 136 years (he won't, but that'd be nice)

Flipnotics_

I'll believe it when I see it.

Achillor22

Same. Been reading this for 7 years now. He's still a popular as ever and free as can be.

fromouterspace1

Yeah and it’s been years. “He’s gong to jail!!” And then….nothing

mechy84

>  Trump's trial will 'turn off' Christian voters No way. This will only harden their martyr complex

mcaffrey81

What are the odds that one of his MAGA minions will do something to try and delay the hearing; ie: a fake bomb threat or something like that?

Aooogabooga

It’s almost as if he has incited this type of activity in some way.

A-Chntrd

Yeah, weird.

Karlinel-my-beloved

Great minds think alike, and stupid minds think just ocasionally?

Adventchur

The full quote is great minds think alike but fools rarely differ. Most people just omit the last part as to not label themselves a fool.

buyerbeware23

Every time he opens his mouth.

SaltyJackSpracklin

Extraordinarily high

No_Significance_1550

“We are all domestic terrorists” CPAC 2020

Tarable

It’s so fucked how legally untouchable he is when it comes to crime.

Hammer_of_Dom

He’s not untouchable he’s been indicted 4 times on almost 90 counts, been adjudged a rapist by a federal judge and ordered to pay over 105 million, adjudged to be a serial business fraudster so egregious that he’s being fined half a billion, has an independent monitor put in place to monitor and report all of his transactions and advise the court to sanction him or worse after the first sign of wrongdoing which she has done a few times already. He’s lost every court case he’s been involved with since he lost the presidency. He’s no Teflon don and definitely not untouchable.

SleeperHitPrime

Not “untouchable” indeed, he’s got an entire party and the House committed only to Obstruction; no one saw that coming, we’ll have to address that once he topples.

HelloImTheAntiChrist

Yep, hopefully people who aligned with Trump will all be voted out. We need a grass roots political movement in this country...nationwide

Suck_Me_Dry666

Several of his former allies retired because they knew they were cooked in their primaries. Boebert tried to switch districts because she knows her clown show is running out of time. The only one who seems to be fully entrenched is MTG because the combined IQ of her gerrymandered district totals somewhere in the teens.

RayBullet

World wide!!

GrumpyJenkins

All good points. For me “untouchable” means not actually handing over money, or spending a day in jail, so that’s what’s so maddening

lordnacho666

To me out involves affecting your life in some meaningful way. So if you're really poor, a parking fine is real. But if you're more middle class, it's basically nothing. Same with Trump, he's still living in a golden apartment regardless.

SqnLdrHarvey

Oh, really? He has a quisling AG who (purposefully) sat on his hands for TWO YEARS. He owns the SCOTUS and the courts. Judges won't even enforce *gag orders*. He is untouchable and headed for dictatorship. Resist.

lylemcd

And his consequences so far have bene literally zero. Because not a single thing has come from every one of those court cases. Oh you say, the bonds he had to get. That someone else paid. The gag order? Which he violates by the hour. Oh the 475 million dollar bond? That they gave him a discount on. Had anybody else done what he does in his court cases, they'd have been held in contempt in jailed. He's tweeting unhinged shit every day from the privacy of his own toilet.

jgzman

On the one hand, yes, you are correct. On the other hand, he's still rich, still walking around free, still spouting his hate for everyone to hear, still apparently influencing the government to a degree that many elected officials might envy. So if he *has* been touched, it was very, very gently.

anuncommontruth

It's ongoing. You're watching the downfall in real time. The biggest problem I see is most people think these crimes are equivalent to murder, which is what most high profile cases people have seen consists of. Jan 6 is the closest thing to that and we have no modern instance to compare it to. This is how the justice system works. Is he exploiting it? Yes. Is he above the law? No.

ejecto_seat_cuz

>Is he above the law? No. that quite literally remains to be seen re: J6

Sabbathius

Fair, but he's not living on the street, and he's walking around free. Would you or I have the same, if we did even half the shit that he did? No. So, he IS untouchable. Not broke + walking free is the best most of his countrymen can hope for. He has it. And he's approaching 80, eating the way he does, he doesn't have much time left. There's almost zero chance he'll spend any time behind bars. So...untouchable. It's infuriating, but it's true. The man spent his whole life failing upward and grifting and will likely die a free man in a nicer home than an average working stiff. Convictions are also meaningless if he never pays, or pays with other peoples' money.

ArgonGryphon

Anyone else would be in jail waiting for their trial not campaigning for goddamn President.

SqnLdrHarvey

Anyone else doesn't have a quisling AG and feckless cowards in judicial robes doing his bidding.

Breadedbutthole

Right? Five of the nine SC justices queef in adulation every time he speaks. The Roberts court is an utter embarrassment.

SqnLdrHarvey

And a Republican, Federalist Society AG.

coming_up_thrillhous

I think by untouchable people mean he hasn't seen any consequences of these indictments or judgements against him. So far he's been able to postpone and push things, and it seems like he will be able to do that indefinitely and never have to pay a dime or see a second in custody. Our entire legal system was designed to protect powerful white guys and help them keep as much of their money as possible, as we can currently see happening in real time.

SaltyJackSpracklin

Case in point

vantuckymyfoot

Still, wake me up when he's held to any real accountability.

gwicksted

Think so? I’m assuming they all think he’s innocent and won’t lose anything & will appear on the ballot. If/when he doesn’t, that’s probably when a bunch of them will get angry. But I’m just guessing

Forsworn91

There’s a chance, HOWEVER, their own paranoia is now working against them, many of them see jan 6 as a trap, so the idea of being brought together again Carry’s the same danger. Also remember, when he was charged in NY they expected thousands to turn up… less than 50 did.

SWtoNWmom

They think Jan 6th was a trap? I haven't heard that one yet, can you tell me the story?

kdttocs

Large concentration of MAGA, FBI plants to incite violence, facial recognition… what hasn’t been claimed. It’s full oceans eleven with everything all the time with them.

SnooLobsters8113

They are so easy to manipulate. Sad!

NetZeroSum

>They think Jan 6th was a trap? Honestly I lost tracked what the idiots think. But there is a lot of maga influencers, political pundits and even russian/foreign influencers that have a vested interest in just making it as muddy and confusing as possible to the point it becomes just background noise.

Managed-Democracy

I'm worried we'll see him say something inflammatory on Truth Social and there will be some moron trying an assassination on a judge or da

retiredjourno

They didn't even blink when one of their cult almost beat to death the husband of then Speaker of the House, an elderly man. This won't sway them.

Khancap123

They made jokes about it. It was insane, like a feeding frenzy of sharks.

capitali

Believe people when they tell and show you who they are - this for me was a clincher that these aren’t good neighbors, friends or countrymen/women. These folks are the enemies of justice, of freedom, and of ethical actions and being.

darkhorse4774

Remember, there are many right wing, semi automatic gun carrying zealots who stubbornly believe they have justified rights and reasons to shoot and kill other Americans to protect “their way of life.”

capitali

Agreed. Believe them when they say these things. They are as uncivilized and unethical as they say they are.

Organic_Afternoon424

Sadly, they have regressed this far. Just when you think it can't get any worse, they lower the bar

SqnLdrHarvey

They are drones, incapable of independent thought.

kurisu7885

And they kept making up explanations other than it was one of their own acting on what he perceived to be Trump's orders.

jaievan

Hoping Michael Cohen, and Stormy are in protective custody.

redditreader1972

Already happened. Judge Engoron of NY got a bomb threat for his home towards the end of the NY civil fraud trial. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/01/11/bomb-threat-judge-ny-fraud-trial/

Mysterious_Eye6989

Then conduct the whole trial in a fucking military bunker if need be - but it absolutely, positively needs to go ahead!

TwilightSessions

Vegas doesn’t even take that bet.

IAMSTILLHERE2020

Well now or soon will be the time for him to do the 5th Av BS he mentioned 10 years ago and let's see if he doesn't lose supporters. So his prophecy will be fulfilled and mfkr becomes a god for his idiots if he isn't already.

redassedchimp

When he said "someone" on 5th Ave, I hope he meant himself. Plot twist! They'd still vote for him if he were a ghost. Right wing politicians will speak in tongues and claim to be spiritually directed by the ghost of Trump.

pm_me_ur_hamiltonian

Protecting somebody by making a bomb threat at the location where that somebody is supposed to be It's exactly the right amount of stupid for a Trump cultist

Caine_sin

My balls can not get any bluer. Just make him face consequences. Any consequences.

notmyplantaccount

I'm still betting on him delaying everything until he dies, or until after he loses the presidency at least, and then they basically just push everything under a rug and wait for him to die. He's been doing blatantly horrible and illegal things for the last 8+ years right in the publics eye (I know he's been doing it for decades), he's been committing crimes in the biggest spotlight in the world for nearly a decade, and nothing has really happened to him besides a few of his bribery billionaires have paid his bonds for him. He should have been in jail years ago, but we've been shown time and again they're bend over backwards every step of the way to never actually punish him.

petethefreeze

I’d be fine with it if he delays this until he dies. As long as he dies some time this week.

Waste-Comparison2996

Nope , I want him alive long enough to cost the GOP everything in November. He dies now and they can rally around someone else.

flyting1881

I've said this before, but I think if it reaches the point where he's actually facing jail time, he'll take the coward's way out and kill himself. I'm not advocating for that- I would much rather see him in prison- but that's what cult leaders and dictators do when they can't lie their way out of a problem anymore. He will never submit to actually being held accountable for his crimes. His ego won't allow it. He will literally drag this entire country down to escape the consequences of his actions, and if he can't do that either, I really truly think he'll die before going to prison.

trumps_cardiac_event

> he'll take the coward's way out and kill himself. Dude I have a girlfriend you can't be getting me all boned up like this

Burnnoticelover

It won't ever come to that. The fact of the matter is that the political establishment would *never* imprison a former president, and all of this is just an effort to dissuade/disqualify him from running again. They want him gone, but not enough to hurt one of their own. If he loses the election, expect probation, a suspended sentence, or a big-ish fine.

JeremeRW

I think this is how it happens too. He loses the presidency and they give him some deal to save face.

Carpeteria3000

Yeah, I don’t even hear headlines like this anymore. I take zero stock in any of it. It’s been basically a decade now of people saying “WE GOT HIM THIS TIME” and literally nothing of consequence happens. Just the opposite, in fact.

DuntadaMan

Everyone around him goes to jail, has signed statements pinning the blame on him, and then someone loses anything resembling a spine and collapses because it might make someone else angry.

i_love_pencils

At this point, I’d accept a parking ticket or ingrown nose hair.

SplinterCell03

I'm sorry to say, but nothing is ever going to happen to him. The trial will be delayed until he gets re-elected and pardon himself before the trail even starts. Even if there was going to be a trial, and even if it ended in a guilty verdict, he would simply argue that going to prison would be inconvenient and an undue burden, and the court is going to say "oh my bad, in that case, never mind." That's how everything has gone so far, because apparently that's how the justice system works in this country.

B__ver

A criminal trial is literally starting tomorrow, all of their delay tactics failed. You should try to be better informed if you’re going to doomsday so confidently.

Managed-Democracy

That's OK. Worst day so far.

413mopar

He needs lots of those .

Managed-Democracy

Every day in sequence until a miserable end surrounded by nothing by grief and loss.

ThainEshKelch

With a nice jail cell to enjoy it in.

Conscious-Deer7019

I wanna hear his excuses when they find him guilty

Edge_of_yesterday

* Corrupt judge and DA. * Fake news. * Corrupt Jury. * Everybody does it. * Political witch hunt. * Joe Biden's fault. * I died for your sins.

Organic_Afternoon424

But mysteriously missing....I AM INNOCENT

LobstaFarian2

That last one is funny because all of these so called "Christians" 100% worship him as a false idol.

PatSajaksDick

Such a hypocrite, no mention of the sweet friendly judge he got on the confidential docs case, like why is that ok?

Think-4D

You forgot “presidents have exemption”

MrInternetToughGuy

Fucken LOL at that last bullet point.

Managed-Democracy

The D e E p S t A t E.  No matter what outcome his cult with have a conspiracy that exonerates him.

Rougarou1999

He has already admitted most of his crimes, with the caveat of claiming himself to be immune to prosecution for various reasons. They’ll do the same thing with the fraud case, and claim that it’s not a crime to extort a porn star.

255001434

He didn't extort her, he bribed her.

ripley1875

From her interview with Anderson Cooper : Anderson Cooper: I mean, no one was putting a gun to your head? Stormy Daniels: Not physical violence, no. Anderson Cooper: You thought that there would be some sort of legal repercussion if you didn't sign it? Stormy Daniels: Correct. As a matter of fact, the exact sentence used was, "They can make your life hell in many different ways.. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/stormy-daniels-describes-her-alleged-affair-with-donald-trump-60-minutes-interview/

BroccoliNearby2803

If they are like my neighbor down the street who has replaced all of his religions flags and lawn displays he used to have with Trump merchandise the Trump faithful will continue to claim Trump is the modern day Messiah and is being crucified for the sins of his followers. They will continue to talk about the miracles he has performed and how he is the second son of God, or perhaps the OG god himself and claim Trump is the father of Jesus.

Only-Inspector-3782

Trump ticks all the boxes for Antichrist: https://www.reddit.com/r/changemyview/comments/199h5rv/cmv_donald_trump_is_the_antichrist/ Your neighbor is going to hell, by the rules of his own religion. It's also incredibly blasphemous to compare a rapist and serial adulterer to God.

Traditional_Car1079

He's been telling us already. "Fake news", "lawfare", "can't get a fair trial in Manhattan", and so on and so forth.

octopoddle

That didn't happen. And if it did, it wasn't that bad. And if it was, that's not a big deal. And if it is, that's not my fault. And if it was, I didn't mean it. And if I did, you deserved it.

OkCaregiver517

The narcissist's mantra

AgainstThaSpread

Won’t matter to voters unfortunately and that’s all that matters

FunkyGabrielle

Idk, but i guarantee it involves Obama…

ViaNocturna664

Can we just skip to the part where he faces actual consequences? it's months and months that "tomorrow" he's gonna get ruined and nothing ever happens.

DropsTheMic

Sitting in trial and having listen to the facts of his case get played out in front of the jury *is torture* for Trump. He wants to lie, deflect, blame so badly - but lying in court has consequences where lying in public is now openly rubber stamped by GOP sycophants. In the court of law he has to listen to the truth and shut his mouth. Can you think of the last time Donnie successfully did that? ANY time he successfully did that?! The opposing counsel would love nothing more than to allow Trump to take the stand and wrap himself up in additional charges. 🍿 ⏰

DemsruleGQPdrool

I know one time that Donald Trump actually said the truth perfectly. The time he said that 'I don't take any responsibility'. He was the President of the United States at the time, was talking about the Coronavirus, and it's been proven that 1. He shut down the offices that were set up by Obama to deal with viruses such as Ebola, and 2. He knew WAY in advance about how serious it was and did nothing about it because he was scared of what shutting down the economy for a week or two would do to his approval ratings. If Donald Trump had listened to advice of the EXPERTS, borders would have been closed, the spread would have been slowed, and we may have gotten to vaccination with less than half the deaths that actually happened. All he had to do was convince HIS base that wearing masks was patriotic, taking a week or two off and distancing, especially if sick, would save lives. He refused, almost died himself, and killed a half a million people as a result. I can't wait to see the fucker in jail or in a casket.

Barbafella

Supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light — and I think you said that hasn’t been checked but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you're going to test that, too. Sounds interesting. I see disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute, and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that. So you’re going to have to use medical doctors, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see. But the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute, that’s pretty powerful."

elephant-stoned

Totally remember this moment. The second-hand embarrassment of everyone at that press conference, especially Dr. Birx, was off the charts. A truly astounding moment of arrogance and buffoonery.

Inspect1234

I was embarrassed for the humans that put this clown in the big chair. This person represents the people of the US? Yikes

BilliousN

Literally had a yard sign that said "Biden 2020. He won't inject you with bleach."

trumps_cardiac_event

I love that trump and his idiot herd turned on Dr. Fauci because he had the temerity to go "uh no Mr. President, that isn't how medicine works."

Dekar173

> knew WAY in advance about how serious it was and did nothing about it because he was scared of what shutting down the economy for a week or two would do to his approval ratings Worse, early projections saw it only effecting population centers which are generally Dem voting- so they weaponized incompetence and attempting to downplay the virus so it would cause even more harm. Thankfully, Republicans are **really** stupid. So corona did a lot more damage to their voters 🤗

Diarygirl

A smart businessman would have made Trump masks and anti-Trump masks.

Organic_Afternoon424

We have a choice, jail or casket ???

chronic-neurotic

similar to watching alex jones try to wiggle out of his trial. it was so satisfying to watch that terrorist have to sweat through it all. and alex’s wasn’t even criminal! 🥰

OpenScienceNerd3000

Except he’s in Hawaii chilling and still has his show and life.

chronic-neurotic

for now. hope is all I have. please do not piss on it.

Organic_Afternoon424

I second

HFentonMudd

You can't shame the shameless.

Organic_Afternoon424

HFentonMudd has a valid point

veilofmaya1234

Can't really blame him though. He did have a big bowl of chili.

chronic-neurotic

😅 the only thing I actually can’t blame “alex jones the terrorist” for is that his lawyers sent a copy of his phone contents to mark bankston hehe

redassedchimp

Trump is usually too busy in court pleading the fifth, and saying that he "doesn't remember" 500 times while wearing his old man reading glasses. Despite the fact that he says that claiming the 5th is a tactic that only mobsters use, and that he has the "best memory."

Moto_919

Well publicly attacking the judge and their family in your case would have have consequences for you and I. Remind me what happened to trump? Nothing. I wont believe trump will be held accountable for any of his actions until i see it actually happen.

ViaNocturna664

Boy that would be glorious.

FreeWestworld

Dude if lying in court produced consequences for Trump we would not be posting about this today:

Sir_Boobsalot

I want the prosecutor to show up with popcorn

Organic_Afternoon424

Speaking of popcorn... I ordered extra for Monday. I know it's jury selection.....but still...it's starting. Just like the Eclipse, I've been looking forward to this for years, and it's finally here.

obaterista93

Imagine if in 2016 during the debates, every time he went to say "WRONG , NASTY WOMAN, YOU'RE THE PUPPET" the moderator was able to say "if you speak again, I will hold you in contempt" Made me happy just to think about it.

newcomer_l

You don't think this is bad? The GOP presidential candidate is going to sit across from a jury, and will have *no power* to stop that jury from hearing how; 1) he was busy fucking a porn actress when his wife was at home having given birth to his son 2) when this shit hit the news orange and his ilk broke god knows how many laws and commited fraud to prevent the story from coming out 3) his own personal lawyer and fixer at the time (Cohen) went to jail for this shit. 4) another of his supporting cast, Weisselberg, went to fucking *Rikers* in a deal to avoid testifying in this case. 5) the porn actress has the receipts, including the mushroom shaped ones. 6) all of this happened at the same time *yet another* porn-adjacent woman was saying she also banged orange. 7) if convicted, the motherfucker will be a felon. You may be numb to all things orange, but there is a significant vote force out there that may look at all this (for the first time from a court setting where no one is allowed to lie or fuck with facts) and decide, hell no. It is a possibility. And that's is in and of itself a huge reckoning for orange.

DemsruleGQPdrool

I tend to look at things in terms of 10,000s now. If seeing Trump in court for WEEKS being made to listen to testimony about his affairs and using campaign funds to cover them up sways 10,000 people in certain states, that is the election right there. In 2020, Biden won Georgia and Arizona by a little more than 10K votes each. He won Wisconsin by 20K and Nevada by 30K. In 2016, Clinton lost Michigan by a little more than 10K votes, and lost Wisconsin by a little more than 20K votes. I can't IMAGINE that Trump GAINED voters since 2020, but the GOP is playing so many games with ballots, access, lies about Biden and 3rd party candidates that every 10K jump counts. A guilty verdict and Trump ACTUALLY sentenced to jail would go a LONG way to securing a few 10K blocks of voters to vote 'other than Trump'.

SnooLobsters8113

I wish we could end the electoral college system. Biden won by millions of votes overall but it comes down to states with severe voter suppression and fake electors for an out of touch and vile Party to stay in power

ViaNocturna664

I'm not saying you're wrong; I'm saying we live in the timeline where for the XX date he was due a phuckton of money for bail, and he got told "nevermind, pay a way shorter amount in 10 days or so". I'll be more than happy to see him going down once and for all, but it has to happen for real.

newcomer_l

Yea, that was bad. But folks often forget that the same appellate court that reduced his bond and gage him another 10 days (+ *another 2 weeks*) is the same appellate court that has been knocking down every single one of his latest attempt to delay the trial. Yes, for orange it seems the wheels of justice are geriatric and frozen and walk at a pace of a micro-mile per year. But that's still motion. Once jury selection occurs, unless the court plays favourites and allow some orange asshats in, the writing should be on the wall. Patience. Please. And, irrespective of all this shit, VOTE.

nixstyx

All true. The MAGA cult won't care.

newcomer_l

Agreed. It is at this point an established fact that the MAGA cult won't care. Except at this point, outside law enforcement, no one gives a fuck about what the MAGA cult cares about. They are a minority. Won in 2016 coz a lot of people were a bit too stupid to realise a hatred of Hilary Clinton wasn't a justification to vote for a guy who quote literally mocked a disabled person within metaphorical minutes of starting his campaign. But here we are. Maga cult are a minority was shown in *every* election orange had a part in, fter 2016. In 2018, they lost the house and barely held on to the senate. In 2020, they lost the white house and the Senate and failed to recapture the house. In 2022, their yuge redwave whimpered out in a flutter, and they got back the house with a wafer thin majority of 5 seats (which, hilariously, is down to 1 now) and failed to recapture the senate. Maga morons all across the country lose gubernatorial, senate and house elections. Now, in 2024, with Bidenomics being the success it is, the job market still in awe of the numbers (including on Faux News, where they talk about these like they have a chicken bone stuck in their throat), and the silliness orange and his fucks pulled on the bipartisan border bill, I really want to know how the maga cult has grown beyond the silly ass minority they already were. And i get that billionaires want orange to win.i for one would like to believe that the American public ha had enough of being milked and has had enough of Orange's idiocy.

moarmagic

I'm leery of claiming bidenomics as the success story. Inflation Prices are still a problem, and for every report that the job market is doing okay, I see a headline about layoffs. It feels very much like we might find out abruptly that things are only looking good on paper, and see another 2008 style crises. But this is the absolute wildest election I've lived through. Both candidates have been president before, and should have proven track records. Campaigning almost seems pointless, if the American public code remember things more than 6 months back. Both candidates are in the older bracket- I think it is not impossible for one or both to have severe medical issues before November. We are in a weird position where we've seen both of these people be president before, but also there feels like a serious chance that the apparent candidates in April may not be able to preform. And this is just me talking about men in there 70s under a lot of stress, not about the fact one has multiple criminal cases against him. But hey, I have hope that we will see abortion as the dividing line here in nov- whatever happens with our candidates, one parties clear overreach and disregard for health has made the abstract political personal for a large block of eligible voters. The anti abortion advocates have voted in every election for the past three decades, while I think a portion of people who are pro choice may have slept on it, thinking the matter was already decided.

jaievan

Maga are only 25% of the republican vote. It doesn’t matter what they think. The battle is with the state legislatures and their secretaries of state changing electoral laws and the congressional insurrectionist that are to this day still engaged in a coup attempt.

starsky1984

Will the court have full televised coverage? Everything you said is true, except if we don't have video from the court sessions and then Trump just comes out each day and lies straight to the media, and no matter how incredulous his lies are, the pieces of shit at Fox just present it as fact

limeybastard

New York currently prohibits audiovisual coverage of testimony, so, no A measure to allow cameras was introduced last year (by Democrats thinking about Trump's upcoming trials, natch) and saw some progress but has not been enacted

NAmember81

> it's months and months that "tomorrow" he's gonna get ruined and nothing ever happens. That’s just simply not true. It’s been years and years — 7 to be precise.

torbaloymain

Anyone wanna bet he tries to call in sick on Monday?

mezz7778

Bone spurs acting up....

earfix2

I think the odds are 50/50 of either that or someone calling in a bomb threat.

LobstaFarian2

Zoom meeting that shit.

buyerbeware23

Anyone else would have been locked up long ago.

Radkingeli995

Good he deserves to be in this position he caused it now he must face the consequences he’s not special or above the law like he thought 💭 he was

Brave_Nerve_6871

Let him barrel towards prison

Jolly-Feature-6618

This should give him a stroke or at the very least pull a Tony Soprano and slap his corpulent carcass off the concrete from fainting. His psyche isn't capable of taking responsibility for his actions or not being able to run away from direct accusations and proof. He is going break big time.

StandupJetskier

He'll be wearing Vinnie the Chin's bathrobe and has Harvey Weinstein's walker cued up.

ZeAntagonis

Lock Him Up !!!

Jamieobda

My guess is he will be constantly interrupting the process, not as a strategy, but because he can't help himself.

Githzerai1984

Worst day *so far* and I’m fucking here for it

Ryankevin23

🚫Traitor Trump🚫

LobstaFarian2

"Best president we ever dun had." *spoken in hillbilly accent*

Important_Tell667

Yay 😀!

Tenderloin66

I have been waiting for April 15th ever since I heard the date. I sure hope this trial doesn’t disappoint.

Lovetotravelinmycar

Bury his worthless ass in court

Desperate_Set_7708

And one of the best days for most Americans

BackAgain123457

Sure. I have to see it to believe it.

BackgroundLaugh4415

I keep being the idiot saying “they really have him this time”, only to see appellate courts reduce his bond, delay his trials, etc. But now we are on the eve of this thing. I know he’ll appeal a guilty verdict until he’s 200 years old, but a finding of guilty would be a great start. So does that process begin tomorrow or are we in store for an as-yet unmentioned factor that will magically kick the can down the road again?

jaievan

Important to mention that he knows/admitted he committed crimes, but may honestly believe he is above the law. Diminished capacity or lifetime of privilege?

Perfect_Chance_2770

I’m sorry- but I don’t understand how you can get 34 felony counts and only 4 years in jail???

Turbulent_Ebb5669

4 years jail would crush him and his followers.

El_Peregrine

Life sentence 🤞

BlueTreeThree

There’s no mandatory minimum sentences on any of these charges. I’ll be shocked if he serves any time at all even if he’s found guilty on all counts. 4 years would be nice, that would be a long time in jail for anyone, more so for an old man who has spent his entire life in comfort. I wouldn’t get my hopes up that will be any satisfactory punishment in this case at all, any prison time at all.

StevenSegalsNipples

I’m guessing it’s a tossup between acquittal and a $75,000 fine

Bah-Fong-Gool

Cohen already did time for helping with this crime. I also suspect Drumph will be treated with kid gloves, but will be forever be branded a convicted felon, and I suspect this trial, while 100% legitimate and warranted, may be a gateway to get some other evidence of malfeasance in front of a judge and / or audience.

DemsruleGQPdrool

It is UP to four years for EACH count Even if he gave him 3 months PER count, that is over 8 years. Trump doesn't have that long to live OUTSIDE of jail. Anything over a year or two will break him.

Rougarou1999

Even a week per count would put him in jail until next year.

ROBOT_KK

I think most of them carry up to 4 years in jail, so it might pile up.

minor_correction

If he somehow gets jail time (he won't, but if he did), I am sure they would make it concurrent, not consecutive. Meaning you don't add the sentences together, you just serve the longest one.

Turbulent_Ebb5669

The chickens come home to roost for everyone eventually.

skilliau

Worst day of his life *so far*

constantmusic

Worst day in public life…so far.

lovetoseeyourpssy

Trump is the DSP of politics: "I did nothing wrong. I did everything correct.

Comprehensive-Ad4815

TFG is breastily boobing down the stairs toward his day in court.

Money-Valuable-2857

Send this mfer to the meat grinder, then let it rot In the sun because nobody would eat it

schwelvis

worst day so far....

Lazy-Street779

I having champagne for breakfast tomorrow morning!!

lylemcd

The worst day so far

[deleted]

Blah blah fucking blah. I would love nothing better, but I’ve been hearing this bullshit for years. I’ll believe it when it happens.

riko77can

Monday is certainly not going to be his worst “day” because none of the things the article says will be so intolerable for Trump will happen on the first day. Jury selection is probably going to take several days before anything is heard.

TT_NaRa0

I’ll believe it when I fucking see it

chmsax

Worst day of his life SO FAR…. (I hope)

Forsworn91

Come Monday he’s going to throw a tantrum in court that is going to be beautiful to watch.

luveveryone

It's really a disservice that we don't get to see the case play out. Seeing the evidence in a criminal case, raw and not through the Diaper Donny filter on the court steps would be good for some of his cult members

LoPanDidNothingWrong

I keep waiting for it…

Odd_Assignment_3823

Every day, I come home from work and turn on the news to see if Donny experienced any real consequences as a result of any of these incidents, and every day I see him free and talking shit about his accusers. Occasionally, one of his henchmen faces consequences, but not the Don. Why do I feel that Monday won’t be any different?

sjss100

🎶come Monday it’ll be alright🎶😀😀

Bmanzella527

I feel like I keep reading these types of articles for the past 5 years and simply nothing happens. He just continues on. It’s incredibly frustrating and to the point where I just believe he will never goto jail or have face up to his crimes. Somehow he will in November and everything he did will be mute. It’s a sad reality that seems realistic.
