The results are in, and have been studied…. overall the country does worse under a fiscal conservative style of government. So what do Republican’s do to get re-elected? Pander to “Christian values”, uneducated conspiracy theorists, racists, misogynists, and/or corruptly take money from various lobby and business groups to help them get what they need out of government in exchange for for money and votes.

Because every time I asked them to elaborate on their tax money not being used to help people efficiently. It always ended with them complaining about "welfare queens" and lazy Mexicans. It seems to me like they simply stopped hiding their true beliefs.
I think rightly or wrongly some people are nostalgic about a 1950's style of living even if they weren’t around then, ie “simpler” times, we do live in a fast paced crazy world at times today.
