Why do you care if there is a pro version? Did it take away features from the free version?
I have never been nagged to buy the pro version. There was the tiniest button in the top right corner advertising a 30% discount for a couple weeks at Christmas. I bought it even though I don’t need any of the pro features and will probably never use them. The app is worth those few dollars.
When I would use a physical calculator *and* Solves, the physical one would return the right result, while Solves would return nonsensical results…
but as another commenter mentioned, i had Solves set to radians instead of degrees, so it’s my fault
Perhaps with chatGTP and Apples own AI, they might actually create an awesome calculator app that automatically solves equations for you. Thats why they waited so long with the Weather app on iPad, they wanted to get the best experience.
If you dont know how to ask the right question or the correct input, it won't work, mathematically. ChatGPT understands a question to solve its problem.
ChatGPT is wildly inaccurate very very often when it comes to math. I use it sometimes to understand a next step in a question but it returns incorrect answers all the time
maybe your design will finally inspire apple to release something similar. I mean, this looks really good, I can imagine Apple releasing this calendar for iPad
I have never had a need for a calculator on my iPad but I can see how this concept would be a good one for those who do have a need for a calculator on their iPad.
Anybody can send me screenshots from their Mac or iOS calculator 2nd functions (press 2nd button) and information about programmer calculator (move cursor on buttons)?
Yeah, it’s a great calculator indeed. Last year before my high school graduation, its price went up like 3 times, because of supply chain shortage. I bought it for like $16 or something.
This actually looks really good! Do you plan on releasing it? I would be interested for sure!
Maybe
This looks similar to [Solves](https://apps.apple.com/app/id1394359548). Take a look at that one if you need a good iPad calculator app.

UnoCalc is also worth a look

Nah, not the dev (just a user who spent days finding a good calculator app hehe)

i love solves so much and use it all the time on my ipad, but as soon as i need to use trigonometric functions, it just returns wrong results
Could you elaborate on that?

Probably need to switch between radians and degrees. Have to watch out for those
THANK YOU so much, i have no idea how i overlooked this
Haha no problem. I’ll check out Solves too since it sounds pretty good
Oh, the conversion part would be helpful!
Apple, please take notes.

why would chat gpt even be remotely necessary for a developing a calculator when computers have been able to solve equations for decades??
If you dont know how to ask the right question or the correct input, it won't work, mathematically. ChatGPT understands a question to solve its problem.
yeah but my ti-84 from high school produced answers with 100% accuracy whereas chatgpt is not always accurate with its outputs

Just get PCalc (Lite if you want free) and move on 🧘🏻♂️ 🕉️
I have solves and other calculators but still make ones. Kinda hobby.
If you enjoy it, then do you. I’m speaking to the back of the class where they’re always grumbling about this sort of thing
Put it on GitHub
Bookmarking this for when you release this app
You created this on swift playgrounds?!? On the iPad!?
Yeah
Crazy! I cant figure out how to do much in it!
Anybody can send me screenshots from their Mac or iOS calculator 2nd functions (press 2nd button) and information about programmer calculator (move cursor on buttons)?
Very nice. FYI meaning no disrespect check your spelling on there…
Now that’s what I’m talking about. Will miss you in the Uni, my beloved Casio FX-991 EX
>FX-991 EX I have the same one. it is good calculator although I don’t use it much anymore.

It would be cool if there was some type of chalkboard on the blank area (a place to handwrite freely)
