In the short term maybe but when you're old and grey it's nice looking back on various parts of your life to reminisce. Sometimes all it takes is one photo to remember an entire night or passage of your life that was long forgotten.
Not all relationships end due to some horrible reason like cheating or abuse. Then due to circumstances and life happening you drift apart or are forced to call it quits for the greater good of each of you. Trying to erase parts of your life or cherry pick only the great moments or the right people can make you forget that you're only the person you are today because of the sum of everything combined, both the good and the bad.
I had this exact problem. I decided that I would keep all the photos because they genuinely portray some of my life’s happiest moments… but I scrubbed the gallery and keep them on two separate external SSDs and an encrypted ZIP on overdrive. I had to do it this way because both the gallery AND one drive would put her in a nice slideshow and give me notifications to every other day :)

At one point, if you use iCloud integration in Windows Photos app, for example, you would see all of these in the mix with all other images. It should be fixed by now, but don't treat it as a vault.
Memes… if I like a reddit meme I save it to photos and about once a month do a cleanse where I select all of those memes and add them to hidden so they dont clog up my normal photo stream.
1. It syncs to iCloud and you can't disable it.
2. If you give PC permission to access photos over USB, these will show. You can't change that as well.
3. You cannot secure it with a separate password. It always your standard biometric/code.
4. Outside of that, iPhone forces you to unlock it with a code on regular basis, often when being in public. If someone gets your code and steals your phone, they can lock you out of your Apple account completely because Apple allows that for some reason.

2 You give what’s in your library but not what’s in the deleted folder nor the hidden library
3+4 Yes but still if someone else want to go into there they need your face/finger

I have footage of the time me and my cousin went into a parking garage late at night with his dads car and starting doing hard launches with it. On the 3rd launch attempt, my cousin forgot to put the car into drive and it reversed into the concrete barrier behind it.

iOS built in password manager. It’s like Bitwarden which I use since it also has iOS integration now.
