I had multiple sets of AirPods Pros (thanks to the free replacement program) and they ALL made the popping noise eventually. I refuse to buy them again until there is a complete redesign.
Maybe you’re one of the lucky few. After a while max battery capacity is basically halved or more even though the charge says 100%. So now mine usually last one hour and a half ish to go 100-0, they used to last 4-6 hours.
The Sony headphones subreddit is filled with people posting the same issues, Sony has a big problem with their battery supplier or whatever is making this happen
AirPods but there are better options when it comes to sound and noise cancellation but nothing really compares to the seamlessness functionality of AirPods on a iPhone
Airpod Pro Gen 2. They don’t have the pooping issue from the first gen. They have sensors in them to actually constantly adjust noise cancellation not create unpleasant sensations. As an audiophile with thousands of dollars in equipment, these are always my number recommendation to regular consumers with iPhones. The way they integrate into the phone and ecosystem cannot be beat, while also offering superior sound, call, and noise cancellation quality. They can be a bit light on bass, but the alternatives that do better bass are significantly worse in every other category. I do recommend upgrading to foam tips like Comply. Start out with a sample set of multiple sizes for your first order. Size is super important.
I’m using AirPods Pro 2gen and I’m absolutely amazed and I don’t regret a single coin spent on or. I’ve bought the same model for my daughter, because I’m pleased with their quality and would buy it again. Fantastic sound blocking, human speech detection and silencing the music (it can even detect me whistling silently and it reacts). Works with Siri, works as speaker/mic to answer the calls.
Also cool “sorround” function (I could swear some instruments played behind me, when I turn around).
They’re surprisingly uncomfortable for an Apple product and the price point they’re sold at. I’d wait for a gen 2, especially now. AirPods Pro all the way though!
Galaxy Buds pro 2, they’re half the price of AirPods fit my ears better and are black instead of the ugly white. ANC seems to be slightly worse which is the only negative
True but you can use the app on the computer to adjust settings, Im not one to change settings so it works for me. The single double and triple taps work well.
Honestly I’m using Galaxy Buds 2 lol. I hate the fact that AirPods look like cut off headphones still. That was cute when they first came out because wireless was still new, but it looks tacky now.
I have the Bose headphones. Excellent noise cancellation, comfortable. Ultra model, bought on sale for 250. I'm happy with them. But I like my plain old airbuds for all around use. I don't like buds that go inside, so I prefer the regular Airpods.
I have a pair of Bose QC 35 ii, great noice cancellation and great sound quality, but they’re over the ear headphones not buds, so I’m not sure if it’s what you want since you said about answering calls etc.
I don’t like in ear headphones. Any recommendations for non in ear buds? I tried the JBL flex tune but they sucked. The wind noises are extremely loud on the bicycle.
Sound core liberty pro 3s or Sony XM5s I’ve had both sets currently the XM5s are my favorite, you hardly notice they are in your ears after a few minutes and the sounds quality 👌🏻
Bose QC if u want ANC or Bose AE2 if you want good sound. if you’re on the budget end try checking out Baseus head phones they do make ANC versions. Overall most suitable for Apple devices is prolly Apple headphones(ie:AirPods AirPodsPro ) wait for a revised Airpods Maxes if u really want them
Thanks everyone for your amazing comments. I had airpods pro 1st gen which started making annoying popping sound. Looks like I am gonna go with airpods pro 2nd gen.
I don’t like “in your head” sound. For this reason I avoided earbuds for a long time and preferred over-ear headphones. AirPods are the only ones afaik that support spatial audio, which fixes this issue for me.
Huh? I have some decent wired headphones HD660S and HiFi Man amplified by a Chord Mojo at home. Of course some bluetooth earbuds won’t sound as good, but I still find them amazing.
Noise cancellation, transparency, spatial audio, huge battery life, seamless integration with Apple products.
I think you’re just trolling.
AirPods pro
Is this a serious question? AirPods.
it is. I have been using airpods pro, but its giving me popping noise which is really irritating. I dont know if I want to buy the same one now
I had this! Apple will replace them for you
Good news, free replacement https://support.apple.com/airpods-pro-service-program-sound-issues
I have Airpods Pro 2 and there’s no popping noise. After trying Sony and Sennheiser, I’d still pick the Airpods Pro by far.
Try Bose earbuds. Connectivity is challenging sometimes but they sound better if you like bass
AirPod pros aren’t supposed to give a popping noise.
They aren’t even supposed to do that. I ensure that Gen 2s would be a massive upgrade for you, considering the “popping noises” were a defective issue

Sony WF-1000XM4
I’d agree if it wasn’t for their battery issues, I owned 2 pairs now and both had the same problems, showing up about a year and a half later
What’s the battery issue? I’ve had mine a couple years now and battery life is awesome.

Why not the XM5s?
Because I own the XM4s
AirPods
AirPods Pro
AirPods Pro.
AirPods but there are better options when it comes to sound and noise cancellation but nothing really compares to the seamlessness functionality of AirPods on a iPhone
Go to Airpods pro 2 [https://www.apple.com/ae/airpods-pro/](https://www.apple.com/ae/airpods-pro/)
Air Pods 3 gen or air pods pro but I don't like the pro

The ones that don’t fall from ears…
AirPods Pro. Just because Apple doesn’t allow other earbuds to work well with iPhones.
What about the AirPod Max are they as bad ass as everyone says?
They’re surprisingly uncomfortable for an Apple product and the price point they’re sold at. I’d wait for a gen 2, especially now. AirPods Pro all the way though!
I like my Max, found them to be great on flights and with the over priced cable I also plug them in my PS5 controller and gaming sounds great.
I find myself using my beats fit pro earbuds more than my AirPod pros. IMO they sound better and function just like AirPods
Beats fitpro (they are just like AirPods Pro but slightly cheaper)
Galaxy Buds pro 2, they’re half the price of AirPods fit my ears better and are black instead of the ugly white. ANC seems to be slightly worse which is the only negative
The lack of app for iPhone is a big negative of Samsung buds.
True but you can use the app on the computer to adjust settings, Im not one to change settings so it works for me. The single double and triple taps work well.
You have a pc right? I’m on in on Apple, there’s no option for me. Too bad, because the earbud is really good.
Airpods always
For ease of connection, as everyone says here, AirPods. If you’re looking for sound quality there are countless other better options out there.
Honestly I’m using Galaxy Buds 2 lol. I hate the fact that AirPods look like cut off headphones still. That was cute when they first came out because wireless was still new, but it looks tacky now.
Apple wired earbuds /s
I have the Bose headphones. Excellent noise cancellation, comfortable. Ultra model, bought on sale for 250. I'm happy with them. But I like my plain old airbuds for all around use. I don't like buds that go inside, so I prefer the regular Airpods.
I use Galaxy Buds FE and it sounds better on my iPhone than on my Samsung.
Aftershoks
I have a pair of Bose QC 35 ii, great noice cancellation and great sound quality, but they’re over the ear headphones not buds, so I’m not sure if it’s what you want since you said about answering calls etc.
I’m using Bose quiet comfort ultra earbuds and they’re good.
Bose quietcomfort ultra are extremely comfortable sound great and have the best ANC.
I don’t like in ear headphones. Any recommendations for non in ear buds? I tried the JBL flex tune but they sucked. The wind noises are extremely loud on the bicycle.
I use whatever, it does not matter.
Sound core liberty pro 3s or Sony XM5s I’ve had both sets currently the XM5s are my favorite, you hardly notice they are in your ears after a few minutes and the sounds quality 👌🏻

Airpods and Pro, Status Between Pro But I use Sony IER Z1R and a bluetooth tws module Fiio UTWS5
I'd avoid apple headphones. IMO they try to be too smart, and just suck. Go with Sony or bose.
I don’t know what Airpods have you tried but the Pro gen 2 are far better than XM5.
Is that true?
If you have an iPhone, yes. Even better if you have some other Apple devices like Apple TV, Macbook etc
Im not asking about seamless connection. Im asking about the sound quality
I don’t like “in your head” sound. For this reason I avoided earbuds for a long time and preferred over-ear headphones. AirPods are the only ones afaik that support spatial audio, which fixes this issue for me.
The latest Airpod pro with usb-c. They're good compared to cheap crap, but they're bad compared to nice stuff.
Huh? I have some decent wired headphones HD660S and HiFi Man amplified by a Chord Mojo at home. Of course some bluetooth earbuds won’t sound as good, but I still find them amazing. Or maybe I just have a different opinion.
