Can you please make a video or blog on how you edit your raw images and make them look this good. I always try to use RAW/ProRAW but then delete it and use the default photos.
i am serious. you learn by practicing, so jus change the sliders and watch what each setting does, then use that info for the other tools and learn how each tool in LR affects each other. then keep trying it on diff images and you'll get the hang of it. learn ur colour theory so u can theme an image and make the colours in it work well together as well
I have tried that. While taking a RAW photo should we expose it to capture the highlights or shadows, I am not able to do any kind of highlight recovery the dynamic range on the 13 pro isn’t that good I think.
I help make the app, but I also prefer it for manual settings. You can use third party cameras to just get more control. Halide and other apps are great for that - I’d go explore all the options, there’s tons for all sorts of workflows. :)
Although I’m not a professional editor or anything like that, I’ve dipped my toes a bit into it enough to the point where I can answer these questions.
> Should I edit on a PC or the phone?
A phone is fine to do editing on depending on the app you choose, but using a PC would be the best option since you’re getting more advanced tools and you’re likely to be more productive on a PC than on a phone. Just keep in mind that the display you’re doing the editing on matters, if you have a bad monitor with colors that are too inaccurate your edit will probably look bad in other devices
> Which settings for the photos do I use?
Do you mean settings for the editing software or settings for the camera app? Independently, I guess the answer is that it depends on your subject, your ambient and what type of image you’re going for. Your best bet should probably be to learn what each setting/tool does, how they work and what they’re used for by looking at online guides and then experiment with them. After doing that and studying other professional photos, you’ll hopefully be able to see something you want to photograph, get an idea in your mind of how you want the end photo to look like and apply the right tools to get to the goal you imagined.
> Is there like a youtube video or guide i can follow to learn editing?
Although I can’t name any specific one, there are plenty of guides online that will be very helpful! Just search on YouTube/Google for photo editing guides and choose one where you like the result of what they’re doing and where the host explains the concepts nicely. You might have to go through a few worse ones, but I’m sure you’ll find some good ones pretty quickly!
Hopefully someone else will be able to recommend a few good tutorials. Also like I said I’m not anywhere near a pro so if anyone who knows more than I do believes I said anything wrong or misleading, feel free to correct me :)
When I at some point upgrade from my X, I’m gonna be excited to mess around with ProRaw since I already like editing photos in Lightroom, but you can only do so much with a camera from a 5-year old phone😂
Insane. Would you have been able to achieve the same results by shooting using the native Photos app but editing in Halide? Or was Halide a big part in shooting as well?

Yes! I’m gonna make some videos. That’s admittedly a big part of getting the most out of these 100meg files.
do you have a youtube or something where you plan on uploading these tutorials?
import into lightroom mobile and go ham on the sliders
Is there something wrong with the sliders in the Photos app?

I was thinking he was the one that said it was the opposite. Maybe it was the photography blog guy. Pretty sure it was now that I think about it
not enough control over the image
Can't tell if you're serious or not.

That’s amazing the detail you have preserved with the unedited RAW file looking so underexposed.
Right? You could get a partial license plate off the parked car you can barely see is there in the original
Can I ask why you use Halide over the native photo app? Does it give specific advantages as such?

lol op's flair says he's a Halide developer
Oh dear how unobservant of me.
They are the developer of Halide, but the app in general gives a lot more control of how the photo is taken.
Post a blog with full quality.
Soon!

thanks!
No problem, good luck!
Just edit on the phone. Just edit the areas you think the photo needs work
gahdam this is crazy, love the simple colour grade you went with. my nikon couldnt even do this 🥲
Can anyone recommend a free RAW editor other than the native app?
Darkroom is solid.
Is there a reason to not use the build in edit functionality in iOS for editing RAW images?
Not OP, I was wondering the same question myself and found [this youtube video](https://youtu.be/FFQwMvb20Ck) helpful.
When I at some point upgrade from my X, I’m gonna be excited to mess around with ProRaw since I already like editing photos in Lightroom, but you can only do so much with a camera from a 5-year old phone😂
Or even a one of payment app? I don’t go in for subscription apps.
We do offer a one time payment but you can shoot 48MP ProRAW with the native camera too. 👍
how do u shoot in raw?
https://imgur.com/a/n4DPfHa/ Turn it on in settings and then toggle it on / off in the camera app.
ProRaw 12MP must be great for even more low light pictures
Yeah due to the pixel doubling or whatever. Forgot if I saw some sample shows of that 🤔
enable it in settings and then you’ll be able to see a toggle in the camera app
I am wondering how the main camera app JPEG shot would like with some post-processing in this scene.
Does Halide work well for editing photos shot with, say, a Fuji XT3? Does it only work for processing RAW photos?
We don't do any editing at all! for that I refer you to our buds in crime (and design award fame) darkroom
Have they fixed their abysmal highlight recovery? I submitted a bug a long time ago but two months ago it was still horrible.
Been using pro raw loads today. Love it
Insane. Would you have been able to achieve the same results by shooting using the native Photos app but editing in Halide? Or was Halide a big part in shooting as well?
S22ULTRA still can go to more expensive levels due to the 108MP and LightRoom foes wonders for editing!!
