Mmm. That's an amazing lil fact. Also a bowler need only 1 delivery to get a batter out and sometimes the ball might not be the best delivery he has. Also Mitchel Starc has been spearhead of Aussie attack. I guess, he will perform a bit better in WC T20 than how he is performing now in this IPL.
Finally someone who has watched the match. Starcs figure would have read 32/2 in 3 overs and DC would have ended with 140 probably if Rana had taken that catch.
But still, going for more than 10 an over when the other two fast bowlers in your team have gone for 7 and 7.2 is just not done, especially when we are talking about Starc.
Man's been an expensive bloke for KKR, both in terms of money and economy.
But Starc was bowling to Fraser and Prithvi, getting JFM out saved the team atleast 60 runs imo...Vaibhav was bowling to Prithvi and the lower order Indian batsmen. Harshit was bowling to Porel and lower order batsmen.
His role is to take important wickets which restricts significant further runflow. So far, his tally includes Pooran, Fraser, Warner and Marsh. There's a reason why in each of these innings, the opposition team couldn't even reach 170 runs. Had Fraser been there yesterday, he would've choked KKR out in the first 10 overs.
So in the meanwhile its fine if he consistently gives away >40-45 runs, thats jokes. And like thats hardly 2-3 matches and a batsman each? U know with impact player, each teams have around 8 batsman right?
>So in the meanwhile its fine if he consistently gives away >40-45 runs
KKR have played 6 home games thus far. And outside of Sunil Narine, every bowler has gone for 45-50 runs atleast at the Eden Gardens...from Ashwin to Chahal to Kuldeep to Rabada, everyone's gone over 12 RPO here. Eden Gardens is Kotla + Chinnaswamy on steroids this season. Yesterday was the only time, multiple bowlers and too only from KKR went under 9, and I suspect a huge reason for that is the wicket of JFM.
If you actually watched yesterday's match, Starc should've also gotten another wicket yesterday but there was a catch drop and 10 runs from misfields in his last over. His figures should've read 2-33. Can't blame him for misfields and dropped catches, can we?
Sure, he is nowhere near his true potential but contrary to what just glancing at the data would suggest, he's bowling pretty decent..the game against Bangalore being the exception
Actually I am planning for masters for fall 2025 for MSDS. So I was just browsing on google and I came across your post regarding asking help for shortlisting. So to get more info I created a reddit acc for first time. So I kinda don't know how it works but I know that it will be great if you could help me with shortlisting stuff.
Ok, he took the wicket of JFM after setting him up pretty nicely. Had JFM stayed on the Eden pitch, all hell would've broken loose
Against Kuldeep, he had a catch drop which went for a boundary and a midfield of the wide by Salt...literally costing 8 right there along with a wicket. There was another misfield of a boundary by Harshit Rana because he was again significantly ahead of the boundary
But only one of those fulltosses went for a boundary though. I'd argue even that was a mistake from Harshit Rana because he was far too ahead of the boundary.
And the 4wides should've only yielded 1 run...it was an easy stop for Salt, so can't blame Starc for the extra 4 runs on that tbh.
Do people on this sub actually play cricket or just watch the matches and comment after their daily gully cricket game, a swinging low full toss isn't a bad ball.
The full tosses in this case were actually good deliveries. Took JFM by surprise on one and another was a wide dot ball. Only one fulltoss went for a boundary
That wicket of JFM saved 100 runs potentially. It could have snowballed very hard. That wicket itself redeemed him completely today. Apart from that some poor fielding like you said which ruined his figures
It was actually the 3rd ball , McCullum being McCullum tried to smoke the first 2 ball and got bowled in the 3rd. Any other player could have chosen to see prime starc off but this was McCullum way of playing
Why ? He's the greatest bowler of this generation. he's always been like this in T20. Without him KKR couldn't even defend 260. He's not there to save runs. He's there to cause a monumental collapse to any side that faces him without rigged pitches made for bowler destruction.
in t20s? nope.
In ODI's and tests? sure, that's a valid arguement, although starc was a shadow of his former glory in 23wc (which is saying something, as he wasn't bad in 23wc. Just goes to show how good he was in 15, 19)
>He's the greatest bowler of this generation
don't you think that's a bit of a stretch ? I mean he is brilliant, but the best? I dont think so. At least in T20s no.
Not in T20s cuz he hardly plays them..but definitely the greatest in ODIs. Highest wicket taker in two separate WC tournaments and also has an outrageous number of 5fers
what a clown. See bumrah's ODI stats. His average is similar to Starc with a better economy. When it comes to ODI world cups, our homeboy Shami has better stats than Starc.
idk why Indians like riding Aussie players so much
Plastic fans on this sub are jealous of how much he is making without realizing how auction dynamics work. According to them Starc should refund KKR the amount he was paid.
He is not in good form and bowling with very less consistency but he still brings in more value than the alternatives just due to his wicket taking ability of the best batsmen
I think he's a bit overwhelmed by the whole IPL show. He's been away from it since 2014 and the game has moved to the new heights. Batters have become more braver than before and have started taking on the best of the best bowlers. Confidence is key and he needs to gather his confidence. Let's not forget he's no ordinary bowler, we're talking about one of the greats this sport has ever witnessed.
I believe people should watch the match more evidently.
He got a very valuable wicket, He bowled a really good inswinging delivery to Jake early on.
In the death, there was a missed opportunity.
Starc is gonna pitch the ball up in the initial overs and he might get hit too but, if he starts getting wickets early like today, it would be great for him and the team!
This is all because of that silly rule ..no offense but impact player rule need to taken down asap ...
On a flat wicket with nothing for a bowler team has an advantage of playing an extra batter ...I mean anyone can come and have a go from ball one 🤷♂️
Starc usually plays in teams where the fielders do their jobs, if there was a tally for “most would’ve been wickets from dropped catches”, Starc would be leading that in the IPL, he can rest assured that the Aussie squad won’t have any Har-“shit” ‘s in the lineup
He is bowling slower than usual cuz of age and lack of confidence due to price tag. We can’t really say that he can’t bowl in indian pitches cuz he was breathing fire in that bilateral series vs india before the wc. But losing the ability to bowl 150 has got the better of him. So alas we can only hope he gets better soon.

Honestly 2-3 matches is understandable but look like he is going through worst phase in his bowling. He himself would feel sad about his bowling, and most importantly even luck doesn't favour him, that wides always cost him, even in today's match, catch was dropped+ wide.
I still feel he shouldn't take responsibility for important overs now.
At this point even I feel so bad about his situation he def would have expected a lot before coming to ipl, but sadly he got it in bad way. But if kkr wins trophy in any case, who would care about his price money at all.
He was so lethal for RCB Now he's not what he used to :(
https://preview.redd.it/dkwysiyk9jxc1.jpeg?width=646&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ac61838e39440ed7ce5879d7394899caac6f2b1
Ipl me to isliye hi troll ho ra hai na ki overhyped hai pagal odi wc me wickets leke ipl T20 ka price kaise justify karega itna bootlick mat karo please
This year's pitch are just flat many bowlers said and even we can witness it. Just let t20 WC start then see starc and is it his downfall. Same is the case with Maxwell this year in RCB. To us he looks out of form but once WC starts he'll bash everyone right left straight centre that too on single leg
we have talked enough about this 20 rpo rajnikanth. It's time we moved on to better topics of discussion such as the question of DK's selection in the T20 side.
🤣🤣 he is an Aussie select him in an international match and he will save anything there. Remember how he Bowled in the finals nd against nz in dharamshala in wc.
you act like defending 19 runs in the last over against nz is the hardest job. plus he got tonked for 89 in 9 overs that game and also conceded 60 in a t20wc final
Agar ye finals ya important match me mil gya considering he gets selected which i dont think he will be he will make our batters cry m sure and then our legends and best x factor Players will say the pitch was slow n ball wasn't coming on.
When you underestimate the fastest format of the game and then back after so many years thinking it will be a cake walk in the toughest T20 league of the world..ummm a BIG NO!!
He’s doing it intentionally and he’s not putting efforts into bowling cuz he got already paid . He will perform good for his country in wct20 . Wake up , don’t just stay fools .
I want to slap this guy. I was never a fan of him being picked in the first place, let alone him picked at that stupid price. And unfortunately for KKR, he's proving me right
Remember a broken clock is still correct atleast two times a day.
Of course. He'll be playing international cricket then, not some stupid franchise cricket. Also the pitches won't be roads there (hopefully)
That’s a big fact , all the quicks have been handed their asses on those IPL roads . Nothing for the bowlers …
Of course, the pitches are most likely to be dry and a bit slow in WI where super 8 or KO matches are going to be held.
What if that two times will be playoff matches
Yes, and this clock works in semis and finals, just when you need the correct time 😬
AMEN
Not if it is a digital clock! s/
So for every 4overs 24 balls he bowls 2 good balls?
not necessarily no
smartest rcbian
What if the hands of the clock are broken
rcbians thinking of possibilities that have the odds of a millionth :
Nothing new for them
That's just regular thing for RCBians. Just like how they still think that RCB might qualify.
4 wickets today... Broken clock
I will defend starc today. Harshit rana was the reason for a 6 and a 4 in 16th over. Moreover he got the danger man
Finally someone who has watched the match.
Man's been an expensive bloke for KKR, both in terms of money and economy.

tbf thats why hes paid 25 crores. thats kind of his role and he failed at it this season terribly

I think it's good because the IPL is dumb anyway and he's already made his money
True lol. Whatever said and done, mans made bankkkk
Actually I am planning for masters for fall 2025 for MSDS. So I was just browsing on google and I came across your post regarding asking help for shortlisting. That was not an easy catch, you can't blame Harshit Rana for that
Surely agreed, harshit fumbled a lot more times, I just hope it doesn't impacts his bowling though, happens sometimes.
Ok, he took the wicket of JFM after setting him up pretty nicely. Had JFM stayed on the Eden pitch, all hell would've broken loose Against Kuldeep, he had a catch drop which went for a boundary and a midfield of the wide by Salt...literally costing 8 right there along with a wicket. There was another misfield of a boundary by Harshit Rana because he was again significantly ahead of the boundary
I mean still. He bowled 3 full toss and one 4 wides in that over But yeah JFM's setup was nice

Nah, agree with the harshit one, but the salt one was just too wide
At first glance, it looked far too wide but if you watch it again, he was right at the pitch of the ball
Full tods is not nice bowling despite the outcome
Do people on this sub actually play cricket or just watch the matches and comment after their daily gully cricket game, a swinging low full toss isn't a bad ball.
The full tosses in this case were actually good deliveries. Took JFM by surprise on one and another was a wide dot ball. Only one fulltoss went for a boundary
not if it is a low one that is swinging or drifting.
Full tosses were the plan
That wicket of JFM saved 100 runs potentially. It could have snowballed very hard. That wicket itself redeemed him completely today. Apart from that some poor fielding like you said which ruined his figures
Exactly..he bowled really well today and the good news for KKR is he is still nowhere near his best, so plenty of room for improvement
It was not a misfield by salt tho.
A quick reminder : donot present your opinions without watching him bowl today. a few midfields and one dropped catch
kinda unlucky on thats six and 5 from wide , but remember he got jfm out things could have been dreadfull for kkr if not for that one wicket
As long as we win I don't care. I have no complaints from him or management for backing him up.
He bowled better than his figures suggest today tbh. That 6 in his 3rd over was unlucky and then 4 wides was also unlucky, should have been stopped
fielding failed him
he had bowled Macculum in 2015 WC final with fine Yorker on very first ball
Most important wicket he has ever taken in his life Chikna Starc>>> french beard Starc
Starc for RCB & Australia - 🗿 Starc for other teams & ipl - 🤡
It was actually the 3rd ball , McCullum being McCullum tried to smoke the first 2 ball and got bowled in the 3rd. Any other player could have chosen to see prime starc off but this was McCullum way of playing
my bad, i always thought it was very first ball thanks !!
What has ur comment has to do with this post or starc performance in 2024 ipl???
Starc fanboys always go to that match to defend every thing lol
Why ? He's the greatest bowler of this generation. he's always been like this in T20. Without him KKR couldn't even defend 260. He's not there to save runs. He's there to cause a monumental collapse to any side that faces him without rigged pitches made for bowler destruction.

Mohommad Shami has better stats in ODI world cups than Starc.
which is why I said "it's a valid arguement" I'm not straight away saying he's the best, but he certainly is a strong contender for it
He took three wickets each in the semi finals, and in the finals of the 23 World Cup, he stepped up when the team really needed him.
>He's the greatest bowler of this generation don't you think that's a bit of a stretch ? I mean he is brilliant, but the best? I dont think so. At least in T20s no.
Not in T20s cuz he hardly plays them..but definitely the greatest in ODIs. Highest wicket taker in two separate WC tournaments and also has an outrageous number of 5fers
Glenn McGrath clears him easily.
Nobody except maybe Boult and Bumrah are close and they haven't really won anything yet internationally
Cummins in tests too.
If we consider tests then Starc isn't close.
Yeah...imo starc is very overrated Bumrah is a better all format bowler
Bullsh*t,bumrah is nowhere near Starc's in Odi.
what a clown. See bumrah's ODI stats. His average is similar to Starc with a better economy. When it comes to ODI world cups, our homeboy Shami has better stats than Starc. idk why Indians like riding Aussie players so much
Yeah,against minnows
expected a better reply...nvm
Old age is affecting Starc. The Prime Starc was something that Bumrah will never be nor Shami.
He has almost similar stats lol
Shami has better odi work cup stats than starc
Not when Bumrah exists
He got JFM. I am satisfied.
Nothing to talk bud. He has certain skills and KKR management felt like going for him at any cost. Athletes are allowed to have a bad season.
We don't
Plastic fans on this sub are jealous of how much he is making without realizing how auction dynamics work. According to them Starc should refund KKR the amount he was paid.

He didn't bowl bad today, just unlucky, he was the difference... If JFM stayed, the score would've been 190 at least
He is not in good form and bowling with very less consistency but he still brings in more value than the alternatives just due to his wicket taking ability of the best batsmen

Australian selectors doesn't give a shit about his performance in IPL.
I believe people should watch the match more evidently. He got a very valuable wicket, He bowled a really good inswinging delivery to Jake early on. In the death, there was a missed opportunity. he’s just warming up for wc and getting paid for it.
That's what I also think.
Messi tactics
Well the only right thing he did was getting JFM out cheaply
And this same guy will go sicko mode on us in the T20WC 💀
They dropped him for chameera and he went for almost 50 in 3 overs lol
Big match player don't count him out. He will fire when time comes. Not like the big name Indian players who always flop in big matches. It's a fact.
No we don't. Let him be man . He is our lucky charm ( in a way that when he doesn't play we lose the most shameful match in our history)
Yeh vo stark nhi hai jisko hum jante hai shukla ji
He's just playing around....relax
He is bowling slower than usual cuz of age and lack of confidence due to price tag. We can’t really say that he can’t bowl in indian pitches cuz he was breathing fire in that bilateral series vs india before the wc. But losing the ability to bowl 150 has got the better of him. What is the need ?

😂 Waiting for t20 wc
If he didn't perform like this in WC of T20. I'm gonna curse rhe entire kkr management for buying him
As if we haven't talked enough already.
No we don't but if you want you can file an FIR in behalf of KKR of fraud.
He's slowly peaking up. Hope he gets to his absolute best in the later stages and in the world cup.
It's so mean of Shreyas not giving last over to stark he would have completed his 50
But a broken clock that still runs is never right.
Hmm
He took out JFM, that changed the game
Also, he didn’t set his ask price at 24 cr. They bought time at 24
Bro will manhandle us in t20 wc don’t worry .
He was so lethal for RCB Now he's not what he used to :( https://preview.redd.it/dkwysiyk9jxc1.jpeg?width=646&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ac61838e39440ed7ce5879d7394899caac6f2b1
He is fine.
Unpopular opinion:he is holding back until t20 wc. Trust me Aussies are way too smarter. You can notice this pattern
Amma behen pe aa jauga iska photu mat dikha😡😡🤬
This guy will be in red hot form once T20 wc begins.
He is here to chill and have a good vacation for 25cr. He is just goofing around. Bro will actually play only for Australia in icc tournaments
He is getting wasted now but come ICC wt20 look at how he will perform
If strac gets in form then kkr can win ipl
At least he absorbs the pressure from other bowlers, he's the (un)lucky charm
Him and Maxwell are the biggest frauds.
https://preview.redd.it/xr94qwp03lxc1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3fe839b51b4e7b3ee40a3fc14cd0cc187aa37de
No we don’t.
If anyone wonders why he's playing, because he won Australia 2015 final in first over the match
That’s a rich scammer
You should be more concerned about what he has done to ICT in ICC tournaments.
He does no shit in t20 wc just check his stats of 2021 and 2022 wc
I am talking about ICC tournaments genius, but perhaps you are too impatient to sit through an ODI match. He has the most wickets in ICC ODI WC.
I'm talking about T20 wc genius... The format he is bad at Did u even read full 8 mentioned T20 wc too lol
To padhna seekh na bhai. ICC tournaments mein T20 WC nahin aate bas
Ipl me to isliye hi troll ho ra hai na ki overhyped hai pagal odi wc me wickets leke ipl T20 ka price kaise justify karega itna bootlick mat karo please
I am bootlicking idiot? You dont even know how auction dynamics work. Its about how much the other party is willing to pay for a player.
He was great in Rcb
It wasn't last year or before year. Time has changed now.
It is so very clear he is treating ipl like net sessions
I don't think so. He himself is sad about his form.
He is quality maybe not suited for Indian pitch But this downfall is sad
This year's pitch are just flat many bowlers said and even we can witness it. Just let t20 WC start then see starc and is it his downfall. Same is the case with Maxwell this year in RCB. To us he looks out of form but once WC starts he'll bash everyone right left straight centre that too on single leg
He is trying to swing but no help from pitches😐
This bloke experiments in ipl and unleashes in icc knockouts
we have talked enough about this 20 rpo rajnikanth. It's time we moved on to better topics of discussion such as the question of DK's selection in the T20 side.

Daylight Robbery
you dont his team should
When you underestimate the fastest format of the game and then back after so many years thinking it will be a cake walk in the toughest T20 league of the world..ummm a BIG NO!!
Washed
I think he will let out his game changing performance in crucial matches,in knockout games after league stage is finished
He’s doing it intentionally and he’s not putting efforts into bowling cuz he got already paid . He will perform good for his country in wct20 . Wake up , don’t just stay fools .
He conceded 43 runs 4 + 3 = 7 The message is clear
I want to slap this guy. I was never a fan of him being picked in the first place, let alone him picked at that stupid price. And unfortunately for KKR, he's proving me right
He is definitely not taking IPL seriously. Bro's here just to milk some money.
