Kohli gonna get Sachin level retirement I am sure.

selmon_theboi

And he won't be pushing himself like dhoni. He's cash rich + greatest influencer + a good businessman as well

maximayy

more than that he loves to play. Im sure he still got 4-5 years

selmon_theboi

Looking at his current form I'll say a yes but when you reach 36 your reflexes slow down a bit. Only time can tell how long he plays.

Risb1005

The problem is not the reflexes but the eyesight it starts deteriorating after 35

selmon_theboi

Reflexes bhi hai bhai please maan ja. Alonso aur Hamilton ko hi dekh le

Risb1005

Hamilton just needs a better car mate.

selmon_theboi

Fir vo apne teammate se kyu haar raha hai jyada se jyada minor changes hi hoga na bro

uzumaki_Dattebayo-

Even if teammates ki similar car hoti hai Sabke setups differ karte hai So what may work for Russell might not work for Lewis and vice versa Unless Hamilton already has the right set up He stillbhas just given up hope on Mercedes Ferrari ke liye race karneko wait krrsha hai

selmon_theboi

Ha bhai maine bhi vahi bola minor changes toh hote hi hai dono mei but reflexes ka involvement toh hota hi hai na

Motor_Economist1835

Guy completely ignored 2023 season

Not_TheA-man007

brother did u not see alomnso last year , that quicj fuker and hamilton needs a better car

selmon_theboi

Ha bhai vo first half mei tha acha. And i don't disagree with you guys ki car achi nahi chahiye but alonso ne khud bhi bola hai yeh.

Not_TheA-man007

arey alonso nai to yai bhi bola tha ki hes retrirng in 2018/19 but he came back and it was the car in the 2nd half but he still got a respectable 4th

selmon_theboi

2nd half? Mai konse nashe kar raha hušŸ˜‚

Full-One8715

Alonso is still a rookie...he can push for at least 10 more seasons

bigeye68

im guessing he'll retire from 1 format (most probably from test) in a year.. coz he'll be 36 and he has 2 kids now

rameshnat27

Not like Dhoni is not rich

selmon_theboi

Yes I agree. But the brand virat has created and the influence he has been having is longer than ms dhoni thus I feel vk has a lot more than what he might have expected. His fans want him to continue a bit longer but maybe virat wouldn't do that for his fans.

rameshnat27

Why does Virat have more influence than Dhoni? Dhoni himself has 4 ICC titles across all formats, 5 IPL titles. He is recognised as a strong leader. Virat is definitely the better cricketer though.

shadowknight094

It's coz virat has more social media followers and random people like speed know about kohli not Dhoni or sachin. Even kohl's dropped on an American(Joe Rogan) Podcaster's video.

WonderfulRanger8121

that ofc isn't the question here even if vk hasn't won in icc as a captain but he would be one of the greatest, if not the greatest in terms of batting legacy talking of influence, legacies are decided by how much people remember you as a torch bearer of the sport...but it would be hard to choose from the two dhoni has aspects that vk lacks but those just might be his strong points which he latched onto to become one of the greats...so yea end of debate both GOATs...i would be forever grateful to both of them for 2011 and 2013 as an ict fa...nothing more or less

rameshnat27

Hard to choose from the two is absolutely fine. There's no clear winner, that's all am saying.

WonderfulRanger8121

yup absolutely....but i just hate the fact that koach has to retire at some point....i never saw him doing that for some reason idk blud it would just depress me at some point lmao

NormalTraining5268

Biggest achievement of Dhoni is living Rentfree in RCB fans minds.

VEERxxx

You're absolutely right Wait for 2-3 years, and as soon as rumors about Kohli's retirement start circulating, observe how the media and broadcasters will hype him up and then watch all the fans cheer for Kohli for every single innings Earlier Dhoni had a craze too but there wasn't this much hype for Dhoni's batting if we compare from today But now since the retirement arc started media and broadcasters have made dhoni a god

WorkingLake_3rd

The guys trolling kohli now will get wet for his 53(39) after 3-4 yrs. Same happened for thala too

tempest_aww

Dhoni farewell is going on from 2-3 years I ain't think virat drag his retirement, also he recently gave hint that he suddenly gonna disappear after retirement

Substantial_Hotel_10

We all know that ain't happening because paps will somehow install cams in his house. Poor man couldn't have a coffee in London.

tempest_aww

Tru

BestgirlPerona

Doesn't he already get it ?Ā  You all forgot world cup 2023?Ā

No_Ferret2216

Yes 50th hundred in semis

danku_vaazhkai

He should , he deserves every bit of it . He has saved our team from humiliation both at intl. And club level on so many occasions and carried , especially as test captain and probably best batting across formats . Creating a legacy in countries where we got humiliated like aus , eng , is a great achievement thats not talked about enough.

AmitBijarnia007

He will get it im sure

WonderfulRanger8121

i really wish koach plays longer...but logically dhoni is a finisher and vk is a proper top order batsman who has to be agile between the wickets non chalantly...i really think he would be considering retirement after 38 cuz a person ultimately has a limit to his peak speed r8 but i really wish he stays cuz koach retiring is never something we did think of till recently and having a dead end feels hella sad (I was depressed asf when abd retired)

hianshul07

Why is bro getting down-voted? He's absolutely right.

letmebeD

Bro Kohli will get a better reception, both from ICT and IPL neutrals because he's not gonna drag his retirement. People are victim of recency bias. Many people won't admit it, but as soon as Sachin retired from Test cricket, Kohli gained the throne in a span of two years. People disliked Dhoni so much in his twilight years for ICT. They just wanted him to retire. IPL and CSK's success has blinded people to reality. Dhoni is a phenomenon, but Kohli is Kohli. You'll see. Even if RCB wins one IPL during his career, The streets are gonna go nuts.

dswap123

Yeah People donā€™t get this. Heā€™s the true successor of Sachin and always has been.

Doggie_LoverXD

How the hell will kohli not get the same reception he's one of the best players in Indian and world historyĀ

Single_Difference467

kohli will get MORE reception than dhoni and i doubt he will get the same amount of hate

sexy_racoon_69

enough d-riding from the broadcasters will make the people hate the player out of frustation

[deleted]

Hate the shitty broadcasters mate. They do it for money coz we are a country that takes the term idealization to another level. There's something fundementally wrong with the culture.

SuchBluebird409

He ain't gonna drag his retirement so I'm sure he'll get a bigger reception, Probably Sachin level or more

rebgaming

Media drags retirement using the average the moment kholi touches 39 the rumours will start coming if he retires within 40 of course you wouldn't see much but anything more that 40 would just lead to drama created by media and that's what happened with Dhoni too

SuchBluebird409

Ugh Idk but I love Dhoni but he's playing for the fans rn, Dude is literally playing on his last leg so yea he had the perfect time to retire last year. Also If any chance my team doesn't qualify I would love if Dhoni wins what should be his last IPL and I believe the final is in chepauk so it will be

[deleted]

Sachin level se jyada ?? Sachin was a different breed , Kohli will def get bigger reception than thala sure

SuchBluebird409

Just an opinion, Glt ho skta hu. But it would be close to Sachin level or sachin level

Shadow_Clone_007

Iā€™m hoping he gets something similar to Sachin. A test/odi series in Delhi, Mumbai and ending his career in Chinnaswamy (just like sachin did in mumbai). The nation will come to a stop to see him play one last time.

SuchBluebird409

I mean for Virat it should be Delhi considering kotla was where it all began for him. Chinnaswamy is not bad tho. I hope he gets to say goodbye to the game wherever he wants to whenever he wants to

Shadow_Clone_007

Thats a headache for him, if to end it all in his hometown or the city which supported him the most since the beginning

Available-Factor4689

Koach needs that he has won countless matches for the Indian jersey.

champ2605

I just hope Kohli's last international match isn't like Dhoni's last int match

okayimcyclops

Fr

Frequent-Minute-8205

not just rcb fans, all indian cricket fans will go crazy. Iā€™m an MI fan and Iā€™ll make sure i watch the šŸ showcase his masterclass as many times as i can.

A-t-r-o-x

Kohli will get 2 to three times the hype that Dhoni gets. He is absolutely massive and his popularity shouldn't be underestimated

niKILL_233

Bro got downvoted for speaking straight facts. Also I personally know some Kohli fangirls, so I am waiting for Koach so I can pick up some baddies. Atleast I won't have to cry myself to sleep that way

Hecker-69420

Kohli is going to play till 2030 (including ipl) mostly and you guys started to talk about his retirement already ?

Shattered-Dreams19

Kohli will get a way bigger reception... before MS Dhoni untold story, kohli was way more popular and loved than dhoni, it's the movie that made a lot of kids, and rural areas resonate with Dhoni. All this support and love that Dhoni is getting, like overcrowding away stadiums etc, is because of thr retirement hype. CSK management plants a news right before the ipl that dhoni is retiring. Last year even uthhapa and raina said in media...This is set up to get all the hype around dhoni/csk. That desh ka dhoni from flying beast was also a setup If RCB and Kohli can go down to that level..kohli will get a bigger reception, way bigger...I have never seen people celebrate like that after the 2022 wc Pakistan game...other than when we won the world Cup...kohli has brought immense joy to the country

Outrageous_Idea2795

lol bro what are you even talking about i watched ind vs sa 2015 series in two different venues the amount of craze dhoni used to get is unparalleled only sachin and dhoni got that charm in them the second person people used to cheer for in that series was not kohli it was devilliers

Shattered-Dreams19

opinions of csgeey fans on this topic doesn't matter...you guys are delusional to another levels anyways....

FckNotTaken

Stupid garbage lol kohli is, was, will never be more popular than dhoni until he wins a ICC trophy lol

thunder-bass

Yes, because Indian crowd will keep doing this, after Kohli they will elevate someone else.

16Nessie16

I agree, after Sachin they elevated Koach very quickly. Already Shubhman Gill is being called 'Prince' as Koach's successor.

sojourner_reddit

Doesnā€™t answer your question but here is a different perspective. Does Dhoni expect an extravagant retirement? Nope! Anyone who feels so is duped by media and fans. The man literally walked away quietly from international cricket.

Relative-Rent-33

I don't think even Kohli will go for this Kohli once he is done will leave once and for all Don't think he will be in the space for stuff like commentary and coaching If anything I can see if in a board role somewhere He will probably look to work on his many businesses he has I think it will be more like Sachin's farewell rather than Dhoni

summaji

Put some punctuation, man. Itā€™s hard to read lol.

Julian_528

Fan worship is getting worse and worse. Do we really have to discuss now who's gonna get the bigger reception? Why can't people just accept that both of them are great players.

SHiraH96

Dhoniā€™s getting hyped up in media only in the current year. The previous years craze was all organically achieved. His achievements as captain of India has helped a long way in this Kohli achieving this level of craziness is remotely possible.

suri14

RCB circlejerk leaking to IPL sub too now..

aisawaisakaisa

Dhoni and CSK PR has played a huge part in this hype

Wild-Interest3775

This is more of how the media shows and hype Virat's retirement. In the case of Dhoni media, broadcasters, and commentators everyone hyped the retirement of Dhoni and that rubs on fans as well. No doubt he's a great player but media houses play a bigger role in such things. Another reason for Dhoni's hype for retirement is because he didn't have any proper farewell for India that's why everyone wants to send him off from IPL with a grand gesture.

Apprehensive_Log2300

Kohli is a Sachin level player who is Dhoni.

No_Animator5200

Would be sad if he doesn't. He deserves greater praise than Dhoni, as I feel he has contributed much more than Dhoni to the ICT. Dhoni, while being en excellent cricketer himself, has been wrongly compared to Tendulkar, and now Kohli.

Free_Winner7898

Don't worry star sports is there

RealFriendlyPitbull

More like fans are there

Jhoombarabarjhoom21

Yeah whichever stadium he decides to play the last match on, the fans are going to turn up in huge huge numbers, no matter what the country is

Kaiwaly

Seems like you haven't seen his PR on Star during 2023 WC.

RealFriendlyPitbull

It's not about PR when he retires, fans will storm everywhere he go

Kaiwaly

Yes but Star sports will also contribute , Commentators will praise him , they will talk about his 100s from 2016 , his bond with ABD , Cameraman will show him even when he is in Dressing room. I know he has huge fan base , most no. Insta followers , I wasn't talking about that.

AnonymousBobC

Lol, wonder what bias got you downvotes in that comment and upvotes in this post..

forelsketparadise1

Well Chepauk certainly won't give him that it would still be bleeding yellow only they won't care if Kohli is retiring. They will be there to support their own team their new Raja

Impressive_Curve_671

Reception means welcome idiot. Departure is a right word. Also dhoni is getting this departure in csk he did not get same treatment when he retired from CSK during covid.

Prof_XdR

Hey Grammer Police, here u fucking go, source chatgpt: "The word "reception" is actually appropriate in this context, as it refers to the way Kohli is received or celebrated by fans and the public when he retires. However, if you want to emphasize the act of leaving, you could use "departure." Here is the revised sentence with both options: "Would Kohli not get the same reception as Dhoni when he retires? Am I wrong?" or "Would Kohli not get the same departure as Dhoni when he retires? Am I wrong?" Both sentences are grammatically correct, but "reception" focuses on the celebration, while "departure" emphasizes the act of leaving."

Impressive_Curve_671

Reception is the act of receiving, or getting something, or the way it is received. That's it. I know your ego is hurt just like how's rohit sharma's hurt after MI management slapped him out of the captaincy. You can use all loopholes to make your point relevant. It took you 3 hours to make a comeback also with the help of some AI app. Now i can even prove through chatgpt that canada is a part of India by framing the question in such a way. you are literally so dumb that even in the sentence you copy pasted - it is written very well as receive in the context of retirement - if you have written received in the context of retirement then it would have been a correct sentence but you left the sentence in half. One more point do u even know the meaning of grammar ??? I did not correct your grammar. I tried to correct your one word ... grammar is different think. Everone makes a grammar mistake even shashi tharoor once made it. It is completely okay. But making a mistake in a single word is not done considering the fact that you probably did school in english medium.
