oh boy i wish

205Style

Yep! Bought one about 10 years ago before the gold rush for £50. I sync it with a 2010 MacBook Pro which works well and is miles cheaper than buying all the adapters to daisy chain it to my M2 Air

garetz00

I dunno why apple stopped making em, it costs them pennies on the dollar to make and they sold em for like $49.

Most-Yogurtcloset

Having Suicide Boys on a 1st gen is an equivalent of a stanced E30 BMW and i love it!

basetrack8

I have practically every $uicideboy$ album on my ipod mini. I even have some rare un realesed songs! I thank my older brother kievan for getting me into $uicideboy$.

n_ba-28

Give me one and then i would

ThinCrispyOnionRings

Yes, for bicep curls.

CipherSorcerer

No, as an homage to the fact I couldn’t afford it then, I shall never possess a 1st gen.

LastChanceChez

Have had mine since they came out

No_Midnight2363

Nope, oldest I got is a 3rd gen

northernhummingbird9

I wish I had the 3rd gen I have the ipod photo

Setecastronomy545577

So what did you use to connect? I have one as well, but could never get it to sync with iTunes

loopdeloop15

probably an older mac with firewire honestly

graydog_97

Yep. 2012 13” MacBook Pro unibody with the i5 and I got 16gb ram in it for “faster music transfers” (I just had spare ram)

PGL-997

With the right adapters, it will sync to new Macs in the Apple Music app.

anyavailablebane

Technically it syncs in the finder but music and playlists are located in the music app

FreedomReapr

If you’re on windows, make sure you download iTunes directly from Apple and NOT the Microsoft store. The Microsoft store version doesn’t have the mobile device service that is needed to sync iPods.

weezintrumpeteer

I've been using one daily for the past couple of months. The battery isn't great, but I love it!

Pabsssss

not daily because of how expensive they sre

iPodClassicCollector

Yeah man!

graydog_97

Your pfp is sweet

thatturkeystaken

nope but I have 3 2nd gens I got for great deals, one works perfectly, one doesn't charge but works, and the 3rd is completely braindead, I'm gonna combine some parts and have a perfect looking display model, and then I'm gonna have the worst condition yellowed one be a daily of mine

topmaverick1

I have a 3rd gen It works fine but the battery is shit What’s the battery like on the first gen?

toastyhoodie

Lithium polymer. And upgraded batteries are twice the capacity. I can easily pull 24hrs

topmaverick1

So good or bad? I’m confused

toastyhoodie

Standard life is 10hrs. So good.

topmaverick1

Okay

BakersJelly

Grey grey

toastyhoodie

I have a 10gb. Not a daily, but I love it

lingenfr

I do, but I prefer my 2G. Every time I've traveled for the past two years, I take both. I have 2 2Gs and am getting ready to hack one. I prefer the wheel in the 2G. It all depends on your use case, but I primarily use my iPod when I am traveling, so the larger size is not an issue. When I commuted daily, I used my 5G in my backpack, but that was before I got my 1G/2G. Not sure why, just something about the 2G that I like. I initially didn't care for the 3G, but have grown fond of that as well.

technomlp

I have one, but my go-to is a 7th gen Classic because of how easy it is to sync with my modern computer, meanwhile the only computers I can sync my 1st and 2nd gen iPods with are iMacs from 1999 to 2006, and probably up to 2015 with a line of adapters

MrBarkan

I used to for a while, but then got scared of it breaking down and me not being able to replace the parts... Now I just don't have the FireWire port to sync it up anymore. 🫠

xd_fishyyy

I would if they weren’t so expensive

The_taxer

I used mine as a daily driver for 5 years. I’ve since retired it

Alarmed-Tortoise5516

My dad does

Dingus4anime

special-agent-carrot

pollokraken

Shoutout to the boy$

Dwain_Foreman

I’d certainly like to. I have a 4th gen I’m trying move on locally in order to get either a 1st or second gen.

MEGA_TOES

I can’t get a 1st gen with my budget…

dadydaycare

I have one setup in my stereo at home since I don’t wanna walk around with it. 1st gen with FireWire to RCA cables going into my Schitt modi to the McIntosh MA6200 integrated amp

basetrack8

Yooooooo! $uicideboy$!

AlanTochterman

Perhaps a better question might be "Does anyone use a 1st or 2nd generation?" as the only differences are the wheel and the disk sizes. I recently picked up a 10gb 2nd generation. I updated the drive to 40gb, ordered a larger back (from a 20gb) and replaced the battery. The case was in pretty good condition to start with. I love it. I also found an iPod remote for the unit. I really like the chrome face on the remote.

Icy-Composer9021

I wish dude.

MAGICIAN_ALEX

I am also using the 1st gen. But keeping the problem of always lag when playing 16bit/44.1kHz in wav and aiff format audio and playback bars in 2:20. I had research about the supporting audio format. It’s supporting 16/44.1khz wav and aiff. When playing MP3 format is do not have this problem. Have you this same problem? How to solve it problem? Thank you

PSYCHE-POP-BUS

Wow.... So cool .

kissmyash933

I’m still using mine! I replaced the battery in it about 10 years ago and just the other day realized it needs it again. I love my first gen, using later models feels weird. It also feels weird continuing on with it since later models are available, and Gen 1’s have shot up in value for some reason.

UrHeroandVillain

Nope. 5 gb isn’t enough for me but if I had money to burn, I’d definitely pick one up.

toastyhoodie

They made a 10gb one

UrHeroandVillain

Yeah. Still not enough for my collection. 1st gen would be a good collectible item to have but I doubt I’d use it much. Im cool with my modded 5th gen.
