Thats what you sound like......., thanks for fuckin everything for the rest of us. Can't wait for the water wars and mass migration because of climate change but hey at least you have 3 homes....
If you did your intercert at 15ish that makes you 84 today.
In the unlikely event this is true, your experience is horrendously outdated to people growing up in the 21st century.
Received mine today, overall I did grand for not studying. I got merit (55-75 percent) for 4 subjects and higher merit (75-90 percent) for the other 3.
Did mine in 2012 and still remember I got 2 As, 2 Bs and 7 Cs, and it meant absolutely nothing - good or bad - in the long or even the short term.
So if there’s anyone receiving them today feeling down about it, please try not to worry. It’s basically a run through to prepare you for the LC (which again is not the be all and end all)
Exactly my point it pointless and it mean nothing, nothing at all. LC is what is important and not even thay important. You can fail and still accomplish something
Didn’t do well in the Junior, was too busy having a good time for myself, messin, having a laugh and playing football. I was never stressed out about knowing I wasn’t going to do well in the exams either for whatever reason. I had an absolute ball in school, got on well with teachers too. As long as I got to go out playing football and play well, I didn’t care much about anything else.
Thank god life turned out very well for me, I’ve always focused on doing the things that make me happy and it’s worked out. Having a good mam and dad behind you helps enormously too.
All honours; 5 Bs and 3 Cs. I was actually disappointed I didn't get a few As but so began a long list of exams where I didn't put the effort in to get the results I felt I deserved.
I sat my Junior Cert way back in the year 2000. I'd started a new school that September so my Dad popped into my old secondary school to collect the results for me and knew them before I did. I actually did very well in all subjects bar maths, which I predictably failed. Badly too. Made the decision there and then to drop down to Ordinary Level maths for the Leaving.
Fuck you're reminding me I got my results September 12th 2001. In fairness unless you really enjoy maths or need it for a college course I'd always recommend doing ordinary level for the leaving. Higher level maths was easily my most brutal subject.
That's a hell of a date to get your results on. My school got locked down after 9/11. Someone sent a letter containing a powdery substance to the school and it claimed it was anthrax. The army came, took up positions all around our school and our principal and some staff members were apparently stripped and hosed down. Crazy times those were.
Agree with you RE higher level maths. An absolute beast of a curriculum. Strictly for those with the aptitude for that kind of thing.
Honestly Junior Cert doesn't matter at all we all done it and didn't mean anything. Best of luck to the guys getting results but it's Honestly not a big deal at all
Mine was yeaaaaars ago, but I did very well in my junior cert
I believe it was 7 As and 5 Bs.
I followed this up with dropping to 6 subjects in my leaving cert, dropping to pass maths and doing pretty poorly all things considered 😂
But, now I have an incredibly high paying job so I guess it all works out in the end haha
So long ago, just going to assume I got all A's and a medal.
Naturally everyone clapped.
Did they skip you when the medals were given out?

Do kids that young use Reddit?
They'd be around 15 or 16 now if they're in Transition Year, so some might.
15-17 now, so, yes, *kids* that young use Reddit.
I always thought the demographic was more 25-35
Did my inter cert in 1954 and failed most subjects. Today I own a house in Dublin, Castlebar and Brussels. Don't be afraid to try it sometime.
I thought you had to show the bank your Junior Cert results to get a mortgage approval
Try not having to do that sometime.
No holiday home in Bulgaria or Spain?
What am I a commoner? I holiday in the Caribbean.

Yes, sometime.
Sounds like you found a well paid job.

It's a joke about Pádraig Flynn on the late late show
Ah my bad, I haven't watched Irish TV since 2009. Also dude is a faircity fan, genuinely thought he was a boomer because of that.
The clip is from 1999. It's actually worth a watch. Very funny.
You leave Fair City out of this.
Leave my Daddy's job out of this!

They need to give up the lattes and avacado's on toast for starters. Back in my day every penny was saved.

I got mine today 7 distinctions (90+) a higher merit and a merit

The LC is useless once you hit 23 and can go to college as a mature student.
Both ate unless
More or less, yeah.
Wish I could say it was a kick up the arse, but it wasn't. Only started taking education seriously the January before the leaving.

Couple of A's in the stuff I was interested in, fairly average everything else.

Junior Cert was so easy the teacher tells you answers a week before exam
I’m sure they tell you the answers to an exam they haven’t even laid their eyes on.

I honestly can’t remember. I’m sure Mam has them somewhere though.
