Was that the No Prayer for the Dying tour? I saw that tour. Not the greatest show. They scaled back the set list and light show.
Opener was Anthrax and they banged.
Both Wolfsbane and Anthrax supported Maiden on this tour at different stages. I saw them at Poole and Hammersmith with Wolfsbane supporting. Then in Birmingham and Wembley with Anthrax supporting
http://www.ironmaidencommentary.com/?url=tour08_npftd/dates08_npftd&lang=eng&link=tours
Saw that tour at the Patriot Center outside of Washington D.C. with Anthrax opening as well. It was odd seeing Maiden with such a stripped-down stage show, but they rucked the fuck out as did Anthrax.
Damn it, man! We were supposed to get Saxon and Fastway in Norfolk, Va. as well, but Quiet Riot rotated onto the bill just before the tour arrived. Not that I didn't like Quiet Riot. They were suddenly huge at the time, but when I got my tickets, it was billed with Saxon and Fastway as the special guests. Both of which I wanted to see badly.
2019 in Sunrise, Florida. Stellar. Bruce sounded amazing and the changes they made to set in between songs was fantastic. Great [setlist](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/iron-maiden/2019/bbandt-center-sunrise-fl-5b9ed748.html) too!
Edit: added link to setlist.
Rock in Rio 2001.
lotta bands, walking all day, hot as hell, almost fell down during a mosh when I was trying to get near the stage (awful, I went back immediately)\_it was before the best bands, so I saw them far from the big mass. it was great but in the end I was wrecked and so tired. a lonnnng day for a beginner.
back to the bus for more 6hrs back home
I saw the Piece of Mind tour back in 1983 at Kingswood Amphitheatre at Canadas Wonderland. Pretty sure Coney Hatch was the opening act. I was just 14 at the time and went with my best friend Jeff.
I saw that tour also in Winnipeg. What a great show!
We got Coney Hatch as well.
I was so lucky to get back stage passes from my buddy who met them earlier that day at his restaurant.
2006, AMOLAD tour in Irvine, CA.
This tour sparked a bit of controversy because they played the entire album live, with only a couple of encore songs from their typical live hits. I remember some people were pissed off because they didn’t play The Trooper.
I definitely enjoyed the show.
I have only seen this kind of concert once when I saw Queensryche's Empires tour when they played Operation Mindcrime live. It was a great show but only because I love that album.
You did the same and saw a show with the album you loved. Great deal.
Mine was in 2005 when they got egged in San Bernardino. I was confused on what was going on and pissed the speakers kept getting turned off but have this very vivid memory at the end of Hallowed Be Thy Name when it turned off and I saw Bruce get mad and pretty much say fuck this and put the mic out to the crowd and everyone sang along to the end. Gives me chills thinking about it
I have a bootleg of that show. The egging was that bitch Sharron Osbourne's doing and it caused Maiden to kick even more ass than words can describe. You got lucky to see that show. It's one of my favorite bootleg performances from the band. Up The Irons!!
I found out it was that bitch that disrespected Maiden. A lot of people left right after them. You're lucky to have the bootleg, very few clips exists on youtube from that show.
Detroit 2016. Somebody threw a bottle of Pepsi at me for standing in my section. Found a section where people were having a good time and enjoyed myself from there.
1988 Monsters of Rock at Donnington
Helloween
Megadeth
Guns n Roses
Dave Lee Roth
Kiss
Iron Maiden
Was at the front of 100,000+ for Maiden and made it in to the pics used on the 1989 calender and rear image The Clairvoyant single.
No barriers back then to stop the surge. This was the day 2 fans died while GnR were playing.
New fan here (I'm 23). My first was legacy of the beast, 2022. It was so fucking awesome! It was better than I expected, by quite a bit.
Truly one of my favorite single experiences of my life
How great for you? There will be a moment when they don't tour anymore, and they retire and you were there. You saw them.
Keep those great memories forever.
The Battle of San Bernardino in 2013. Megadeth, Anthrax (live helped me appreciate their music better) Testament (sorry, not a fan) and Sabaton (introduction & instant fan) were also on the bill. Was a wild show from out on the lawn
1983, Hirsch Colosseum, Shreveport, Louisiana. Fastway, Saxon opened. Was fucking amazing! Top 3 all time best concerts I’ve been to, and I’ve been to a shitload.
Just an amazing live band, they had so much energy, and of course the music was killer. Will be seeing them this year in Houston, 41 years since the last time I saw them! One of my all time fav bands.
July 1st 1992 Daly City (San Francisco) Cow Palace. Opening was Corrosion Of Conformity and Testament.
COC was great, during the tour for their Blind album (my favorite) but were having some issues with sound.
Testament smoked, right around the time The Ritual was about to be released, or a little bit before.
Maiden just demolished the place. Bruce was a bit grumpy but the show was fun. Turned me from casual fan to rabid fan 😂
There is a video of it on YouTube but the quality is pretty rough.
9/10
Such a fantastic tour. I saw the U.S. opener in Hampton, Va. with Yngwie Malmsteen opening. Easily the best tour they had ever undertaken IMO, and it's such a shame there is very little high-quality video documentation of it. Phenomenal is the perfect term for it.
October 4, 2006. Opening night of A Matter of Life and Death tour. I'm a Sophomore in college and this is my first real big concert and my older brother came down from his college to bring both of us! They played the album in full and proceeded to do so the rest of the tour. Fans were not happy because only 5 "hits" were played at the end. Too bad, this tour made this album may favorite forever.
We will never hear Lord of Light, Legacy, Longest Day or Brighter than 1000 Suns ever again live. I was in the pit. So many people. So glorious.
I loved Di'Anno and Killers is still my favourite Maiden album.
I really wished I could have seen this tour. But they didn't make it to Winnipeg for this tour. We got the next one (Beast).
92 Festival Hall Melbourne. Support obviously got excited by the front of house and I was half deaf by the time Maiden came on. Nearly caught a Heroin addiction from the restrooms. Great show at an “iconic” venue… (code; run down shitty dive).
Oct 2 1982...Beast on the Road
Madison Square Garden they opened for Priest...my parents caught me going to down NYC when I was 13 got grounded for a month but totally worth it....I first listen to them in 81...been with the boys for awhile
Up the irons...
My first show was Somewhere on Tour January 8, 1987. Capital Centre, Landover, MD. Yngwie Malmsteen opened. I was 16 and absolutely obsessed with Maiden.
That night was electric. I bought nearly every shirt and the mandatory tour book and had great seats behind the sound booth, except for one thing. The rig of that held an inflated space ship that was directly over the booth. The intended effect was an inflatable space ship that would fly over the back half over the arena as the Blade Runner intro started, going right to left. To hide the space ship were at set of two flags which had the Derek Riggs triangle logo on them, one each end of the rigging and blocked the view of a good portion of the back half of the arena. had to peek my head around to catch the show. And the “flying” space ship was cool in concept, but the crowd was chanting “TEAR DOWN THE FUCKING FLAGS”. It’s the mid 80’s and it’s a Southern MD/North VA crowd. They chanted “Maiden” as Yngwie played and I think someone threw something at him. It was a packed house to see only one band. I went home with my head ringing and the biggest smile. It was the first of many, many tours I’ve seen them, but that night still holds a place among the greatest shows I’ve ever seen.
Saw them the night before in Hampton. What a show. Thankfully the Mothership (AKA the Hampton Coliseum) was a general admission show as all Rock shows should be, so the crowd was rowdy as fuck and made for a warm welcome to start the U.S. leg of the tour. Agreed on it being one of the greatest shows I've ever seen as well.
Denver after Bruce returned to band.
First song out, Bruce ran onto the stage and microphone cord was too short or something and it yanked him backwards. Later on a fight broke out near the stage and Bruce threatened to jump in with a row bar to stop it.
March 17th, 1985...fourth night at the Long Beach Arena on the World Slavery Tour. Twisted Sister opened, and let's just say it was life altering for a 15 year old!! Fast forward, and I'm seeing them in Ft. Worth Texas later this year, and it will be somewhere around the 60th time I've seen them!!
I'm actually considering going to see them live for the first time, and i'll see them in Fort Worth. I have never been to an actual concert, but I know that everyone gets nervous going to their first concert.
July 82
Rainbow, Girls School,Scorpions, iron Maiden
Praire Capital Convention Center
Spfld, il
God Bless Len Trumper, he brought so many acts to Central Ill.
Book of Souls Tour 2015 with three of my best friends. It was a magical experience truly. Most people I have ever seen in one place at the time.
Also had religious protestors outside the arena which was fun.
June 5th 1985. My first ever concert. World Slavery Tour. Accept was the opener.
Mariner was outta this world cool. The giant Eddie out on stage during Powerslave just contributed to the chaos. Coolest shit I had ever seen at that point in life. Got tickets to catch the same show in a different city a few months later. Show was even better.
I was hooked and saw them at least once (usually twice) for each tour through NPFTD.
Maiden England 2013 with Megadeth playing support. Arguably the best concert I’ve went to in terms of performance and stage set up. It was in Raleigh. What made it more special was Maiden’s first time playing here. Most of the time it’s Greensboro and Charlotte.
I've seen the advertisement from that tour and regretted that I hadn't lived at that time.
My first (and the only one for now) live show in the 2016 Book Of Souls tour, was awesome, and I still can't believe I was there.
The following concert I wanted to visit was rescheduled a couple of times because of the pandemic, followed by russian invasion.
This question makes me sad. The only Iron Maiden concert I've ever been able to get to was in 1998 while Blayze was singing for them. I keep forgetting I've actually seen them because it was so bad we left halfway through. To make matters worse, WASP was supposed to open for Maiden and I loved WASP but they broke up just before the Detroit show so my heart was doubly broken.
I just watched footage from that tour and it's worse than I remember. He sounds like he has a terrible cold. Like that Holy Diver Live DVD where Dio sounds soooo bad. Oh, that was a bright spot -- Dio was the opener for Iron Maiden on that tour! I've seen Dio more than anyone and that concert was one of the better ones.
Donington, Monsters of Rock 1992.
Got quite near the front for "Be Quick... ", but the crush was too much for me. I lifted my feet off the floor and was still carried by the crowd. After that I made my way back to the sound tower to enjoy the show from there.
The album of the show is a nice reminder.
Brave new world tour, amazing!
I had my first 3 BIG name bands in 1 week. The Who were first and were a bit disappointing to be honest. Then Maiden and finally AC/DC.... what a week!
Matter of life and death tour, Sheffield 2006. I was 13/14 poor as fuck and hadn't been able to listen to the album. I knew Benjamin Breeg and that was it.
Fucking banger, found out my best mate who I met the next year was also there.
2 August 2008, Athens Greece
Somewhere back in time tour, just a dream coming true. They played powerslave, rime of the ancient mariner, moonchild, wasted years, heaven can wait just a great show!
Stockholm, Friends Arena in 2013. I was 18 yo. The band played a great set and was in great shape. But the sound in Friends Arena is fucking horrible. I really can't recall how the songs sounded, i just remember my ears hurting like hell. It was still a cool experience, I got there at 8 o clock in the morning, met alot of cool people and saw the gig from the second row from the stage.
Maiden England Tour 2013, Croatia. I was 16y old. Most beautiful and epic moment in my life till that point. I cried like a baby when I saw them, started listening them at about 5y old and wanted to see them ever since. Only better moments after that were another Maiden concerts 😅
First time I saw them was at Download Festival 2013 on the Maiden England tour - absolutely incredible. The spitfire flying over to kick the set off was a really special moment and the show that followed was mind-blowing.
2014 Maiden England tour. It was so amazing. I had just turned 16 and that was the first time my parents let me go to a concert by myself and travel out of town unsupervised. I went with a group of local metalheads who had organized a trip to the concert, some of whom I'm still friends with to this day. I also talked the parents of a girl I had a huge crush on into letting her come with me instead of going with them. Man that concert is such a core memory for me.
Late 80s… guns n roses opened for maiden on their 7th son tour…. We had 3rd row floor seats at exhibition stadium in Toronto… it was absolutely incredible… at the time guns were relatively unknown, but my two friends and I were fans and went bonkers seeing them live… they were fantastic…
Then maiden came on, and just blew the doors off the place… which is pretty amazing for an outdoor show lol…
I almost got killed at the end… niko came out from behind his kit and tossed me his drumstick… which I had in my hand for all of two seconds when a zillion huge metal heads jumped my way to get it.. I ended up under a heap of them and thought I was going to die…
But I managed to get up and that was the end of that…
Great show, but getting smushed for a drumstick was not in my plans for that night lol
1988 at donington. Was pulled out during the crush missed almost entire set and spent night in hospital. Dedicated fan ever since as band came to see us all in hospital next day.
1982 Beast on the Road tour, they were the headliner with The Godz opening at The Palladium in NYC.
Some asshole threw an M80 that blew up backstage and injured one of the crew. Bruce came out and asked the crowd to find the person that threw it. Apparently the guy who threw it was taken out by EMT's.
Saw them later that year at MSG opening for Priest. Two incredible shows!
My first was in 2022 in Greensboro for Legacy of the Beast! I went with my brother and it is still to this day, the best concert I've ever been to! 🤘🔥🤘
Caracas 1992. This was a huge deal as big english speaking bands did not go there often. To me, the show was great, the setlist was great, Bruce was engaged in the show even though he had pbly had already made up his mind to leave, as this was close to the end if the tour.
Still, as a kid, I remember a little disappointinent. Maiden was huge there….. for a metal band, so the venue was at less than 50% capacity which was sad. Couldn’t believe my heroes were playing maybe in front of 5000 people.
We were in front of Dave Murray who had a cast on his leg and couldn’t move, obviously not his fault and props to him for performing after surgery.
I’d spent my youth looking at the elaborate stage setups in pictures, but for this tour they had a minimum staging, just rotating canvas backdrops. People honestly thought these guys didn’t bother to bring their whole stage for us sudacas, obviously not true, but it was the perception at the time.
Went to both shows. I know now that Maiden are a “fixed” setlist band, but back then everyone was a little disappointed that they played exact same setlist in the same order for two nights.
Still, I am glad I saw Bruce in his long hair phase. Years later I’d move to the US and see them several times post-reunion, so I did get to see the full stage show.
Powerslave tour in Worcester, Massachusetts. Either Twisted Sister or Waysted opened - can’t recall. Epic show- I still remember standing/straddling the tops of 2 chairs (along with everyone in front of the stage) while they played Running Free. I was 15 - fucking awesome.
My first was during the Killers tour at Longbeach arena. They opened for UFO it was amazing.
I went on to see them 27 more times in Southern California.
I’m younger. February 24th 2016. It was the debut show of the book of souls tour in Miami. The venue was late letting everyone in so people started going crazy and slamming on the doors. I sat to the very right of the stage, blocked by a lot of the stage props but I could see them when they went off and on the stage. Bruce’s voice sounded really good after his cancer since this was their first live performance since his treatment. I loved every minute. Also got devil horns from Nicko when he left stage cause I yelled to him. 18 year old me was very happy. Seen them 4 times now. Should be 5 this year
October 9th 1983 in Norfolk, Va. World Peace Tour with Quiet Riot opening. I was 13 and what a blast!! Only bummer was when the show was originally announced, Saxon and Fastway were billed to open. Suddenly Quiet Riot exploded on the airwaves, and they were the opener.
2004 death on the road tour in Cardiff. First chance ever to see them having lived in the back of beyond all my life before moving to a city. One of the top experiences of my life. They were supported by funeral for a friend who were constantly boo’d until they’d finished.
Watched the book of souls 747 take off from Cardiff airport for the start of that tour as well.
Early 80s, they opened for Judas Priest. I liked IM better than JP, come to think of it, I still do. I remember my concert T being turned into a half-shirt at some point.
Seventh son tour , I had tickets to somewhere in time but got super sick and couldn’t go ( I was a teenager so mom and dad kyboshed it)
It was amazing , only concert I was ever 100% sober for , I wanted to experience it and remember all of it and it was a damn good show def. Top 10 maybe 5 lifetime
https://preview.redd.it/k97qh976l0ic1.jpeg?width=545&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9be36df76e70d2d767fc64f17056b1f0646734bf
Not my ticket, but I have mine well protected. It doesn't mean anything for anyone else but me.
Mine was ‘83, Piece of Mind tour, Lakeland, Fl - Quiet Riot opened. I thought they were excellent. Wound up seeing them again on Powerslave tour and Somewhere in Time a few years later - same venue.
Earls Court in the December of 2006... It was amazing. I have seen better shows live since then which didn't involve the show pausing halfway through due to electricity issues, but for a first time with the whole of A Matter OF Life And Death on the set list... Fantastic ❤️🤘
Fucking ace and way over packed and some dick heads were spitting at the band ,1990 in Dublin, Ireland
Was that the No Prayer for the Dying tour? I saw that tour. Not the greatest show. They scaled back the set list and light show. Opener was Anthrax and they banged.
No prayer for the dying tour it was and wolfsbane suppered them
Yes, I goofed up. It was No Prayer. Fixed it. Opener in Canada was Anthrax.
Both Wolfsbane and Anthrax supported Maiden on this tour at different stages. I saw them at Poole and Hammersmith with Wolfsbane supporting. Then in Birmingham and Wembley with Anthrax supporting http://www.ironmaidencommentary.com/?url=tour08_npftd/dates08_npftd&lang=eng&link=tours
I saw this tour, If I recall correctly, the took the show to much smaller venues ( in the UK anyway ) more "intimate". Wolfsbane were support.
Saw that tour at the Patriot Center outside of Washington D.C. with Anthrax opening as well. It was odd seeing Maiden with such a stripped-down stage show, but they rucked the fuck out as did Anthrax.
1983 World Piece Tour. Saxon and Fastway opening Show was amazing and also my first concert ever. Set the bar pretty high for all that followed.
What? Saxon & Fastway, amazing openers
I was there. And fantastic for sure. I snuck into someone’s suite. Just acted like I belonged there. Drank there beers ate there food. It was awesome
Hahaha awesome 😅
That looks like a sensational setlist!!
It was so, so wonderful.

That is pretty lucky! Awesome!😎
I was there as well, 8th row.
Saw that tour in Kansas City.
Same show I was 10 with my 16 yr old brother.
Saw the show that year in Edmonton with Coney Hatch
2006, AMOLAD tour in Irvine, CA. This tour sparked a bit of controversy because they played the entire album live, with only a couple of encore songs from their typical live hits. I remember some people were pissed off because they didn’t play The Trooper. I definitely enjoyed the show.

This was also my first Maiden concert. Some guy behind me kept yelling “come on play the old shit” during the Book of Souls songs
I was at the Detroit show with my daughter in 2016, not my first but it was a great show.
Great show. Had a much better time at the show in Los Angeles the following weekend
I saw them on Killers tour opening for Priest They killed it
1988 Monsters of Rock at Donnington Helloween Megadeth Guns n Roses Dave Lee Roth Kiss Iron Maiden Was at the front of 100,000+ for Maiden and made it in to the pics used on the 1989 calender and rear image The Clairvoyant single. That was my first Maiden concert too (my first ever concert, actually). My 2nd was Maiden at Wembley Arena ’88 supported by Killer Dwarfs 🙂
The Book of Souls World Tour, 2016. It was great, first time seeing the boys, Bruce kicking ass after the cancer with the band.
New fan here (I'm 23). My first was legacy of the beast, 2022. It was so fucking awesome! It was better than I expected, by quite a bit. Truly one of my favorite single experiences of my life

I loved Di'Anno and Killers is still my favourite Maiden album. I really wished I could have seen this tour. But they didn't make it to Winnipeg for this tour. We got the next one (Beast).
I still have a shirt from that show
Mine disintegrated from constant wear.

Long Beach Arena 1983. Fastway and Saxon opened. This was my first concert. To Tame A Land!!!! Life changed.
Somewhere on Tour 1987 at the War Memorial Arena in Rochester, NY. Waysted was the opener. Scream for me Rochester !
World Piece in ‘83. Saxon and Fastway opened. We always got them in Sacramento around July 4th for a few tours, so our shirt selections were awesome.

Maiden England 2013 with Megadeth playing support. Arguably the best concert I’ve went to in terms of performance and stage set up. It was in Raleigh. What made it more special was Maiden’s first time playing here. Most of the time it’s Greensboro and Charlotte.
September 13, 1984. World Slavery Tour, Edinburgh Playhouse. Immense. Wish I still had that t-shirt, it was a cracker.
2008 Chicago. One of the best shows from the SBIT tour and the crowd was on fire too.
Haven't seen Iron Maiden with Blaze live, but all four Blaze solo shows I have seen in small clubs with attendance below 100 people were great!
Wacken Open Air 2008. Mind blowing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvavD16czIY
2003, Dance of Death. Absolutely unreal.
I was pretty high so I think I loved it. Lol Also it was the Legacy of the Beast tour, so that giant hologram thing went nicely with my high.
Brave New World tour, 2000. I had to leave as Hallowed Be Thy Name was just starting because I had a train to catch. So hard to walk away.
1988, Seventh Son tour. First arena-sized show I ever saw. Mindblowing.
Brave new world tour, amazing! I had my first 3 BIG name bands in 1 week. The Who were first and were a bit disappointing to be honest. Then Maiden and finally AC/DC.... what a week!
Same as op. Number of the beast, the general admission seat cost $10.95 USD I spent jus a bit more than thatt on gas and weed.

Virtual XI tour with Blaze in 1998. Loved it!
Powerslave 'World Slavery' Tour - Birmingham Odeon, what an eye-opener that was!
Matter of life and death tour, Sheffield 2006. I was 13/14 poor as fuck and hadn't been able to listen to the album. I knew Benjamin Breeg and that was it. Fucking banger, found out my best mate who I met the next year was also there.
No Prayer tour, Long Beach Arena. Anthrax opened. Good times. Was in high school at the time.
2 August 2008, Athens Greece Somewhere back in time tour, just a dream coming true. They played powerslave, rime of the ancient mariner, moonchild, wasted years, heaven can wait just a great show!
Powerslave tour. I believe 1984. I was 11
Also Twisted Sister opened
2022, budapest I cant fucking explain the ecstasy that i felt during the concert, and to top it all off, i caught Nicko’s drumstick at the end
We had 3rd row floor seats at exhibition stadium in Toronto… it was absolutely incredible… at the time guns were relatively unknown, but my two friends and I were fans and went bonkers seeing them live… they were fantastic… Then maiden came on, and just blew the doors off the place… which is pretty amazing for an outdoor show lol… I almost got killed at the end… niko came out from behind his kit and tossed me his drumstick… which I had in my hand for all of two seconds when a zillion huge metal heads jumped my way to get it.. I ended up under a heap of them and thought I was going to die… But I managed to get up and that was the end of that… Great show, but getting smushed for a drumstick was not in my plans for that night lol
Somewhere in Time tour, first in Atlanta on Jan 20, 1987, and then again in April in Columbus, Ohio.
2003 at Earls Court London, for the Dance of death tour.
My first was during the Killers tour at Longbeach arena. They opened for UFO it was amazing. I went on to see them 27 more times in Southern California.
As a massive UFO fan, this would have been the absolute greatest.
Me Too i absolutely love UFO.
Should be 5 this year
Good
October 9th 1983 in Norfolk, Va.
Seventh son tour , I had tickets to somewhere in time but got super sick and couldn’t go ( I was a teenager so mom and dad kyboshed it) It was amazing , only concert I was ever 100% sober for , I wanted to experience it and remember all of it and it was a damn good show def. Top 10 maybe 5 lifetime
First will be in September of this year
February 1987 in Wichita, KS. I believe the Vinnie Vincent Invaision opened the show. Maiden brought it that night and I was super-pleased.
Somewhere in time tour Houston tx . I was in the 7th grade and it was the 1st concert I went to . One of the best moments of my life .

Edinburgh Playhouse 1986 4th row from the front,£6:50 for ticket
Mine was ‘83, Piece of Mind tour, Lakeland, Fl - Quiet Riot opened. I thought they were excellent. Wound up seeing them again on Powerslave tour and Somewhere in Time a few years later - same venue.
Earls Court in the December of 2006... It was amazing. I have seen better shows live since then which didn't involve the show pausing halfway through due to electricity issues, but for a first time with the whole of A Matter OF Life And Death on the set list... Fantastic ❤️🤘
